  1. Happy to see the iTunes deal, can always use those. I see a few stocking stuffer ideas too. The 20% off coupon if you spend $75 or more is good. (For use Dec 1st- Dec 7th) I liked the other way they would handle it too. I don't recall what the amounts were last year, but something like $5 off $50 or $10 off $100. At first it kinda annoyed me that they changed the way they did the discount, because I would like to have the money off right away, but I'm sure I'll be back there the first week of December.
  2. Grocery store gift cards, iTunes gift cards, movie theatre gift cards, rolls of quarters for laundry or a new phone. Bicycle for getting around campus? Just add a helmet and light? Does he have any hobbies or favorite musicians? Concert tickets would be cool or tickets to a sporting event? Does he fish? New tackle box. Is he a runner? Gift card to a local running store or Sports Authority. Hope you all enjoy your trip!
  3. I don't know anything about the Roku. We have an Apple TV and I really enjoy it. It comes with a remote and you can also download an app on your iPad, Touch or iPhone and use that as a remote too. I listen to music with Apple Radio and all of the movies DH has purchased through iTunes are on there as well. We also have Netflix, Hulu, HBO Go, Vimeo etc. through the Apple TV. I like that it's small so it doesn't take up your entire tv stand. (About 3"x 3"x 1") Target has it for $99.99 plus a $10 Target gc this week. (Nov 3-9)
  4. I am already thinking of some gift ideas for family and friends for Christmas. Most everyone we give gifts to live out of state. So shipping is always a factor and it just gets more expensive each year, especially now that my niece and nephews are no longer babies, but toddlers and a soon to be teenager. (their toys seem to get heavier and bigger as they get older) We typically give one gift each to my husbands brothers (2) and their wives and 2 gifts to their kids (4 total, 3 are under 5yrs old and one will be 13 soon. Also 3 are boys and 1 is a beautiful little girl) This year I am thinking of getting a family gift, like a gift card for the family and then a small gift each for the kids. So maybe a $50 gift card + a small gift for each child, for the family of 5 and a $30 gift card + small gift for their son for the family of 3. What do you all think? Do you think it is okay to give a smaller amount to the smaller family? What kind of gift cards does your family like to receive? Last year we spent about $50- $60 shipping out two packages to his brothers (one each) and I would much rather spend that money on gifts, then shipping. Any ideas are appreciated. What are some gift ideas you have come up with for family and friends?
  5. This website has some cute ideas. LOVE the Bumble that is breaking out of the house and also the Artic animals cutouts. http://www.317studio.com/holidays/christmas.html
  6. You could do a holiday greeting "Happy Holidays!" "Let it Snow!" Snowmen are easier to cut out and easy to paint, you also wouldn't need as many colors. A lot of white, and some blue for shading and then a smaller amount of decorative colors for scarfs and hats.
  7. A friend of mine gets her kids the basic stuff at Target, just what they need right away, paper, pens, pencils and maybe a cute folder or notebook that her daughter "Has to HAVE" lol (her kids are in middle school and they don't get a list, sometimes teachers will tell them specifics the first day of school.) and then she picks up the rest when the supplies go on clearance a couple of weeks later. She also buys supplies on clearance so she has enough for the entire year. Keep an eye on Targets ads and I know Staples has in the past advertised some things for a few cents each. Also for fun school supplies check out Border's Book Store. They have a brand called Paperchase that makes some cute and funky binders, folders, pencil pouches, etc... and the store near me has a bunch on clearance now. Also for anyone with a child going in to Pre-Algebra or Algebra, Danica Mckeller has a new math book coming out in August, Hot X: Algebra Exposed. She has two other math books and they are great, she does a really good job of helping you understand the mathematical topics. http://www.amazon.com/Hot-Algebra-Exposed-Danica-McKellar/dp/1594630704/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1279509245&sr=8-3
  8. It looks like as long as you are a student when you sign up then there shouldn't be a problem even if you stop being a student during the year you have your Prime account.
  9. I also read on another site that if you do sign up with .edu and you are not a student and you use the Prime and then they find you aren't a student they will charge you for the services you used. I had thought about signing up, but I'm not currently enrolled and I don't want to take any chances and end up owing money to Amazon.
  10. I'm not a fan of Gamestop, but they have had them in the past. Yoshi!!!
  11. Target.com has a few styles and they sell fleece liners too. http://www.target.com/s/191-0121864-7731468?_encoding=UTF8&search-alias=tgt-index&keywords=rainboots&ref=sr_bx_1_1&searchNodeID=1038576|1287991011&searchPage=1
  12. Check out Marshals and/or TJ Maxx they had some cute ones too.
  13. I am so bummed I missed all these good deals! DH just told me yesterday that he needs to renew soon. Thanks everyone! I will check Amazon.
  14. It's almost time to renew DH's Xbox Live account. Has anyone seen any good deals? Thanks!
  15. Have you checked on Freecycle.org? They have groups in different areas and people will post items they are giving away and you can post if you are looking for anything. And it is free. You never know if anyone will have what you are looking for, but it's worth a try because they just might. http://www.freecycle.org/search
  16. DH loves all of the Halo, Halo2, Halo3 and ODST. And is impatiently looking forward to Halo Reach. He played this as a demo and liked it, but not enough to pay full price for it when it came out. ($59.99) He did say when it gets marked down more that he would like it to add to his Halo collection, so I just ordered it from Amazon and got free shipping with Prime. It'll be a fun out of the blue gift!
  17. Gourmet cooking basket, Microplane grater, aged balsamic vinegar, good olive oil, bamboo cutting board. Workout basket, hand weights, workout dvd, water bottle, yoga mat I find tons of stuff that would fit in these baskets at Marshals, TJ Maxx and Ross
  18. They have TONS of Ed Hardy at Marshals and TJ Maxx stores too. I'm not sure how the prices compare to the department stores, but they seemed like good prices if you like their stuff.
  19. I'll be right next to you jumping up and down! :) Not a fan of Dollar Tree, but I'll have to check it out for this.
