  1. I bought one at Target today.(joint gift for my dad) I got the 8gb for $195.00, I had a 10% off coupon which took off $19.50 and they gave me a $20 Target gift card. Before taxes it came to $175.50. I also saved about $2 in taxes since the purchase price was less because of the coupon. Printable 10% off coupon http://coupons.target.com/electronics-coupons
  2. Which system are you looking for? Amazon is doing a buy 1 get 1 for 50% off. They do have Call of Duty, but they don't have NCAA listed. Not sure if you're looking for any other games, but it may be worth a look. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=br_lf_m_1000748441_grlink_2?ie=UTF8&plgroup=2&docId=1000748441
  3. Would he like the Alfie robot? It doesn't have a remote control, but it looks pretty cool and has good reviews. http://www.amazon.com/Playskool-39350-Alphie/dp/B003CRJU36/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1321396457&sr=8-2 http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/Files_Main/37D587DA19B9F36910960AA87BB9F427.jpg
  4. Is the 10% off coupon a coupon you get for using the Target Redcard? *I think I found it online. We're going in on one for my Dad and while the $40 gc is nice (BF) If I can get it now for 10% off + a $20 gc then I don't need to wait inline on BF. Thanks everyone!
  5. If you use a paper stencil, you may be able to use a repositionable adhesive to hold it on.
  6. For my mom this year we're going in on a netbook for her. She mostly surfs the web and gathers ancestry info. This will be her computer, my dad has agreed to leave it alone unless she asks for help. DH is going to get it updated for her and we're going to make a folder and fill it with photos. She'll be able to pull it out of the box, turn it on and be ready to go.
  7. This lady on Etsy makes neck pillows with buckwheat hulls and they can be microwaved or chilled. She also makes beautiful purses! http://www.etsy.com/listing/80646493/buckwheat-buddy-neck-and-eye-pillow I hope you're getting lots of good ideas for your mom!
  8. I bought a necklace like this for my mom last year and she LOVES it! http://www.etsy.com/listing/63111432/hand-stamped-sterling-necklace-charm-is If she isn't wearing jewelry around her neck then maybe a bracelet would work.
  9. If you do decide to get her one you can disable the 3D feature in the parental controls. Then it's more like a regular DS. Do you think she would like the regular DS? Or does she really want the 3D feature?
  10. Sometimes I see them at stores like Ross and Marshals and they're a little less than Target.
  11. There are a few things that I may try to get. This whole midnight opening thing is not my idea of fun. (shop by myself and I don't see as well driving at night.) So I may or may not go. I would be thrilled if Amazon matched some of these deals. :) Was everything marked as a doorbuster? It sure seemed like it. They probably do that so you can't price match as easily or at all.

  13. I didn't see a $10 gift card this year.
  14. Have you looked at the Lowes ad yet? http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/BlackFridaySales/Store/Lowes
  15. You should consider donating the paper to a thrift store or local charity that gives gifts to kids. I see wrapping paper at thrift stores all the time.
  16. You could look for some ideas on Etsy. Some of the stores sell patterns for the things they sell. www.etsy.com
  17. Yes you can. Check out the thrift stores in your area. They should be starting to put Christmas decorations out. You may be able to find a tree and all kinds of kid ornaments. Here's a 4ft Pre-lit tree for $39.99 + super saver shipping at Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/SW-223-40-Celebrations-Prelit-Colored-Lights/dp/B005JFBXD4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320779628&sr=8-1 You all can even make ornaments for the tree. I still have a few that I made when I was a kid. All you'd need is some felt, fabric glue, glitter, ribbon, etc... (I have a small pine cone that has glitter on it and a loop for hanging made out of a plastic beaded necklace. :) Michaels and Hobby Lobby has a lot of wooden ornaments that you can decorate with markers or paint. You may be able to find characters that the kids like too. Have fun!
  18. The Macbook has been discontinued, but you still may be able to find it in store until their current supply sells out or online as a refurb. Your other options are the Macbook Air and the Macbook Pro. The Macbook Air is an awesome light weight computer, but it doesn't have a disk drive. The Macbook Pro is also a really nice computer, but you may not need that much power. Your best bet may be buying a refurbished Macbook on Apple.com Their stock is always changing so if you don't see what you're looking for then check back. You should also see if there are any Mac repair places in you area, they often sell computers too. The Apple store does have a BF sale, but the discount isn't a lot. However, it's still better than paying full retail. If you work in education or for the government you may be able to get a discount on Apple.com, but check first to make sure you qualify. http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/mac
  19. I started off with the shuffle and I still have it. I've dropped it many times. It's about 5 years old (maybe older) and is still going strong. I wanted the shuffle because it clips on to my shirt when I'm working out. My shuffle is pink and I have pink iLuv earbuds. I bought the ear buds at Marshals for about $6.99. The pair I bought had three different sizes of silicon covers to have a more custom fit. They also had volume control on the cord which was really nice while working out.
  20. If you're concerned about storage space you can save their game progress on a usb flash drive. DH plays the Halo games and has been re-playing Mass Effect 2. He hasn't had any issues saving progress on a usb flash drive and the best part? They're inexpensive.
  21. Check with the Salvation Army, your kids school and social service agencies in your area. You may still consider talking to your church. They may be able to help or can direct you to an organization that can. You should probably contact them ASAP so you can get on a list in time for Christmas.
  22. It's been looking like Christmas outside the past week. We got 12" of snow on Oct 28th which has already melted away. Then we got about 9" yesterday, and it's already melting. Another sign for me is the holiday cups at Starbucks. Those red cups make me happy! :)
