I think a music exchange could work nicely. It would be a way for the family members to share what they like and open minds to genres outside of their normal listening habits.

DH and I love to watch Two Weeks Notice, Miss Congeniality, and Sweet Home Alabama. Those are about the only "chic" movies that he really enjoys.

First....a HUGE THANK YOU to my Secret Santa! I received my box today!!! You can't know how much I needed a smile today. I received a wonderful travel mug, a two year planner, a set of Burt's Bees goodies, Nips candies, and a Chocolate Covered Strawberries trinket box. I hope I didn't forget anything. You truly made my day and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

That was a fantastic warm fuzzy story! I'm glad that you were able to get the mp3 and thankful that there are people who are in the spirit of the season.

I say do a crockpot of chili, get a precooked ham, and make a huge batch of potato soup. Have cheese, bacon, chives for the soup. Have a couple of cornbread mixes (just add egg and milk) for the chili. Have bread and cheese for ham sandwiches...Eggs for ham omelets...some potatoes and fry ham and potatoes together...

I have a laptop to buy on payday (Thursday) and one $50 giftcard left to purchase. I spent way more this year than normal mainly on my husband. All other family and friends I found great deals and spent about $200 and that includes a DS Lite! The final total for DH will be about $1500. OUCH! Normally we don't spend more than $150-200 on eachother.

There wasn't anything that I had to have this year so I headed out to Walmart at 8AM. I figured by then some of the initial crush would be gone. I was suprised that there were still a lot of big items (tv's) and most of the little items (dvd's, games) were gone. I picked up some dvd's and pricematched the ones that I could with Target. I was disappointed to see an employee walking around with sales ads pulling dvd's that were in other ads. When I asked about one particular dvd they told me to check back on Sunday. Spoil sport. The only thing I wanted and didn't get was the Namco Wii game for $16. I will just order it online at regular price.

I walked down the block to the pancake house and got a newspaper this morning. All of my local ads were in there!

I just saw an ad for HEB Plus that included a blue DS Lite for $99.99!!! If you are in an area that has an HEB Plus it would be worth checking out!

I received a fabulous box of goodies from "G.Dealer". I thought that was quite creative of you! I received a box of mixed teas, a snowman frame, a doggie pastry, and two very cute ornaments. THANK YOU so much!!! You definitely put a smile on my face today.

Looks like I will go down the street to Walmart first to pick up some inexpensive DVD's. After that I will head over to Target and see what jumps out at me. I'm done with my actual Christmas shopping so there is no pressure!

Two to the sandbox, one for someone here, one for the youngest neice, and one to my Mamaw.

We live in an apartment so we don't really decorate outside much. I put greenery with lights along the balcony, seasonal door mat, and wreath on the door. I will put that up the weekend after Thanksgiving.

We aren't staging for Christmas cards but we are having our picture taken in December. We are going to Fort Worth to see The Nutcracker at Bass Hall. My SIL is a photographer and she is meeting us at our hotel and will be staging some photos for us. I really wanted more pics of DH and I together before this visit to the sandbox. I'm soooo greatful that she offered her services! We will have pics taken at several locations in Sundance Square. I'm very excited!

The best Christmas bonus I ever received was when I worked for a manufacturing plant. It ended up being a little over $800 after taxes. They also gave out turkey and fixings to all permanant employees for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm sure things are leaner there this year. They started voluntary lay offs in October. I'm considered a temporary employee with Uncle Sam so no bonus for me this year.

I LOOOOVVEE the after Christmas sales! I stock up on wrapping paper, tape, bows, lights, and I usually find Command hooks clearanced as well. It's pretty much a game for me to find the biggest percentage off!

Now the only gift I still need is a laptop for DH. Everything else is purchased and in hiding!

I only have one incident with vehicles on BF. I was in my car warming up BF 2005. A female got into the car next to me and started backing up. She ended up hitting my car on the back panel. Turns out she was 12 and was there with her aunt who was waiting in line. She was only supposed to go get a pair of gloves out of the car. She decided she should move the car closer. It was an expensive BF for her aunt's insurance company!
