I usually go to a place like World Market or Central Market to find unique goodies. He LOVES trying the new things and I have a blast trying to find stuff for him each year. I usually put in a travel game of some sort as well. DH normally puts nail polish, hair clips, toe socks, and things like that in mine.

I usually wear jeans, sweatshirt, t-shirt, toe socks, and tennis shoes.

Thanks for putting this together Eve!!

I have my names......Time To Shop!!
-
We give eachother a list of things we would like to find under the tree. It is usually several small items (under $10) and one or two bigger items. This year is different because DH just wants things to go downrange with him. So, more $$$ spent on him this year than usual. Most years we have a limit of $150 for eachother. This year DH is getting a new laptop, iPod, Boots, flame retardent shirts, and some resin gun magazines.

Thanks! One step closer to Christmas!

We do stockings:D When I was young and times were really lean we still had stockings. Might not have had anything else but we always had something in our stocking. DH and I have a blast filling stockings for eachother now. We also fill one for our Pug. We fill them sometime during the night and try to sneak it out to the livingroom with out the other person knowing. :cheesy:We put Maggie's out Christmas morning. The dog gets so excited when she sees her stocking and loves digging her goodies out.

We had a new Target open in August and there were a lot of "New Store Price" tags through out the store. Also, at the grand opening they had an appetizer buffet, cake, punch, and a string quartet for entertainment. The pharmacy gave away bags full of samples and air freshner sets. They also had employees about every three aisles giving out samples of Target brand products. Two of the best deals we took advantage of that day was $2 12 packs of Coke and Dr Pepper products and also a great 10 sheet paper shredder for $19. Have Fun!

Share your suggestions for improving BF & win a BF t-shirt - CONTEST OVER!
hockeyfanamo replied to Brad's topic in 2008
I would like to see them make sure there is plenty of "moving around" room in the store. One Target store that I BF shop does this. They move out unneccessary junk and it makes it easier to manuever and less chaotic. I think serving coffee or cider to the waiting crowd would be a great gesture as well. The stores that do not have a sales associate stationed in each main area (toys, electronics, etc) should. Quicker we can find the items and have questions answered the faster we will be out of their hair. That's my 2 cents! -
I agree with the idea of sending a family present. A movie basket or game night basket would do the trick.

Before I got married I would hold a Christmas Eve dinner at my apartment. My family doesn't really do much for Christmas so this was a way to get people together. My husband and I love to go around to the different neighborhoods and look at the lights. We also purchase a special ornament each year.
-
We usually only take about $300. We never really go for the big ticket items but all the small ones add up.

My husband and I cook for ourselves and a couple of soldiers that aren't able to go home.

I work in a civilian position for Uncle Sam. My boss will let me take "comp" time so that I don't dip into sick or personal leave.

How Much Christmas/Hanukah Shopping Have You Finished
hockeyfanamo replied to shopping mom's topic in 2008
I'm finished with our youngest niece. This year we got her a pink DS, Padded Case, and 3 games. My Mom, MIL, and Mamaw each get goodie baskets each year. I have started them with B&BW, and a season each of thier favorite TV series. I usually end up finding small items that they would like and adding them until I mail out the baskets. They seem to really enjoy the suprise each year. They just never know what will be in them Our nephew will get giftcards and I'm not sure for my Sister in Law. -
You've got mail!

What are some of your Black Friday traditions (besides shopping)?
hockeyfanamo replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2008
DH and I decide what store to start at the night before. We decide on a budget and get some sleep. After hitting a couple of stores we head to breakfast. Always a fun time together. -
How many years have you been going shopping on Black Friday?
hockeyfanamo replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2008
This will be my 6th shopping BF. I went one other year when I was still in high school many moons ago.
