  1. 1. Best Buy 2. I'll go out Thursday night and again Friday morning for the stores still celebrating Black FRIDAY. 3. Thursday 6pm
  2. I was noticing this last night when I was looking, too. Now I see a few; maybe 1 out of every 5-10.
  3. Against it. The fun of black Friday used to be getting up at 2 am, going to stand in line for 4 am opening and shop until 8 or 9 am. Now you have to go out 12 hours earlier and still get done at the same time. More of my shopping has moved to online from my couch.
  4. So many retailers are now doing deals all through November. With it just being one or two day black Friday, that was manageable; how do you plan to keep track of everything through the whole month and who is having black Friday worthy deals on items you want?
  5. I know this already ended but I wanted to put in my $.02 now that I have a free minute. I used to check my daily emails for deals from best buy, sears, home depot, newegg, etc. And then found gottadeal.com. that posts these deals for me all in one location and searchable. When it cos to Black Friday, they are the hardest workers around. Even members volunteer their time to help out. This provides us the opening times, tips for shopping, reviewing the ads, and an item list along with all the scanned ads as soon as they become available. I can then map out my black Friday plan with the stores that are open and my shopping list directly from the site. Thank you to everyone at gottadeal.com.
  6. Yep, ours came the same way yesterday.
  7. It's always just myself. My wife has to work on Friday so I'm the only one that can go out while she's home with the sleeping kiddos. I usually go back out with them to petsmart and other low key stores. Many times a helping hand would have been nice but likely slow me down a bit too.
  8. If we're counting this as camping out, then I'm surely a camper.
  9. I would say the most important thing would boo to get organized before you go. Use the tools available to you on here and know what you're getting before standing in line. Be prepared to stand in some lines (to get in or check out) and if you really only need 1 or 2 items, grab those and get to the checkout before those lines get long. And then lastly, have a backup plan if something doesn't quite go according to your original plan.
  10. I would camp out if I had a group to camp out with, it didn't interfere with family time on thanksgiving day, AND I wasn't in Wisconsin where the average overnight temperature during BF is usually around 0 degrees...
  11. Yep. I read that one immediately after my response... I'm not sure what to do there. Certainly, the appliances and non-color or size specific items could be solved. After that, it does get difficult.
  12. I've never experienced the "open pallets" before the time, but I think that would be just as much chaos.....just earlier. If the sale starts at 8pm, people would get there at 5 pm and just wander around until the items are put out. And the chaos occurs from 5-6, instead of 8-8:10. I really think one line with handing out tickets should always be the best. If you were at the store first, you should get first pick. However I think you're going to run into "hmmmm. I might want this, I'll take a ticket for that" and then never buy it and the ticket count won't coincide with the stock.
  13. I still use a folder when I go out, usually with a printed list I typed up (since I can't read my own handwriting) and the ads with specific items circled. More and more has moved to online shopping so the folder is smaller and smaller every year.
  14. It's only been 9 years for me but I go every year and enjoy as much as I can with the ridiculous opening times. I hope there's still something to go for in a few years when my kids are actually old enough to go with me.
  15. I've been so busy this year that the waiting hasn't hit me at all because I've barely even been able to come on here and catch up in the discussions.
  16. 7 or 8 years ago, 46" Sharp 1080p TV from circuit city (yes, remember that store?) For 1199; retailed for something like 2500.
  17. 1 - I got to target on Tuesday and still had this line. I guess this year I'll go after trick or treating. 2 - Cmon down. You're the next shopper in the best buy black Friday madness. 3 - Just need a short snooze between the 6 PM sales and the 9 PM sales...
  18. I got the tires from Sears last year and the process was decent. One of the Sears in my area had the tire center open all night; the employees were not thrilled. I've also heard that at some if you pay and come back any time on Friday that they will honor it.
  19. I usually buy for us; the big thing we need for the year. I can't justify putting things on my xmas list for family to buy for me when I know I can get it myself for 50% of the cost by going on BF. And my family isn't as into it as I am.
  20. I've always been a android guy and have never ventured into the apple world but winning a free one might open that up
  21. All sale prices I was looking at were live!
  22. Some of the items I've seen say "Sold in store only" so I'm hoping that if you can find it on the site now, it'll be available for BF pricing online when the sale goes live.
  23. Some KMart items are live (I went through Sears, which find KMart items when searching); e.g. TMNT action figures 20% off https://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_004W005160908001P https://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_004W005160908003P https://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_004W005200115005P
  24. Doubtful. If that were the case, Kmart would be starting their online sale at the same time.
  25. Probably well gone by now. Likely would only last 30 minutes or so.
