I hide them under my daughters' beds. They never clean under there, anyway :) But really, we hide them in our closets in trash bags, in the garage in trash bags, etc. The girls are not nosy, yet, but I am sure we will have to get better in the future.

Do you want a compact one, like the Flip or the Kodak zi6? Or do you want the larger, regular size ones? I have a Sony HD camcorder with a Hard drive that I love (but it cost $900 two Christmases ago), and a Kodak zi6 that I bought for my wife this year for $120, that also shoots HD video, but uses a card for memory. (we love that one also for how easy it is to carry around), but we use the Sony for Kid's shows, plays, etc, because I can use my tripod.

I've seen the 2gb Clips go for as little as $25 new or refurbished.

sansa clip is easy, durable and compact, my DD8 had had one since she was 6 , and I wull be upgrading her this Christmas.

I downloaded movies off a rental website, and watched on an airplane with my acer one. Be careful with mini 9 for $199, it only has Linux, instead of windows, and a 4gb hard drive, instead of a 120gb. Heck, my cell phone, and all of our mp3 have more memory than that.
