  1. I suggest you get at least a 19" LCD TV, but without a built-in DVD player. I have had nothing but problems with built-ins. Honestly a 15yo should be able to handle anything. But because she's 15 she doesn't need state of the art. Maybe a camera that's in her favorite color!
  2. I was going to say an iPod Touch too! That's what I'm getting DH this X-Mas. If he's a "gamer" I'm surprised he asked for a Wii, an Xbox 360 is way more for "gamers"!
  3. Wii, hands down! Personally I think most of the games for 360 are too mature for 8 and 7 year olds. And there ARE games for the Wii that you just sit and play. Most of the sports games you have to jump around but most of the role playing games, ie Spyro or Lego Star Wars, you can sit and play. I think the Wii is way more versatile, IMHO!
  4. Three years ago I did BF for the first time. I intended on going to Best Buy for the $199 laptops. I didn't even need one but I went with my sister-in-law so she could get one for each of her kids, her DS, 14, was in Children's Hospital with cancer. We got to BB about 8:30pm Thanksgiving night and the line was already past BB and the neighboring Barnes & Noble! There were people with tents, heaters, recliners, guitars...you name it! I thought it was a riot! So figuring we wouldn't be able to get the laptop we headed over to Circuit City. We got there and was about 12th in line. We stayed there all night in 40o weather but when they came out with the tickets at 4am they were out before they got to us! All they had was a more expensive package that had a bunch of mail-in-rebates. She didn't have enough to buy those so we left empty handed. On our way home we HAD to swing by BB and now the line was wrapped around Barnes & Noble AND the movie theater and PAST the back parking lot! It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen! Especially the poor dumb guy at the end of the line! So we were home by 5 and only had the free snow globe from JC Penny to show for it! Lucky for her my mother-in-law got my nephew a laptop at Wal-Mart! =)
  5. I called the TRU closest to me and they had some for $98. I called the one a little further away and they have them on clearance for $69 so I had them put one on hold for me! How much would you want for it? :)
  6. If it really does open at midnight I'll be there! :)
  7. Today it's online on tru.com for $69.98, of course out of stock. I'm going to call as soon as they open and see if they have any! Cross your fingers for me!
  8. Thanks! I'll check TRU tomorrow. I checked two Wal-Marts and nothing! So far it's the only thing DD, 4, has asked for for X-Mas. She even drew a picture of it for her X-mas list!
  9. I'm looking for the High School Musical 3 Movie Set Dollhouse for my DD. They had them at Wal-Mart for $125 and I heard they got clearance and went down to $25! Has anyone seen them at a Wal-Mart near Southern NH? I have found them on ebay for as low as $100 but would rather buy in a store if I could. Thanks! http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10099420
  10. Haven't found a list yet but my Walmart already started stocking them. They were all in one isle. Hope that helps!
  11. I'd get him an iPod Nano 4th Generation. It's $130 and has a color screen, the new 5th generation have a video player too but is $175. I wouldn't wait for BF. They don't really go on sale, you'd maybe get a $20 gift card or accessory pack. They are in-stock on Wal-Mart.com. Hope this helps! Oh and they do sell arm-bands for walking/running. Also keep in mind that songs on iTunes are $1 each!
  12. The fun and excitement for me is getting a great deal! Either on-line or in-store! I'm sure I'll still go out on BF to get the things I couldn't get on-line!
  13. I also love Macs but they are just too expensive. Show me a MacBook for $200-$300 on BF and I'll but two!
  14. Aren't we still like...3 weeks for actually getting an ad?! I'm wicked excited but don't expect to get one till then. It's easier to get though the day!
  15. Thanks guys! I'll try the day after Christmas. I REALLLY didn't want to step foot in the mall BF anyway!
  16. We have a new Target so if this is true it will be down to the a better ad! I don't make any plan on where I go first until I have all the ads in hand!
  17. I'd get a Leapster for your DS3. My son had a V-Smile and the Leapster was soo much better. They have a Leapster 2 now too. They have learning games for all ages! :)
  18. Honestly I wouldn't bother. If he's used to 360, PS3 and Wii he will HATE a 64 or Super Nintendo. Just have the disks for the systems you have so he can not get to them. He's 7 he should know how to take care of stuff and not get him a special system just so he won't ruin it. Just IMO!
  19. I've seen the DS Lite on sale at Target for $99. I would bet it will be at least that low for BF. At 5 I doubt he would even know the difference between a DS and a DSi! My DS, 9, has had a regular DS since he was about 4-5. This year he is finally getting the DS Lite because it will finally be on sale!
  20. The great deals (I never buy anything full price!) and the adventure!
  21. Target in our area has the two day sale too but there usually isn't anything left after mid-day on BF anyway. Wal-Mart (in our area at least) sells BF items until they are gone. I've gone back 2, 3 days or even a week later and still picked up a few things at the BF advertised price!
  22. You guys are soo much better than I am! I usually use DH's whole paycheck that week and figure out how to pay the bills after! I like the change idea though. I usually cash in my change a couple times a year but haven't done it lately. I'll just hold off and do it right before Thanksgiving! :)
  23. Do these store do Black Friday? Is it worth venturing in the mall to find out? Thanks! Oops, spelled it wrong!
  24. If they just need it for the internet then a netbook would be fine. Just remember there is no CD/DVD slot for programs or movies. You can buy an external one but now your getting up almost as expensive as a laptop. I think you should wait. BF will undoubtedly bring laptop deals and most likely netbook deals because they are so hot right now. And if you don't get one for BF they will probably have sales closer to Christmas!
