  1. Decent prices on the ammo...might have to add them to my stops.
  2. They're actually advertising a Remington bucket of bullets for $80 on that Saturday. Too bad there's not a store within 100 miles of me
  3. Interesting....they are opening at 5pm on Thursday and closing at 1 AM on Friday, No mention of their hours on Friday itself?
  4. And 1 hour before the store opens, all 10 of them will show up and want their "saved" places in the line.
  5. I'll be buying my annual supply of Tidy Cat.
  6. Must be nice to have nothing else to do than that. I bet when the store opens, their little group of placeholders grows from the two to a dozen or more.
  7. The problem is that most of the items that start the fights aren't the real big ticket items, it's middle tier stuff like video games, DVDs, kitchen appliances, and even those dumb towels. How do you set up a line or ticketing system for $1.00 towels?
  8. My first real excursion was that I can remember was 1991 in Spokane. So 20+ years for me.
  9. Is the pope Catholic? Does a bear crap in the woods? Of course I do. My favorite is to get the BluRay disks I really want and stash them until after Christmas. If I get them as a present, back to the store they go. If not, got my cheap BluRays.
  10. I really hate the earlier and earlier hours. Seems to just get worse every year. DW works at Walmart in photo, and every previous year they were able to work just 4 hour shifts so that we could have our 34 year traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Last year,.,,8 hour shift from 2-11, so no chance of that. With most stores opening on Thanksgiving, we should just change the name to Balck Thursday. I shudder to think at what time they will start this year.
  11. Was at my friendly neighborhood Walmart last night. Lots of PJs, 4 carts of sheet sets, and even some of the tools left. The power washer keeps calling to me every time I see it. Still some of the DVDs/BluRays.
  12. I'd say it doesn't look good. You should have gotten a confirmation email right after placing it. If you never got the order confirmation email, it probably didn't process for one reason or another.
  13. Remind me to never try and upgrade a cell phone on BF. Wanted that Samsung Galaxy S4 from Walmart (basically free after gift card). Got there about 6:30, sale starts at 8:00, #6 in line. Didn't get out of there with my phone until noon. Activations were taking anywhere from 45 minutes to about 1 1/2 hours depending on what all they were doing (adding lines, changing carriers, etc.). Supposedly, it was the carriers (AT&T and Verizon's) servers were so busy. Luckily, when my turn came, since it was just a simple upgrade and nothing else, mine only took about 20 minutes.
  14. Towels...both Walmarts I visited this morning still had towels and sheet sets left. Those are usually gone in the for 10 minutes or so.
  15. For the first time in 33 years of marriage (other than the years that I was deployed overseas) I won't be cooking Thanksgiving dinner for my family. Since Walmart's decision to start earlier this year, and the fact that it's where my wife works, her 12-9 schedule that day just took away a long standing tradition. Previously, since she works at a supercenter, they've had 4 hour shifts which we could work around. But not this time, since they need "all hands on deck" for the 6pm Event 1. You might say that I'm a little bitter about it, and no I don't like having Thanksgiving become Black Thursday. Hopefully she will be able to retire in 2 or 3 years and we can have our Thanksgiving back.
  16. Nope. Black Thanksgiving doesn't really thrill me at all.
  17. Next year we'll have to ask what everyone's new Black Thursday traditions are, as that's what it's devolved into.
  18. At this point, I don't look to find much on Black Friday, as by 12:00AM that morning it will be all over with the stores all starting on Black Thursday. Ok...just a little bit of a snark there...
