Everything is bought and wrapped, now there is nothing left to do but WAIT. It's nice to be prepared ahead of time, but I actually like having something to do!
I always just watched them like a hawk, and tried to keep them close to me. It's all just a part of having little ones. You can't really expect people to childproof their homes if they don't have small children LIVING there.
These are VERY hard to find! I bought one last month at Toys R Us - there were only two on the shelf. At that time, toysrus.com and amazon.com had them, but wanted nearly $10 to ship them. I just checked and now it doesn't seem to be available at all. Maybe check eBay if you're desperate.
If a product is defective, it shouldn't matter if you have the original packaging. They're not going to be reselling it anyway. As long as you have your receipt, I wouldn't hesitate to return it.
I did most of my shopping on BF, got everything I wanted at great prices. Regardless, I would rather pay a little bit more and get everything I want, then wait and take the chance that stuff will be sold out.

I was thinking about this, too! We have all the Christmas specials on dvd, plus they're on tv over and over between Thanksgiving and Christmas...now they don't seem so "special" anymore.
