we usually have it as a paid day off, but they will not let us know until a couple weeks before.

this is not new. Kmart didn't do price adjustments on clearance, when I worked there, and it was stupid. people would return stuff then buy it again at a cheaper price. That was 10 years ago.

I keep mine in my car - usually using them for groceries... don't know if I'd want to carry them into the stores with me... too much else going on that day, to bring my own bag, but we've used them in the car to hide stuff from the kids.

next week stinks - go back for the free stuff now!

thought of you today - I picked up my online order from JC Penney at the catalog desk... it was wrapped in opaque plastic... I decided to open it there to make sure everything was in it... thanks... I think.

I don't have a percentage - but certainly some. We are trying to cut back this year, as we tend to shop for everyone... and it is time some of the grown-ups get moved off the list... Thank you for including hanukah! Last year we gave the kids teachers Hanukah presents.. (we figured what the heck, people give us Xmas presents without considering what we celebrate... so why couldn't we do the same?) it went over very well. This year DD has a Jewish teacher - so it will be more appropriate.

I'd have called the manager right then and there - used my cell phone from the parking lot if I had to... I looked younger than I was for many years (still do - but the kids give me away) and would not tolerate disrespect for it... probably took things too personally.

I wonder if the regionality is based upon when school starts. In the south school tends to start earlier than the North East....
