I have 5 girls..and 4 and hubby are all recruited to go wait in line at different stores! We have 2 Wal-Marts so am hoping at least one of us will belucky on the laptop/gameboy deals!

Our local media (mainly paper) has asked people NOT to shop at Walmart this season due to the low wages employees make...(I worked there..I must admit they are TERRIBLE!) I didn't know until today about this..and have been searching to see if it's one or media outlets.

I worked at one of our cities 2 Wal-marts...and the one I didnt work at had a expensive doll that my 6 yr old at the time had been wanting very badly and I had been checking on weekly.....this was last summer for her bday. I FOUND ONE!...I was soo excited...but no price..and couldnt find the price anywhere...not even when scanned...I found an employee and had them check...with no luck. The finally took it to the store manager..and because he didnt have it listed...I wasn't allowed to buy the doll...they took it off the floor...(hmm..wonder what HE did with it...)I doubty he shipped it back. BTW..this doll IS available online..and at the other Walmart. (just very popular)

I tried scanning the cabbage patch babies today.. no luck on bf prices.

Hmm.....I have a gameboyadvancesp in layaway and just got back from walmart...decided to leave it a few more days.....but if I can bring the receipt back on BF and they will give me the difference..I'd rather get it out now..while I can....anyone know if this is the normal practice..to let you bring your receipt in and get the difference?

Yes, when I was working (up unto 6 weeks ago) I had to go when I had the time and energy. I always preferred to shop immediately after work or an hour or so before the store I needed to go to closed.

I think alot has to do with perception. I know ALOT of people who work with my dh...so I KNOW how much money they basically deal with...and they turn their nose up to ANYTHING cheap....of course..they are also in debt up the wazoo..lol..and we are not. I asked one of my dh's buddies wives if she liked to go to BF and other sales..she looked as if I had told her I was from anotehr planet..but so sweetly informed me...they really didnt need to wait for that ...besides....after they spent a $1,000 on each child..she was exhausted...hmmmm..(the children are 6 and 4)

Our K B Toys in the mall always gives out HUGE clear plastic bags and makes people walk thru the isles like a snake.....and you arent allowed to get out of line unless it is to LEAVE..lol. It's a big headache because it prevents you from going to other places...it takes a coupel HOURS...but its also a good idea..because you get what you want usually.

Thanks for the info! I am really hoping that Walmart and a couple others do the online doorbusters...I love BF..but soo hate the lines. It wouldnt be so bad if people were more respectful and not so dang grumpy..ok..I know..its five am..lol..but still......why go if you arent going to enjoy yourself at least a little!

Kudos to you guys that go on the weekend! I have to say...unless its a one or two day only..or I really think it will sell out...I wait until Monday...and preferably NOT the first of the month before I do a day of shopping..lol. I relish the 8 am hour at Walmart weekdays..lol. Take the kids to school..spend an hour in Walmart..then move to the others as they open.

I would also try Walmart...they have a pretty good selection of instruments....my 14 yr old daughter has been after an electric guitar...I am hoping if I ignore the plea..it will go away..lol

I think I will probably try to get it...after alot of research and looking for some kind of deal..she is 17 and graduating this year..and a great kid...lol..but she better be getting allllllll A's for until they throw her out the school!..lol

We are getting a Kohl's in my city! They are only at approx 50% built..so no Christmas opening..gggrr......but at least there will be....BF2006! I have never shopped a Kohl's but have been keeping a keen eye on the website and signed up for sale alerts....so hoping it works out well.

My 17 year old informed me today she really, really wants the PSP...well I thought she meant a new version of Paint Shop Pro.... instead I am informed NO..this is....Playstation Portable..hmmm:grandpa: I kow I am getting old...but dang..lol. We have 3 systems now, PS2, xbox and GameboyAdvance...is this really worth the investment?..And does anyone have any idea the price range I should expect? (Sounds like the unlimited minute cell phone would have been cheaper!!)

I must be in the minority....but I have heard some very good things about HP...which is why I am willing to wait in line on BF at Walmart...I will be replacing a laptop that finally gave out on me last year..and I already/still have all the router, wireless card..etc...but maybe it's from experience..but nothing could make me buy another Dell.....I have had nothing but problems from my Dell since day one..and it took me TWO years to get someone to replace the motherboard..which was suppose to correct the problem immediately...and instead it simply delayed the same behavior a couple weeks before it started back up. I have had to reinstall everything at least 2-3 dozen times in 3 years.....and..btw..this was at...DELLS TECHNICAL SUPPORT'S suggestion that has left me with basically a pc I have been using with nothing that can be retained for long. I can't wait to replace the desktop for my girls also next year.

I have bought several smaller things in the past..but havent bought in over a year.....I really wanted to sell some things on ebay.....but the trouble it takes to figure it all out...I havent thought it worth the work. One of my friends makes good money as a sahm selling small things here and there....I have ALOT I could sell...but wow....I hate the thought of it..lol

Most are very nice.....but I usually have sooo many cards from buying them the year before at after christmas sales...I probably wouldnt need them.

We have a 7.5 foot prelit...so we go back and forth...depends on what everyone wants to see....but outside...I have lots and lots of dancing, twinkling lights all over.

Nope, and nope..lol. I take them all down a day or two after Christmas...I rarely even wait until New Year's...for me..once its over..it is OVER..lol.

After five kids...I do not have the memory cells left to wrap now..lol. I wait until a couple nights before and wrap it all at once. Until then I keep it hidden in the attic, closets, kitchen buffet...anywhere the kids are least likely to look..lol.
