I grew up with real tress, even cutting our own at times. As an adult I did that a few times until one tree came home with a bunch of spiders. It's been a pre-lit artificial for about 10 years now. We are on our 3rd artificial, the first one the lights died after about 4 years, and the 2nd I gave away because I was moving into a smaller place. My current tree I bought at Walmart last year, a pre-lit 6.5 ft for $35. I love it, no watering, no needles to vacuum up, and as others have said, you can always use a candle or pine scented air freshener. I usually have cinnamon pine cones in my apt so I don't bother with other scents. For me, packing up and storing a artificial tree is a lot easier than taking down a real tree, disposing of it, and then vacuuming and vacuuming the trail of needles.

This is me exactly. Then BF shopping is all fun and games! Sometimes I end up returning and rebuying if I find a better deal between BF and Christmas, but not a whole lot.

What items are you hoping for the best deal on for Black Friday?

What I have done in years past is buy the item on sale and hang on to the receipt. Sometimes a better deals comes up and it's worth a return and repurchase, but other times the deal is so close it's not worth the trouble, especially if it's a BF deal and you have to fight crowds. Also, at Target if you use your Red Card you get an additional 5% off your purchase. -
This is all I could find:

I haven't seen Holt or Gil in stores for 6 months or more, at this point it will be 3rd party sellers selling them at a significant markup. It's disappointing that Mattel is not continually releasing more of the male dolls. My daughter only has about 4 males and she is often complaining she doesn't have enough boyfriends for all the girls.

I'm looking for another iPod Touch this year, but last year a GD member posted a great deal on the iPod Touch at Target and I believe it was before BF. I never saw a better deal after that. I'm really hoping to get another deal like that again this year. -
I'm not doing the 4 gift holiday, more like a 2 gift holiday. I'm a full time nursing student and a single mom with 4 kids, my budget is $200 per kid. I received an unexpected refund from Toyota for some repairs I had done last year that they have now decided to extend the warranty to cover. Lucky for me, that's what is paying for Christmas. One kid is asking for a Kindle Fire, one is asking for an iPod Touch, another wants some of the more expensive video games, and the last is still undecided. For my girls that are asking for the Kindle and iPod, along with some Amazon and iTunes gift cards, that is all they will be getting. My youngest who is 6 years old is the one asking for the iPod and she is aware that if Santa leaves it for her that is about it, there won't be much else, no toys. It's what happened with her older sister last year when she got an iPod Touch for Christmas, and my little one says she is fine with it. Makes it pretty easy for me really, shopping with take very little time.

This is just not fair

I complained on their FB page during my checkout frustration and they later deleted it. Nice. Anyone else keep getting their shipping methods switched around? One time it would say all my items were eligible for site-to-store, then I would get kicked out of checkout and have to start over, and then some of the items could only be shipped to home. Then it would switch again the next time I was kicked out and started over.

Official Black Friday Line Reports - Post Your Reports!

Probably both. I think the earlier times brought out a lot more people needing goods deals. Some people no matter the deal just can't/won't get up at 4 am to hit the stores. -

Wow! I'm hearing those kind of stories from other people too. The crowds are totally insane with the earlier openings and it's total chaos. Maybe the retailers will rethink it all next year. -
LOL I'm trying my darndest to find something to wait up for, but nothing is popping out "F5 for me"
-
I saw that, and I'm debating. I would rather get it from Walmart in case i need to return it, and I am one of the unfortunate that have to pay tax at Amazon since they are headquartered in my state. But I may just bite the bullet and get it from Amazon anyway. At least with my Prime I'll get it in 2 days lol.

Any have an opinion if the Razor PowerWing Scooter might be available for the sale price online? It's available online now just not at the sale price.

GameStop and Newegg got my money this morning. Newegg turned out to be a way better deal anyway.

Anybody else just get the Best Buy email saying shop now for their sale with links and everything is sill greyed out and not able to be put in the cart?

I did not know about this! Pizza on Friday it is! Thx :)

I picked up Marley and Me too :) -
I'm impressed that you're still going to go by yourself, and a little envious! :) I use to go by myself before I had kids. This year my family is out of town, my husband is now an ex-husband, and my only friend that likes to Black Friday shop always has her own plan. My kids are between 5-10 years old so I can't leave them alone and I would be miserable if I took them with me, they'd probably be miserable too. So this is the first year I will try and see what I can get online, luckily I don't seem to need as much this time.
