rjncmj replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2010
I came in on the tail end of the last one. PLUS the extended 3-4 hours, lol! It was fun :) -
People in my town started arriving at 9pm for the laptop last year. All tickets were gone by midnight.

Special Webcast TONIGHT - 8:30pm ET - Walmart BF Ad & Your Questions!

How long do you think you will run it? Maybe I can get in on it at the tail end. I don't get home from class until 7:30 pst -
I bought a bike at WM a couple years ago on BF. It was not a fly off the shelf/pallet "hot" item. They had a lot of them, we grabbed one right away but within the first couple hours they were all gone. They come in a box but we took the box back in to customer service on Saturday. They called one of the bike guys up to take it to the back and put it together. We came back after about an hour and it was all ready. They do not charge for assembly!

So what is the best time to get there for the midnight stuff? And then where are they going to put us all while we wait for the clock to strike 12:01? The store is gonna be packed!

Last year most people believed the sale started at 5am, so when WM released the merch on the floor at 12:01am there was no competition to get it. Now with the sales being advertised at 12:01, tons of people will be there. What are they going to do when people are coming in at 9 and 10 pm for the games, dvd's and clothes? Make them line up next to a pallet? So I might have to plant my mom at the bikes, my husband at the video games, and I will have to stake claim at girls jeans? I think I like the doors opening at 5am better, and then everyone dashing from deal to deal at the same time. With a crowd gathering at each sale I don't see much success getting around to very many of them in time. Plus, I think a lot of people will find it easier to stay up till midnight-1-ish, then getting up at 4am. It's going to be crazy.

So the Santa Sing A Ma Jig is going to be at TRU on BF. That one sings "We Wish You A Merry X-Mas." There is still another Santa Sing A Ma Jig out there that sing "Jingle Bells." If anyone spots the Jingle Bells Santa anywhere other than Amazon or ebay (inflated prices), could you please let me know which store you saw it at? Please and Thank You :)

UGH I'm so torn... should I get 1 expensive gift or many smaller gifts
rjncmj replied to Angelseyes28's topic in 2010
I agree with fluffkin. Since your daughter is already saving for it and you know she will get the money by x-mas, I'd let her earn the valuable lesson of saving up for something wanted so badly. The satisfaction, pride, confidence, and maturity she can gain from this is invaluable. Plus if you come through for her this year, there often is that expectation in years to follow. And the gifts will just get more and more expensive. -
zooLert is a must this time of year! :) Plus the guys there are really nice and if you want to them to start trackers on something, you just need to ask. They are really great about implementing requests.

This is great! Sales at Midnight. WM new plan last year threw so many people off, I watched a ton of people coming through at 4-5am trying to scramble to get what was leftover from all of us that started loading our carts at midnight and then just sat around for 5 hours. By changing up the times they'll cause confusion and throw people off again. I stay in the loop and I am golden. I hope next year they have a 10pm and 2am sale! Keep changing it up WM!

I was at TRU yesterday and they got in about 6 of them. I noticed the price increase too. I only shop there when I absolutely have to, otherwise I window shop there and find it for a better price somewhere else.

I got in line around 9pm last year and was 5th in line. Out of the first 10 people in line, I was the only one wanting a Zhu Zhu. Well originally anyway, by the end of our 3 hour wait some others picked one up also. This year I will head there about 6-ish. I will take my ads and look through them while sitting in line and in the cold....instead of in my warm cozy home. Blasted TRU

Yeah print out that email....and maybe forward it to a few of us :)
-
Same here. I got in line about 45 mins before opening last year and I was within the first 15 getting in the door. Total by opening was 60-70ish people in line.

I'm with tinkrbel on this one, you should find out if they will let you return and re-buy later in the morning. Otherwise swing by when your done with your shopping and see if they still have it. Personally if I can't be one of the first in line to get in the store, I won't bother going at all on BF. The checkout line wrapped the store is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Last year I was 5th to get in the store and 3rd to check out. It still took close to 15 mins to checkout. It's so f'ing stupid I just get pissed talking about it...

LOL, you tried to get hubby to go and peek instead of you doing it. That so sounds like me!! I'm such a chicken, but have no problem volunteering others to do the dirty work
-
That's because TRU opened at Midnight last year. I got to TRU about 9pm and was about 5th in line. By Midnight I couldn't see the end of the line. It started at one end of the shopping center, went all the way to the other end and around the corner.

I wanted to stay home!! I was really hoping nothing would be there to draw me out, funds are low and BF can get out of hand. But since the TRU ad came out I now have to go wait in a line. Must have the Santa Sing-a-ma-jig! Target looks pretty good with the kids pj's and jeans and my mom is thinking of getting the kids the dual dvd player for our car. My mom told me about the world wide cotton shortage and prices going up next year, so those jeans and other clothes on BF are looking better and better.

Santa Sing A Ma Jig.....nuff said, I'll be there:holiday16

Yeah. No to what?

Again, I totally agree with you! People were saying the same thing last year about TRU, that none of the new toys were on sale. And TRU had 2 Doorbusters last year, 12am and 1pm. I'm no expert but I have never noticed a lot of the NEW toys on BF specials. It also seems to me a lot of the bonus deals on the new toys hit the shelves for the season, not for a BF draw. I think if people were waiting for BF to buy new popular toys, they had to know they were taking a risk.

ltd commodities christmas catalog is out
rjncmj replied to bulldoglover78's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I have found some really great stuff though the online deals. I tend to order through The Lakeside Collection more, it seemed to me that site was the first to implement the standard shipping rates along with paying upfront. So it's become habit for me to go there first.
