  1. You may want check with your child's school to see if they have any limits on the $ dollar amount of gifts. My school district is $30
  2. My Mom and I have been trying to do this with our family. We are very fortunate and have everything we could need or want. So we have focused on a few larger gifts versus a ton of smaller gifts that end up costing the same when you add it all up. I've been trying to pick up bigger things for our stockings too. It has been a little difficult at times because I always see things I know they will enjoy, but I'm being good. For my Niece and Nephews I have been buying clothing and books, I purchased more items then I planned on for them, but because of my fabulous shopping skills;) I stayed within budget. They get TONS of toys from everyone else so I stick with super cool clothes that Mom and Dad may not normally spend money on. Our oldest Nephew is getting a game worn football jersey from his favorite college team and we wish we could be there to see him open it and put it on. Like most everyone else all of our gifts are paid for in cash, sometimes if DH orders something for me from a store that I will have an idea what the gift is when I see it on our bank statement (origins.com or uggaustralia.com for example) then he will put it on his card and then pay it off right away. We have always paid for gifts in full.

  11. I bought a few large boxes at a box store in my area. I needed boxes for my Angel tree gifts and I wanted them to be sturdy. I also haven't seen the larger boxes at the stores as much lately. The coat sounds cute!
  12. Starbucks has a set of a half pound of their Christmas Blend coffee and a Starbucks mug for $9.95 it is a nice set and their Christmas Blend is yummy!
  13. My Mom made all of our stockings, when I got engaged my Mom made new stockings similar to our original ones. She made a set for my now DH and I and we received them as a gift when we got married. My Mom also made a stocking for DH to keep at my parents home. My husband and I received them filled on Christmas morning. (My now DH spent the night at our home and he joined us for our traditional Christmas morning. He had so much fun! he had his own stocking and just as many presents as my brother and I. He was so excited! he hadn't had a stocking in years. My parents love and adore him and so do I!) :) My parents have all of our original stockings and hang them up every year and we have our stockings that Mom made for us. Since we are in different states and my brother is in Germany, my Mom doesn't fill our stockings at home, but does send stocking stuffers to us and we stuff our stockings with gifts for each other and from Mom and Dad. (we also send stocking stuffers to Mom and Dad and to my brother) Santa comes to all of us. On Christmas eve DH fills my stocking and I fill his and then we hide them until morning. Also on Christmas eve DH goes to bed and Santa (Me) places all of the gifts under the tree and we wake up Christmas morning and it is just like when we were kids. How about keeping the stockings and hanging them up and for the children that will be home, filling their stocking and then later when they have permanently moved out and/or gotten married you can give them their own stockings.
  14. I think the best way is to let them know a few days before. Talk about it with them and let them know that you talked to Santa and he know there won't be enough room in your car to bring them home from Grandma's and that he is going to deliver them to the house the morning after you get back home and you all will have two Christmases this year. This way they will know what is going on before hand and will not be disappointed on Christmas morning. (I am concerned that they have had nothing on Christmas morning before and had been promised presents in a few days and they never received them) After you talk to them about it the first time I would mention it again a few times in casual conversation so they don't forget. Have a safe trip and have fun!
  15. I have seen them at Tuesday Morning. It has been a few weeks, bu you should check there.

They can even help you find a outlet closer to you. I'm sure there are others, these are just at the specific outlet mall. Good Luck! 22. Check Marshals and TJ Maxx for Under Armour socks and shirts
  23. Hi jhaferm, I asked DH your question and he said Halo 1 and Halo 2 are good games and are good if they want to know more about the games story, but that they don't need them to play the game or to understand what is going on. And they can be purchased used for a good price. (Gamestop will have their used games Buy 2 Get 1 free Thanksgiving weekend.) He thinks Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST is a great way to go. Halo Wars is a different type of Halo game, it is Halo, but more of a Real time Strategy Game and not a First Person Shooter. DH played a demo of Halo Wars and likes the game, but not enough to buy it. You can get Halo Wars used or wait until after your boys play the other two and then consider buying it. You can also buy Halo3 and Halo Wars toys. They have Halo Wars Mega Bloks and they are kinda cool. Even my DH wants them! http://www.megabrands.com/en/kids/halowars/
  24. Will be getting a tree soon. We have a faux tree, but I want a real one this year! We only put up a couple of decorations outside. It gets too windy and I don't want to chase my decorations down the street!
