I was looking at the laptops but I can't tell anything about the specs. I need one with a DVD drive and they don't come standard anymore. No drastic door buster either.

I saw a $10 battery operated phone charger on Amazon that I think is excellent for a stocking stuffer. I also am putting wallets with gift cards in them in the stockings, cologne, and candy favorites.

I almost always get one of the Dell door busters and they sell out in a flash. One year, maybe it was last year, they refreshed their stock and it too was gone before you could even process that thought and hit click. Now if you want some of the pricier stuff then you can get it but the laptop door buster and things like that? Prepare for a backup plan. Like for example the next day they have a laptop for $229 which is significantly more than the $149 doorbuster but also remember the door buster is not much more than a tablet - it comes with no CD/DVD drive it is totally stripped down. I made that mistake one year when I could have grabbed something a bit more functional but I didn't realize that a DVD drive is not standard anymore. One year I missed the laptop deal and got one at Office Max for just about $30 more but at least I could put it in my cart and check out. So frustrating!

I am constantly looking at the ads to see what time the online sales start for the items I want so I can strategize where I need to be and what time - as though the ad is going to change, lol!

Dell has alienware computers on sale but still be prepared to spend a whole lot!

I stay out of the stores. One time I was at KMart and I asked a clerk where some digital key chains were located. Someone heard me ask and followed us over to the area and grabbed all the ones that were left right as the clerk was showing me. I decided right there and then that I needed to just go home and shop online.

I like the little glitter houses that look like little Japanese putz houses. They are easy to make and so pretty.

I hate how early they start and then they cut it off like Dec 26th. Ugh!

I will decorate the first weekend in December. I will have family visiting for Thanksgiving so I won't have time to start that weekend.

Yes, I collect ornaments. I have a very large collection of antique and vintage ornaments. For my tree I put a frame ornament with a photo of my sons on the tree for each year - this is my 21st year. I have a tree full of ornaments from places I've been and things that are memories for me and my family. Sometimes I display my antique ornaments at a local museum and fill about 10 trees.

I picked up a few things at a Fossil outlet when I was on a trip, but for the most part I wait.

Boscovs used to do a little village and they gave away little houses I think because my grandfather liked to get his house each year for the village on top of his TV set.

OK- well I have probably been actively shopping on Black Friday probably since 1993. I plan to spend probably about the same or a little more I will be only shopping online I will be by myself If I could change one thing I would ask the stores to have enough supply to meet demand.

Today is the day I hope I win something! So I recommend a novel by Daniel Steel available on Kindle called Winners. This is for those who like quick reads and fluffy romantic books.

My worst memory is staying up until I guess it was 2 or 3 am for a laptop to go on sale on best buy only to finally see the price change and flicker to say IN STORE ONLY. I thought I was having a nightmare. I quickly shifted gears and got on the Office Max web site and snagged one there - deal not as good but at least I could actually purchase it.

I know it sounds crazy but Dell. I am always in the market for a laptop and I have a Dell preferred account so I go there. This year son needs a new laptop but the base model on mega sale won't meet his needs

Like many posters I don't really have a budget. I wish I did, but most of what I buy I just hope the deal is so good that I can't resist it so it makes it easier to justify the purchase.

I actually got inspired to start a small Christmas list for myself that I gave to my husband. It's going to be here in the blink of an eye!

I am not a very good black friday shopper, so I pretty much just focus on the gifts I need to buy and don't get anything for myself.
