  1. Actually, there is! Meijer will have the PSP for $199.88 on BF (part of their "2-day sale" but I imagine they will be long gone before Saturday) -Mark-
  2. You have no idea how elated I would be if they did have the doorbusters this year! By the way, I was at the Polaris Best Buy today as well. I wonder if we unknowingly saw each other -Mark-
  3. I think many people are misreading my thread's title... -Mark-
  4. Thanksgiving Day? I seem to remember getting them earlier and being able to plan well in advance what (if any) stores I wanted to hit. It seems like very short notice to have ads for sales that start at 5 AM or 6 AM in a newspaper that arrives right about that time. -Mark-
  5. I'm having trouble remembering exactly when the ads for the Thanksgiving Day sales (Meijer, Big Lots, Kmart) actually get released. Will they be in the paper tomorrow with the regular ads or do they usually show up in Monday's or Tuesday's paper? -Mark-
  6. I cannot wait!! I finally received my latest paycheck of $175 (was worried it might not get here until after BF) so I am now fully pumped up and ready for next Friday! -Mark-
  7. Special 2-hour block of The Apprentice on NBC from 9 - 11 PM + CompUSA opening at midnight = no sleep for me! -Mark-
  8. Yes; that is very true. I guess I should have been a little more outlandish with my post like RossMAN. I will someday learn some things from him.. -Mark-
  9. Am I really that trustworthy that everything I say comes out as 100% sincere? I guess I should just not attempt jokes anymore -Mark-
  10. Hehe, no. It was a joke. I guess I should have indicated that with an lol emoticon or something. -Mark-
  11. Well, considering Best Buy stores around here won't have the doorbusters, I'm actually quite excited about CompUSA. The FAR DVD burner, 100 DVD+Rs for $20, and Dazzle video input device are very appealing. I must say, you certainly have a rather watered-down selection for the poll. I'm sure there are some people who are not mostly excited about electronics and who despise Wal-Mart. -Mark-
  12. I am so happy that I actually have a newspaper subscription this year! No rushing out to the grocery store at 4 AM to get my hands on one on Thanksgiving like years past. -Mark-
  13. Wasn't Whitney Houston the one who knocked out the elderly lady at Wal-Mart to get a $20 DVD player? (j/k) -Mark-
  14. That's going to be quite a feat considering Best Buy opens at 5 AM as well -Mark-

    kohls ad

Hehe...when I read this, I couldn't help but to remember an episode of Family Matters where Carl was eating a box of fudgesicles or something, looked at the box and said, "ooh...half the calories. That means I can have two!" Loved that show (at least for a few seasons) -Mark-
  16. Guys..."normal hours of operation" means nothing more than when the store is open. It's an extremely minor legal technicality so that they can't get in trouble for someone trying to redeem their BB Bucks in-store at like 1 AM. Since the stores are not open 24 hours and they say the BB Bucks are valid from the beginning of the contest through December 3, they need to be more specific on when you can actually use them. But that's all it is. On 11/25, Best Buy's "normal hours of operation" will be 5 AM - 10 PM. And just so you know, I used $300 in BB Bucks last year on BF and $168 in 2003 and had no problems using them that early. -Mark-

    kohls ad

Kohls has terrible regular prices, but when they have their big one or two-day sales (especially BF), you can get some really good deals, especially if you combine them with the 15%/20%/30% off coupons that often come in the mail. -Mark-
  18. I find this information really hard to believe. "A majority of them are incorrect"??? You do know that scans of the actual ad are posted here, right? -Mark-
  19. To be quite honest, I usually just do all my planning on Thanksgiving Day. I of course come to GottaDeal to get a heads-up on the ads, but sometimes it's hard to make out the fine print and see the exact specifications of some of the items. Plus, there are always a few ads that I'm interested in that don't get leaked (usually Media Play is the big one for me). So I start just browsing the stuff the day the first ad is leaked, but I don't actually make any plans until Thanksgiving Day itself. -Mark-
  20. In-store for a few reasons: - It's become part of my Christmas tradition. It just wouldn't feel the same if I didn't head out super early and try to get to as many stores as possible. - If I'm going to spend an inordinate amount of money on a bunch of stuff, I like to be able to have it immediately after I spend my money. - Don't have to pay shipping. To save $20 on a DVD player, then have to pay $10 shipping, it kind of kills the deal for me. -Mark-
  21. Heh. What goes around comes around. Your funny check story had me laughing out loud -Mark-
  22. If you want the link, PM me. I have no problem replying and pasting a link, but I'm too lazy to manually PM everyone. (Also don't know who's already been PMed and who hasn't) EDIT: The PM express (aka, me) is signing off now. -Mark-
  23. Ha! That makes it even better. I've actually never written a check to a store in my life (although, heh, granted I am 19 and have had my checking account for 16 months...). There seem to be too many problems associated with it. -Mark-
  24. Hey, that's a pretty good rule of thumb . Although, sometimes I have followed such a rule only to have the grey-haired customer speed through while I'm waiting behind the teenager who has to get a price check on a bottle of Snapple... -Mark-
  25. Bet you have a good story from that experience . If you are waiting in line for an ungodly amount of time and you can use your hands, I just think it makes it so much more convenient for everyone just to write out the check yourself ahead of time. -Mark-
