I do a basket of freebies that I acquire throughout the year. Costs me noothing. Or I do a decorative plate of baked good in an inexpensive themed tin. Two gifts in one!

And I have had issues with Best Buy price matching. I have to go to customer service and they have to call the store to see if they have it in stock. Sounds like we have opposite issues!

You answer questions about likes and dislikes for the ornament exchange. If you say you want a particular ornament that's no fun who shops for you! But you can say your tree is a certain theme! In the past I list what I collect and what I like. But your shopper should respect your dislikes too. So if you say no glass then you shouldn't get glass ornaments. We all have things come up in life so we plan for elves in case something happens and someone can't fulfil their obligation. That is why the same people run it every year. But if you flaked last time you won't be allowed back in this year.

Call your local dept of child services to see about adopting a foster child. Most agencies do not give foster families additional money for Christmas gifts.

As my kids get older and their wants/needs get smaller, I find myself shopping less in advance. When they were younger, I would normally have the majority of my shopping already done come September. I miss Christmas shopping!

I have been filling and refilling all my scripts at CVS lately and everytime I do, I get a $25 Gift card. Been saving those for those turkey day freebies! But where I live you have to be there within an hour of them opening or they are all gone. Depending on the product, you may be able to get a rain check too!

Yep - cause HP has yet to confirm the price of those 100K Touchpads. Why would they sell them at a loss when they know they could sell them for more?

DD20 and I had this discussion the other day. She wished someone would have told her she should have just bought a TI-89 calculator - which is what she needs now in college.
