Walmart put out an email telling you when they had them-they sold out fast. Get on the alert list. Game Stop emailed me once that they were getting them in select stores. Best Buy had me on their list and I heard they sold out but I never was notified. Someone told me they had called Target and they had them so I went over immediately and got one for my daughter for a gift. After preorder game stop was holding them for a couple of days then putting them out if they hadn't been picked up.I think it's just hit and miss. Some stores will tell you if they expect them...if they expect them in their shipment, you probably should be there when they open.

I hate shopping at stores that have higher prices either online or in stores. It just seems dishonest to have to pay more one way or the other. I try to avoid those stores as a general rule-not just at Christmas.

Limited doorbuster items. Rude people. Early opening of stores.

I liked Circuit City and Comp USA. They were close, had great sales and gave Best Buy some competition.

The coupon giveaway gets me. I go with my daughter if she wants to go. I won $100 one year. I'm hooked. lol

Mostly online...unless something I really want is in stores only.

When do the Black Friday ads for the Verizon store come out. They had some good deals last year

So far I'm not impressed.

Last year's sale was great. I'm hoping they have similar sales this year.

I'm hoping they have smart TVs on sale this year for a good price.

At least daily when I have internet access and several times a day if I can.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you can get on sale for Black Friday. But...the last time I bought a laptop, I found the prices before Black Friday in early November were as good or better.

I like when Black Friday is later. More time to plan for it.

Some things go on sale as cheap now as Black Friday. If it is something that is really useful to have before Black Friday that looks like a good price and probably will not go cheaper on Black Friday, get it now. Some stores/credit cards will let you return the item or report a lower price and give you back the difference in price so you can buy now and worry less about the price going lower. But if a store offers a price with a gift card or store cash or something similar it will probably make the price lower overall so waiting might pay off. If it is a must have toy or limited edition item you better buy it when you see it and not risk missing out while trying to find a lower price. Same if you want multiples of the same item for multiple gifts because Black Friday deals are often limited to 1 per person and may not be back in stock after Black Friday.

A few came earlier in the week but the big mass of ads that usually come on Thursday must be coming Thursday because there were no ads today. Sad since most stores already have their Black Friday sales online.

My friend has asked at customer service before and they have let her use expired Kohl's cash the following week- they say it can be used as long as the system accepts it.. I try to use mine before it expires. I usually buy washcloths or dish towels if I can't find something I want.Then I have a ready gift or something I can always use.

Yes! It's hard to find anything good any more. If you sort price low to high, it takes pages to get to anything that might be good.

I think spending overall will be down due to the uncertainty of privitization of Social Security which the Republicans have wanted for a long time and worry about repeal of obamacare which will leave many with high health care costs.
