I should have been more specific. THOSE EDTV's are a waste of money. If I were to buy an ED, it'd be a Panasonic which does look incredibly good. I can't afford that though.
-
No, I meant that the TV picture walmart has online does not match the picture of the Magnavox. Sorry for the misunderstanding. The picture on the Westinghouse is amazing, don't get me wrong there.
-
If so, I'll be returning my westinghouse after I buy this. I checked the online ad and the picture does not look like the Magnavox although I'm sure they could have a different TV pictured than the one offered. I still can't wrap my head around a sub $1000 HD plasma.
-
ProtRon isn't in CR and I've never heard of it, so I went with the westinghouse at Best Buy. I'm still very happy with the purchase a whole 2 days later

Bump cause I'm in the same dilema. I think I'm leaning twards the Z760 since it comes with cradle and has a good lens it seems. It's also the highest megapixel @ 6mp and has its own litioum ion battery instead of using AA's.
-
You're telling me that Walmart will have a 42" HD plasma from Magnavox for $997? I find that incredibly hard to believe. Or do you mean the one that's $1500 at BB?

There's a spongebob game I see for sale in most of the ads that might be good. I've got an older harry potter game you could just have. It's extremely boring for adults, but probably fun for the kids. If you want it just PM me and I can mail it to you. For the husband, get Mario Kart for sure, and if he likes sports get him the new Madden NFL game. Zelda is a great game as well as metroid prime.

Have any more input on the Optoma? For people like me that can't buy the Infocus, I'd appreciate some input. I can't find # of segemnts or speed for the color wheel on any of these except the 4805 (which has 4 segments). I'm a little worried about the rainbow effect, and if it has it, I'd have to return the projector, and at that time, I couldn't get another for a price close to that.

Martini set or something of the like maybe?
-
It does not say brand and it says not available in all stores as well. I believe it's a doorbuster available only until 11am. BUT, it does say it's available online as well.

Infocus SP4805 Remanufactured DLP Projector - $499.98 AR It's on the 17th line down. After doing research this is definetly the best projector for <$500, which sucks cause I can't get one unless they make them available online. What states are Staples located in? I tried to check on their web site, but you have to put in a zip code to find one. I wish they just had a map you could look at.
-
I don't have a staples within 50 miles of me, in fact, I don't think there is one in the whole state of Minnesota. That projector does seem nice, but unless it's available online, I have to choose from the other 3. I thought that the X1a had gotten mixed reviews so I was leaning twards the optoma EP716, but I cannot find much for information or reviews onthis projector.

Toshiba has: 1 RCA, 1 S-video, 1 mini D-sub 15 (shared with RGB signal), 1 stereo mini jack, 2 RCA for video, 2 RCA for S-video, 2 RGB Optoma has: VGA monitor loop-through, 2 RGB, S-video, composite video, component video, serial, audio mini jack inputs Not sure about the infocus since CC and OM don't have that in their product description, but I'm sure it has s-video at least.

Not sure if I'm the only one wanting a projector to set up a home theater, but I haven't seen anyone else post aobut it. There's 3 different projectors at 4 stores for under $500. Best Buy - Toshiba TDP-S26U - $450AR ($350 in rebates) Office Max - Infocus X1a - $500AR ($100 in rebates) Circuit City - Infocus X1a - $500 (no rebates) Comp USA - Optoma EP716 - $500AR ($200 in rebates) I'm really unsure which one to get. I initiall thought the Toshiba since that's the best brand I thought, and it's got the highest regular price, but in the BB info section it doesn't say it can display 16:9 which is very important to me. I'm looking for advice or just curious who else is looking to get one. Not sure if this is sticky worthy since I seem to be the only one interested in a projector.

IMO ED plasma's area waste of money. I'd either spend $1500 on that Magnavox 42" HD plasma, or $900 on the Westinghouse 32" HD LCD.
-
In your case I think the Kodak C360 for $130 at best buy would be your best bet.
-
I went to BB and got my 32" westinghouse price matched tonight and they wouldn't give me the 10 which sucks. But I do have the $50 rebate from buying it yesterday so it's still $850. Still well worth it for that nice of a TV. Just thought I'd mention that you're not supposed to get the 10% off a sale item, so if you do you're luckier than me.
-
After rebate. And the BB's probably show out ofstock because they set aside a certain amount for BF. Most ads will say "store minimum: x amount."
-
I still have to go in and get mine pricematched, but I'm too busy watching footall on it. It's not a true HD signal, just digital cable and it still lookes terrific. I have my dvd player hoked up through component for now and it looks amazing, but I'll be setting up my htpc soon so I can hook it up through hdmi, then it'll look even better. The picture on the TV looks really good right out of the box. I haven't even opened the TV menu yet since I'm too lazy today. Just thought I'd tell anyone that's looking for a 32 LCD, I wouldn't wait since the only one on BF is a Protron?? from sears. I frgot to ask, is there a rebate on yours?
-
Thanks a lot for that info. My wife and I went down and got an early edition paper to verify that they'll be on sale tomorrow. They are, so we went down to best buy and got ne today so that they won't be out. We'll go there tomorrow and show our reciept and get the $400 difference back. There was also a $50 MIR on the TV. So all said and done, the TV is only $759 before tax! We just got home from a party and I can't wait to break it out of the box and play with it. It looked very good in the 2 different BB's I was in.
-
I don't think they really care if it's leaked, it's just more press for them. Their goal is still to make money and that's it. The more people know about their deals the more they'll want to go into their store and spend their money. I don't think it will change at all.
-
The Z740 uses SD cards, as far as I know, all of the kodaks mentioned do.
-
I take that back. I just looked at the new scans of the OfficeDepot ad, and I'll be getting the Kodak Z740 for $225 AR! I can't believe that deal, that camera seems so nice. I might buy the Z730 there tomorrow and then return it after I bought the Z740 or keep t if I cannot get it. I'm planning on camping out at best buy, buy I'm not positive now.
-
After looking into all the camera's, I think I'm going to be doing the same thing tomorrow and go to CompUSA on my lunchbreak to buy that Z730. It seems like a really good camera for $180!

I also went to BB earlier tonight. The Maxent 42" ED plasma TV had HORRIBLE quality. It would've been unbearable for meto watch it had I bought it. It is a complete waste of time. I also looked at the 26" maxent LCD screen. If you're looking for a 26" HD TV for $500, then this is the screen to buy. Great looking picture, no blurring duing fast movment, and decent contrast. The blacks weren't perfect, but they were good. I am probably going to get this TV for my living room for now and upgrade later. This thing was really nice. I'm going to go to sears to check out that Protron 32" lcd TV. I'm stl curious if the 42" ED plasma at walmart is teh ILO. If so I'll probably try to get that, but Im waiting in line at BB, so I'll but the 26" maxent and then return it if I'm able to get that walmart plasma later. It looked quite a bit better than the BB plasma, but the walmart one had horrible signal so it was harder to tell the quality of it. I'll have to look into it more once we find out which plasma it is at walmart. I hust thought I'd share my thoughts. Now I wish I knew which digi cam to buy. Looking for advice if you look at the camera thread.
