  1. Here is the contact info for support. http://emersonelectronics.ca/emerson/en/support/
  2. My family does ask for me to pick up things for them but they know that I dont like to do that. I tell them if they want something really bad that they have to sit in line for me. I do invite friends who I have not met in the BF line but I have found out that they just dont understand BF and why anyone would camp out.
  3. It was me and no problem! I hope you have a great BF. Sorry to hear about your nuke machine.
  4. Yes I do really sit there for 30 hours and it may be longer this year. Just depends on the intel I get here. :) When I stated to do this 5 years ago it was just me but over the years I have made alot of friends and it has grown to about a group of 30. We all stay in touch during the year and do each others birthday and holidays. Best Buy is the only store I go to since I feel they have the best sales year after year and the ticket system is one of the best out there. You asked who I buy for. I mostly buy for me and close family.
  5. It varies from store and store. We have had reports in years past where the people in line were rude and such. Other reports we get that every one in line plays nicely. I hope everyone plays nice. :) BF is a full contact sport and you will find that once business picks up that this site has some of the most serious and professional BF shoppers in the world that post here. Welcome to the community!
  6. What about preg women who think they can handle BF? We had two in line at the BB I was at last year and the cops told them to leave since they will put the babies in danger.
  7. No they have not. Once you are in line for 30 plus hours you become friendly with the people around you. So if someone nears you needs to potty or get food they will ask if you will hold there spot while they potty and they will do the same with you. It is a honor system. If you do get up to go get food then you must offer to get food for the people around you. Once it is time to put away your stuff people around you are doing it but just remember who was in order. You might take turns doing it. In the lines I have been in this takes place around 1am on Friday for a 5pm opening. Again this will all depend on the people around you and how quick you make friends.
  8. I dont know what it is like at your BB but in most BB lines the people inline police the line really good. You could bring your idea to your local manager and see what he/she says.
  9. GD has a Best Buy section and the link is below. I have posted an updated copies of the PSA program and the BB ticket system. They will be updated through the holiday. You can also post your BB questions there! http://forums.gottadeal.com/forumdisplay.php?f=75
  10. About 2 hours before the doors open people start to put away there items in there cars so park close up when you get there.
  11. I would not use a charcoal grill for heating. It produces carbon monoxide and will gas everyone near by. You should get a camping heater. Coleman has several models that you can use inside a tent or close area. Below is a link to the heater. http://www.coleman.com/coleman/colemancom/detail.asp?product_id=5033-750 Remember safety everyone!
  12. 5:10am at BB since I use the PSA service. They also give me free food.
  13. LOL You may laugh but CNBC covered my port-a-potty last year. http://www.cnbc.com/id/21886301 It was front page on MSNBC and CNBC last year. And people really do pay a buck since I have the key.
  14. -Tent -Generator -Port-A-Potty on wheels - Buck a dump (made $400.00 last year) -water for 30 people for X days -propane heater and propane for X days -grill -food for 30 people for X days -digital camera -HD cam -Laptop -Ads -Camping chairs
  15. The only real news is that the Ace ad has been leaked. I have been doing checks on the wire services and there is no real news on the 2008 Holiday Shopping season. Alot of states are in the middle of the BTS Tax Holiday season and I don't expect to see any real news until after Labor Day. Since we are in a volatile economy the stores may change there plans alot so keep posted to this website. When news comes out I will make a news thread and post news there.
  16. Our group this year will be 20. Our group grows every year.
  17. Wig women in slow motion LOL
  18. Hello everyone! I just thought I would post some BF videos on here for the newbies to see what they are in for and us vets to laugh at what we get our selfs into each year. Lesson of the day: If you get in a stampede (which you will) remember to cover your face and roll to the side. Also make sure you glue your wig on. No one likes to trample animals. Warning: Some of the videos may not be office safe or safe for kids. Oldie But a Goodie ....And The rest http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYDeBbsM0tM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6tBSavL0a8 I would be here all night posting videos but I wont. Please feel free to share your own favorite photos or videos.
  19. LOL My friends and I which is about the first 10 people in line we have a plan and go in there as a mob.
  20. They have one of the best systems in the industry. That is why I will only shop at BB. I know things will be in order and fair for the most part. I have noticed last year other stores have taken a page out of BB play book.
  21. I went shopping last year at Wal Mart on Tday to buy more propane for my camp heater.
  22. Hello Everyone! Every year we have thousands of questions about Price Matching (PM) during the Black Friday weekend. Post your questions here in this thread so we can keep the boards clean and in order. As a general rule MOST stores have a price matching clause during Black Friday where the stores will not price match on Black Friday.
  23. Hello everyone! My name is Big Jim Slade and I am on of the Black Friday Mods on here. I am a 5 year Black Friday vet and Mayor of BB Tent City in my hometown (I was elected by the store manager and other campers last year). My full time job is I am a partner and founder in a international security firm where we provide security services to religious facilities, provide security to Israeli Govt leaders that visit the United States and provide security services to the Indian Entertainment Industry know as Bollywood. I am single and enjoy life to the fullest. About My Screename: Alot of people ask me about my screen name. It comes from a gem of a movie from the 70's called Kentucky Fried Movie. It is one of the best comedy films of the 70's and is the first film from the directors of Airplane!, Naked Gun and Animal House.
  24. What is the PSA Program at Best Buy? The PSA program is a special program at some Best Buy stores across the country. There trained BB employees help customers in shopping and gift buying with a personal touch. This includes emailing a want list to a PSA and the PSA will pull your items and all you have to do is check out when you get to the store. Is the PSA program free? Yes. Personal shoppers do accept tips. Can I use the PSA program during Black Friday? Yes and No. Some stores will shut down there PSA program during Black Friday weekend and others will open the PSA desk during BF. The choice to open or close the PSA program during Black Friday rested on the store manager and the regional manager last year. Check with your local BB to see the status of this program during BF. How Can I sign up for PSA for Black Friday? You must call your local BB that has a PSA desk and make an appointment. Last year (2007) they did not start to take reservations until Nov 2. How does the PSA program work on BF? Some stores will make up there own rules so please check with your local BB store manager. In general what will happen is when BB opens the reservations you will call your local PSA store and make an appointment. Then you will email your non-doorbuster want list to your PSA. On Thanksgiving day you will camp out in front of BB. After you got your tickets and after the doors open you will head to the PSA area. Most of the time it is located in the back of the store in the auto install bays. There you will give your PSA your tickets and he/she will pull your ticketed items. While he/she does that some stores will serve light breakfast and coffee to PSA customers. After your PSA pulls your items you will be checked out. After that you pull your 1977 Eldorado to the back and your PSA will load your car for you. Do I have to stand in line and camp out for my ticketed/doorbuster items? Yes! They will NOT pull ticketed/doorbuster items. They will pull other items that are not doorbusters. Items like memory, software, cables and stuff you will need. If they can't pull doorbuster items then why do it? It saves you time. After the doors open at BB the average wait time to check out is 2 hours! Also it can give you a chance to eat and use the potty. When can I sign up? No date has been setup for 2008. Check back!
  25. The best BF deal I got money can't buy. It is the friends I have made while camping out in line.
