Family Fun Magazine $1.49/10 issues ~ Vegetarian Times $1.99/10 issues
alimfp replied to Marcster's topic in Online Hot Deals
OMG, perfect timing! I am getting Vegetarian Times for a friend for Christmas, she'll love it!!! Thank you! -
I'd go with Dell, get a refurb and use a coupon code - they have awesome codes as well. Just think of it like this - buy a crappy laptop and need a new one in a year, or buy a good laptop for a couple hundred more (if that) and have it last many years. I am NOT saying laptops from Overstock are crappy, but sometimes it's worth paying a bit more for electronics.. but Dell has great deals as I've said anyway.

It's only 4'x5'.. not that big, I like BIG blankets.

He's posted 74 times since joining. His post count updates in all previous posts he made. So if I made a post now and had 2,000 posts after this reply. I can go and reply elsewhere and my post count on this thread a few minutes ago will say 2,001. I don't know how else to explain it. Other than it updates in real time on all posts of yours in the past. Otherwise it'd be confusing to know how many posts someone had, as you'd have to find their most recent post to see the count.

Contest Entry: Apple iPod Shuffle 512MB MP3 Player?

eBay or CraigsList. You would have to find a pretty darn forgiving person in upper management at the store to give you the 100% refund (and it would probably take forever to plead your case and not be worth the time!).

Call In ~ Discovery(.com) coupon code for $10 off of $10 (YMMV!)
alimfp replied to alimfp's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Oh, LOVE the money jar. One of my sons is really into counting his money, that'd be neat! -
One, I did not know you were buying online. Two, as I stated above, when I thought you were buying at a B&M, some stores seemed to have changed to a 30 day policy. It was meant as a simple and polite FYI. I knew what their site stated, but again, just trying to save you some money and stress if possible. That was all.
-
I wouldn't return it honestly, I'd turn around and sell it on eBay or CraigsList. You'll take less of a hit financially IMO. That said, Kayakmom - call your local Costco and ask about their laptop and camera return policy. It seems some Costco's through out the U.S. are only returning for 30 days while some are still holding to the six month policy. :)

This one! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007OWOXU/102-1941197-5305720?v=glance&n=541966 Nice, congrats! :) -
I personally don't recommend Hallmark (and no, this is not because of the recent order cancellations). I have placed four orders through them and either the orders were delayed (for days!), or they were "forgotten" yet I was still charged. Anyway, there's Flower.com Some codes.. comeback for $7.50 off, and save5 for $5 off. 1-800-flowers.com also has a code for $10 off $39.99 or more, code is M99 and exp 12/31/05 OR 15% off your purchase, code is AE33 and exp 06/30/06. Hallmark.com has a code for 20% off, it is VISA and exp 02/28/06. JustFlowers.com has a code for $10 off, it is WELCOME with no exp.

Debbie - These stores typically let you return if you are not satisfied within 14 (or 30) days for any reason at all. Ditto CheapArse, it keeps people from "renting" things usually. I think 15% is a lot, but I have only returned one item (to Best Buy I think?) in the last few years and had to pay the fee. The associates usually tell customers of this fee, though I don't think they are held liable (for the purchase, etc) if they forget. But you agree to the terms on the back of the receipt when you purchase the item (even with cash).

Many stores like Circuit City do this. I've seen this exact post on other forums as well. Ugh.

Siruis Satellite Radio No Rebate
alimfp replied to leefamily23's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
We bought our Sirius Sportster radio at Circuit City a few months ago. It was $100, no rebate. I see they are offered on their site for $150 or so with a car mounting kit I think but that has the $50 rebate. So you may try calling Circuit City or Best Buy and asking them. Maybe their B&M stores differ from online when it comes to what is available as far as satellite radios, they were different for us anyway. :) -
Yep, it's tonight that you put something out (or early tmo morning). :) I just read up on it the other day. :)

Update: YMMV. Seems some reps are telling people the order must be over $10, other reps are saying it can be any amt! OP: You MUST call in!!! Due to excessive site traffic, Discovery has a $10 off code (SITE05), but it must be phoned in: 1-800-227-1114 After hours number (not sure of hours though), 1-800-627-9399 Call and tell them the sku and/or number of the item you want off of the site. Discovery Shopping Link and then give them the coupon code. Most items come with free shipping. If your balance is under $10, you do NOT have to give CC info!

Reliable site with digital camera reviews
alimfp replied to Corpun's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I personally have the Canon Powershot A95 ($400 new). But the Powershot line seems to be very nice and reliable. I love mine! We also had an Olympus and bought my Mother in Law one as well. Our Olympus was 3-4 years old and did very well, and we sold it to a friend and it's still working. Mother in Law's is very nice, it was $150 new from Target. I forget the specific model though. I highly recommend Canon or Olympus for that price range. -
It was originally posted in the coupons, freebies & sweeps forum.

I do toiletries everytime!! You can get so many for near free or free with coupons as well.

Overstock has one for $59 You could go to the Online Hot Deals forum and see the sticky and ask Overstock Adam for a better deal as well maybe. JcPenney's has them for under $100 as well And finally, see this link for more great deals! If you buy one online, make sure to look for a coupon code first (or ask here and someone can find one for you hopefully).

Reliable site with digital camera reviews
alimfp replied to Corpun's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I agree with CheapArse, dpreview.com!! They also have awesome forums for a lot of the cameras (esp SLR's (expensive ones, lol)). :) -
I was hoping for the same thing actually. I'd be more than willing to help in moving all of the threads into their own seperate child forums as well. :)

Memory Cards for Digital Cameras
alimfp replied to kelbel0731's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Going with what Ross said, you can get SD memory cards at most any retailer that sells digital cam accessories or cameras themselves. Best Buy has them on their site for 10% off right now (and then you could select in store pickup, though shipping is free if you want to wait). To give you an idea on space, it depends at what quality setting you have the camera set at - but on regular settings, I can take about 150 pics on my 256mb memory card. :) If your sister will just use it for everyday point and shoot, I'd get a 256mb card probably. I recommend SanDisk (manufacturer). Best Buy has a 256 card for $40. A 128mb card is $26 right now. Hope that helps some. :)
