I'm taking my 11yo daughter with me for the first time.

My daughter is 11 and doesn't have one. I told her when she started going places by herself then I'd get her one. I just don't think she needs one right now.

My kids all have the same number of presents under the tree. They are still pretty young (11, 5, and 3) so they don't really care how much we spend on each of them. We just try to get them some of the things they want. If that means we end up spending $400 on one and $200 on the other two, that's fine as long as they are happy with what they recieve.

All of ours come out on Thanksgiving day. No grocery coupons but sometimes they'll have store specific coupons in them.

If you want to keep your tree pretty, buy a fake one. I'd love to have a real tree but I don't want to wait until 2 weeks before Christmas to put it up. Ours always goes up a day before Thanksgiving and who knows when we take it down.
