It means a $10 Reward Zone certificate. The coupon says you get 30,000 bonus points, which is what it takes to get a $10 RZ cert. This acts completely, virtually 100% like a gift card except it has an expiration date (I think for like 3 months after it's printed) and you can't use it to buy gift cards or Maytag Neptune washers/dryers. -Mark-

I wish I could institute an NMC policy at my house -Mark-

If you live in central Ohio, you can pretty much bet the Best Buy doorbusters (i.e. the only actually good deals) will not be applicable  . I have to mention this in every thread, I guess -Mark-

Used $186 in 2003 and $300 last year. Had a big mess with them in '03, but no problems last year. I'm planning to use $300 of them again this year on BF -Mark-

I live in a pretty nice end of town, actually, so that kind of rude behavior is something I've never witnessed, not even on BF. BF around here is usually "controlled chaos". -Mark-

Last year, I bought a DVD box set in mid-October for my sister. That's the earliest time I've ever bought a Christmas present. But I go crazy between Thanksgiving and the week before Christmas. -Mark-

Yeah, same here. It's become a tradition. We have the 2002 - 2004 ones. Now I can't even imagine going through a BF without getting one . Of course, I rarely buy anything from JC Penny on BF, so it's kind of out of my way to get it and usually causes me to miss out on other deals elsewhere. -Mark-

Yeah, it was the Columbus, OH Sears for me. I read several different stories from people all over the country who had similar experiences. It was the most massively disorganized BF giveaway I think I've ever taken part in. -Mark-

Why limit it to just DH/DW? My brother's been my BF sidekick for the past 3 years and I usually end up not being able to get anything for him because we always go to the same stores together (1 holds place in line while the other goes out and picks up something). Although, two years ago, he really wanted this cool remote controlled airplane that they had on sale at Radio Shack, so I actually bought it for him right there with him in the store with me, so he knew I was getting it for him, but we still went through the motions (I wrapped it, tagged it, etc) and he acted surprised on Christmas when he opened it. -Mark-

My mom and sister went to Kohl's for BF last year and got some really great deals. Also, what was most worthwhile IMO was the $10 gift certificates they handed out for every $50 you spent. They got around 12 or 13 of those certificates and were able to go back later in the holiday shopping season and get $130 off another purchase with those. If only Best Buy did the same thing -Mark-

Columbus, OH is just South enough that we hardly ever really get hugely impacted by snowstorms. And I can't remember the last time we've gotten any kind of measurable snow in November. -Mark-

I've always gone to JC Penny first, through the mall entrance, and there is never an organized line. It's just usually a relatively small group of people waiting outside who storm in once they open the doors. But I was the 2nd person to be there last year. -Mark-

Yep, apparently Wal-Mart has no problem price-matching an item for $20 or $30 less than what they'd sell it for...I reckon they just make their employees work a couple hours overtime without pay to make up for it -Mark-
-
...And caused a huge mess at the one around here. They had signs saying "you must go through this entrance to get the $10 gift card", and people would show up 5 seconds before it opened, enter through another entrance, and run right up to the un-blocked off area where they were handing them out..... I'm still angry about that. -Mark-

Here's what my sleeping schedule is like around BF: *Day before Thanksgiving: Take a nap during the day. *Night before Thanksgiving: Stay up all night. *Thanksgiving Day: Head out around 5 AM for doorbusters at Meijer / check out other stores that are open and having sales / get a newspaper. *Thanksgiving Night: Stay up all night refining BF strategy. *Black Friday: Head out around 4 AM and go to as many stores as possible. Usually out until 1 PM or so. Then take a nap during the afternoon. *Black Friday Night: Stay up all night. *Saturday: Head out around 9 AM to get the free CD / Reward Zone points from Best Buy, and catch all other stores' 2-day sales I missed out on on Friday. *Saturday Night: Sleep until Christmas lol -Mark-

Not only do I do it myself, but I also wrap all the presents that my carpel-tunnel-stricken mom buys (except the ones she buys for me of course), as well as helping my brother and sister with theirs. -Mark-

Well, that's kind of the story every day for me, even when BF is not around the corner. -Mark-

Absolutely. For one, there's always a store or two for which no one posts the info early (i.e. last year, it was Media Play). Also, it lets me know for sure that the deals apply in my area. For example, last year, all BF sites showed some really cool Doorbusters at Best Buy, then I get my local ad and saw that they were not in my flyer for Best Buy (they were replaced by a really dumb mail-in gift card offer)!! I would have been really upset if I had gone to BB fully intending to get those offers and then find out right on the spot they were not available. -Mark-

I've never even gone to Wal-Mart on Black Friday for the past 3 years, and from what I saw, I probably will not go this year either. But I'm just not a Wal-Mart person. -Mark-

Of course, why would I care? I hate coffee -Mark-

No, thank you for that. I always make fun of people for typos, so it's only fair that the shoe fits the other foot this time -Mark-

Ah, I get it. You wanted the extra Amazon.com referral bucks . No, seriously, I thought maybe you accidentally posted on the wrong board. Of course you can do whatever you want, oh almighty admin. When should I start groveling? -Mark-

I thought this board was just for Black Friday stuff? Doesn't this belong in the Online Deals forum? -Mark-

It's too far away for anyone to really be discounting the PS2 yet. And usually, video game hardware does not go on sale on BF. -Mark-

Give it a couple more weeks. It's still over a month away. -Mark-
