  1. I get very nervous when I am waiting to make my online purchases, especially the laptop deals. It is so stressful and I always feel nervous that I will miss out.
  2. http://www.amazon.com/Triple-Chocolate-Pralines-Box-12/dp/B0026LE2JG/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1445649951&sr=8-10&keywords=Aunt+Sallys+pralines These would make a wonderful gift for ME! In fact, if I won the gift card I will buy these! I just visited the Aunt Sally's store in New Orleans and it was wonderful! I ordered a box of these 2 days before hurricane Katrina and this company delivered them to me just 2 months after the area was destroyed. They will always be my favorites!
  3. The Dell laptop is usually midnight on Thanksgiving. Wasn't it like 2 or 3 AM sometimes in the past?
  4. I am in Hampton Roads, VA but I do most everything from my house!
  5. OK, I just snagged the Dell lap top for $189 at midnight. Last year I had 2 laptops open and still had to call to get one - the site crashed and everything. This year was much smoother, although I got a little worried when my payment took awhile to process. This year a little message popped up and told me I was in line and not to refresh my browser. Seems like they learned from last year!
  6. Dell put their XBox One Holiday Bundle on sale early in the day instead of the stated 6pm time, so I was able to get it. They are also offering interest free financing for some period of time on game systems. I found that Best Buy has the cheapest price on popular XBox One games. I grabbed Fifa 15 for only $30; that's half price!
  7. I just logged on and found the XBox One deal from Dell is already available So I grabbed one. Forgot to factor for $20 sales tax, but at least I got free shipping.
  8. I just signed on to see what was going on with Dell and was so happy to see the XBox one Holiday bundle is already on sale! So I ordered it and forgot to factor for tax :-( so it was about $20 more than I thought. My bad.
  9. Does anyone know what time the prices change for Dell that are not doorbusters?
  10. My son's Alieware laptop came from Dell. I like to finance those purchases through Dell.
  11. So happy to have been selected to win! Can't wait to receive it!
  12. I used to get a jar of olives in my stocking, because I always ate all the olives from the relish tray before Christmas dinner. With my own jar I could have them all to myself to suck the pimento out of! My Goddaughter always wants (and receives) a 6 pack of root beer.
  13. I will decorate the first weekend in Dec and the tree stays up until Epiphany or Twelfth Night - Jan 6th. I do take down Santa related stuff after the 25th.
  14. My son would have loved this to go see the Eagles play!
  15. I would celebrate the 12 days of Christmas, starting Dec 25th until Jan 6th. Put some gifts aside and open one each day of the season until the wise men find the baby on the 6th. The other idea is buy a bunch of holiday themed books, wrap them up, every night one child chooses one and the older kids can read them to the younger ones. Have a bunch of small wrapped gifts (generic gifts). Read A Visit from St Nicholas and every time the word 'the' is read, they pass a gift to the right. When the story is over, they get to open the gift they end up with. Celebrate a version of Boxing Day on Dec 26th. Have them find one thing that is still in great condition from their stash of stuff, and place it in a box to donate to the local shelter or thrift shop.

    elf shelf

I personally dislike elf on a shelf so I don't do it. But some people just love it.
  17. I love a real tree, but it is too warm where I live so the needles drop off about 5 minutes after it comes in the house. One year it was so bad that I worried the whole season that someone would touch it and it would lose all of the remaining needles. So I bought a huge artificial tree, and we have used it for about 20 years. My husband hates to put it up, but it's only once a year so he can handle it.
  18. I did not grow up with this tradition and did not do it with my kids, but when I went to Germany 2 years ago I bought a pickle ornament from the Kristkindlemart. So now i hang it on my tree but I don't hide it or have anyone look for it. I did read that the child who finds the pickle gets to open the first gift.
  19. I only have 2 kids, both in college now. So to keep Christmas morning from being over in 5 seconds, I wrapped the 'Santa' gifts and they each opened one gift at a time (simultaneously). But I did that for me to enjoy. When I was a kid Santa did not wrap and we all just came down and started playing.

  21. Buy Microsoft Office for students on amazon. They have a good deal.
  22. Last year I was signed in on 2 laptops and got one door buster into my cart right at midnight, and before I could check out they were all sold out. Then I waited a little while and they released more; those went in the time you can even realize they have loaded more. So I called right away and got through, which was a miracle because by the time I hung up there were like 10 million calls waiting. Anyway, they let me order one by phone, it arrived, and is perfect. A desk top may not be as hot as a laptop so you may have a few more seconds to grab it. Just don't get too frustrated and try all the options to get one - in fact, if you have 2 computers, put someone else on the other computer to try as well.
  23. I would buy from Dell online. I would get the XBox One Holiday bundle for $329, I would get 2 laptops for $169 each, I would get an extra controller or two for the Xbox. That would give me a little extra for some upgrades or accessories.
  24. I think I will be venturing out for this sale - love that the discount is off all items, including sale items.
