  1. I can't wait to try the marble magnets and the ribbon wreath. I wish I had known about the wreath before my wedding! Put a glass vase and pillar candle in the middle and they would have made perfect centerpieces! Thanks for the suggestions!
  2. I think you should include your dd and new sil on your family ornament. They're still part of the family, right? I wouldn't hang up her stocking if she wasn't going to be there. If she is, I would get another one for sil too, so he's not left out. I got married this year too and we haven't addressed any of this stuff with our families yet. My dad was crushed when I told him last year that I wasn't going to sleep over this Christmas Eve. (I've been out of the house since for 3 Christmases, but I've always slept over after Midnight Mass.) DH and I are lucky that we live in the same town as our parents, but it makes for complicated holidays some times.
  3. They definitely had 30% off before noon a few years ago. That was the last time I needed something at The Gap on BF. Old Navy usually does it up big. I don't see why The Gap wouldn't.
  4. I was thinking iPod too. My general advice is that if there's something you really want and 1.) it's a doorbuster or 2.) the store doesn't give rain checks, then you need to be at the store at least an hour before it opens. A store like Target that doesn't do a ton of doorbusters isn't going to have a long line outside, but you really don't want to take a chance. If it's not a door buster and the ad doesn't specifically say "no rainchecks" then I would save that store until the end of my shopping expedition. I would also go to that store earlier in the week and see how they're handling it. Where will it be? Are they handing out tickets at the door or at a counter in the store (if at all)? About how many do they think they'll have in stock?
  5. I just found out that a church I go to is planning a service project for the morning of Black Friday. They are planning on setting up tables at the local retailers and giving out hot chocolate. Giving out, not selling. The cup holder will have the information about the church's Christmas service. I know this thread came up last year. Has anyone else done this in the past? Have you run into any problems?
  6. The MW2 bundle is everywhere. Best Buy advertised it last week. I noticed the same thing about the Arcade version and wondered how many clueless parents are going to get that, thinking that it's the right thing. Heck, I probably would if my bf didn't steer me in the right direction! We have a tiny hard drive, but so far haven't needed to upgrade.
  7. I twittered with @SearsDeals and they fixed the site! Woohoo!
  8. Thanks Deal Grabber! I might try that!
  9. I chatted with someone at Sears. She said I could buy it today for $39.99 and just watch the price and if it goes down in the next 30 days, I can ask them for a refund. Does that sound ridiculous to anyone else? I didn't bother fight with them that customers should get advertised prices.
  10. Thanks! Here's the special: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/dap_10153_12605_DAP_WOW+Specials?adCell=W3 This is what happens when you click it: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_01494510000P

    Deal of the Day?

Has anyone else had problems ordering the Deal of the Day from Sears? I'm using the link from the Black Friday home page and there is a luggage set for $24.99. When I go to check out, it's $39.99. What gives?
  12. I'm hoping they price match on BF too. Most of the things I bought yesterday were a better deal with the extra 10-15% off. I did buy my brother a saw that was $39.99 with 10% off, but when I checked the ad today, it will be $29.99 on BF. I'll be fighting that one!
  13. I hope that same person wrote to the people who publish history books and asked them to rename the day the stock market crashed (Black Tuesday).
  14. My boss said we can have whatever time off we want as long as one of us is in the office. I work with all single guys and none of them wanted to take the day. Same thing with Christmas Eve! I'm so lucky this year!
  15. Photo 1: "I only had to give 3 black eyes for all this loot." Photo 2: "I know she said 'No Peeking' but I can't help it!" Photo 3: Still working off that tryptophan coma at 7am
  16. I wish there were "like" buttons on here like Facebook! I love all of these! I hate when people who are by themselves shop while they're in line. I'm cool if you want to have a buddy hold your place while you run around the store, but if no one is holding your place, don't venture too far out of line!
  17. My number 1 thing this year is to have my family make their Christmas lists before I hit the stores, rather than texting me while I'm shopping with one more thing they really want! Other than that... 2.) Zune HD for my bf 3.) Sports logo sweatshirts because they're always so expensive but every guy on my list would love one 4.) Jewelry for my mom and sil 5.) A new bedroom set that isn't yellow but matches my yellow bedroom.
  18. I've never done BF on public transportation, but I'm thinking that maybe you should use a backpack to carry your stuff around. I typically buy a lot of little things - clothes and games, etc so most of what I buy could be stuffed into a big backpack. You should also bring those bags you use at the grocery store, as they would be better than carrying around the plastic bags whose handles will break. I have one of those big L.L. Bean beach bags that I use to carry my purchases around department stores. Maybe something like that would help you?
  19. I don't think a store has to honor the wrong price if the mistake is more than 50% of the actual price. That's the rule we used when I worked at a grocery store anyway. I would think even 20 items would be enough to raise a red flag. I imagine this business doesn't do much more than a few items per order when dealing with individuals. Was your credit card charged?
  20. Anyone have a good coupon code for PersonalCreations.com? I'd love to find one with 20% off and free shipping, but so far I haven't been able to find one yet. Thanks!
  21. I tried to use this but am not getting the free shipping? Did you spend the $75 or am I missing something?
  22. I was going to say the same thing. It's like sleeping outside for baseball tickets or whatever. Some people like the crowds, etc. If I had stayed at my last job, I'd be off this whole week on a mandatory furlough. I'm not saying I'd be spending my time in front of WM or BB, but I might be more likely to if I wasn't doing anything else. We're so quick to judge them for wasting their time and not being with their families. If you're the type of person who is out of work for whatever reason, likes hanging out outside like that, doesn't have kids and maybe can score a good deal on something that you've been saving for, why not? With that kind of dedication, you deserve whatever doorbuster you can get your hands on. As an aside, I've always said that I'd like to spend one Thanksgiving some place warm so I can camp out. I know people do it in all weathers, but my blood's just not thick enough! But I would like to at least have the experience once.

    FYE

Does anyone know if FYE usually has any BF deals? I'm looking for a few CDs this year. Thanks!
  24. Where do you get these printable coupons?
