ShoppingChick13 replied to ShoppingChick13's topic in 2009
I haven't had Chittlens in years. We lived in Alabama, South Carolina and Virginia and my best friends Mom always made Chittlens for Thanksgiving. -

What is your favorite dish to eat on Thanksgiving?

Mmmmmmm everything sounds so yummy! DH wants me to make Kentucky Hot Browns with the leftover turkey. It is a opened face sandwich with Turkey, Bacon, Tomato and a homemade swiss cheese sauce, you put it all together and then finish it off in the oven until it is all golden brown and bubbly. -
Difference between Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST
ShoppingChick13 replied to jhaferm's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
My DH has all of the Halo games and said to tell you.... Halo 3 you play as a Spartan and get to finish the trilogy of Halo. Halo ODST is a side game with different Characters with different abilities. Plus you also get all of Halo 3's multi-player maps on an extra disk. With Halo ODST you can play a firefight mode which is fun with friends. And with Halo ODST your sons will be able to participate in the Halo Reach Beta in the spring. (DH is excited about this) DH recommends getting Halo ODST because there are more options for the boys to play. A few stores will have Halo ODST for $39.99 during black friday, including Target. Hope that helps! -
My favorite dish on Thanksgiving is my Dad's Mashed Potatoes. He uses Idaho Potatoes, a little bit of milk and a TON of butter (and salt and pepper to taste). One stick of butter when he's mashing the potatoes and then about half a stick of butter after he has mashed them, that he puts in the middle and covers with more mashed potatoes so when you take a scoop all of this melted butter comes pouring out! YUMMY!!!!! They are so simple and so good. Now when I make them I use a little half and half and Kerry Gold Irish Butter. My favorite day after meal is leftover Turkey cooked in a pan with leftover gravy and then poured over leftover Mashed Potatoes and Stuffing! My Mom's favorite is her stuffing. I do love it, but I gotta have Dad's Mashed Potatoes! What is your favorite dish?

So cute! and such a nice gift you give, your time and your food. I am sure it is a lot of work. Are you able to recruit any assistants if you decide to cook again next year? Each person could make a side dish or two and you can make your famous turkey.

I'm not sure about the camera on the DSi, because I still have my original DS and it works as well as it did when I first got it. I even lent it to my brother when he was in Afghanistan over 4 years ago and it still works great. And because of this I don't think it is worth the money to replace it. Now, I mostly play games on it, I don't think I would use the newer options at least not often enough to replace it.

Well said rogue! Even if you can only afford to donate one canned good, can you all imagine how many canned goods they would receive if we all donated one! Remember "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." Aesop

I am almost Done with DH's side of the family. I just need a pair of 2T jeans for our nephew and to replace the batteries in the watches for his Dad and his Dad's wife, they are vintage watches of their favorite sports team. I have only 2 gifts for DH, my Mom and DH and I are getting my Dad and Ipod Touch so he will be easy to shop for, I just have to pick up that and stocking stuffers for him. I am still working on my Mom and figuring out what to get my brother who just transferred to Germany. I have the gift for DH's boss and I am almost done shopping for my "Giving Tree" children. Wow, I guess I am doing better than I thought I was.

What do you all think of the Mega Bloks vehicles? Like the Mega Block's Litl Front Loader on Amazon. (I'm too new to post links) It is a dump truck with a dump truck driver and some of the building blocks. And even though they are a different brand, do the mix well with the Little People. Thanks!

I can't believe how some people have acted when you all were being courteous and kind. I always smile and say 'Thank you" and hold doors for people and I don't think I have ever had anyone make a rude comment or make a face at me. Most everyone has thanked me and smiled and many times we get in to a conversation about how nice a day is. There is a lady at a Starbucks inside a King Soopers grocery store at we go to sometimes and she is always in a crabby mood and never smiles. My husband mentioned it one day and I said "Just remember, we don"t know what is going on in her life, she may be having a tough time." he said "Yeah, you are right" On Halloween she was wearing these cute ghost earrings and I commented on how cute they were and she smiled and said thanks! :) I was so happy!
