  1. Definately Michaels & JoAnn's. The Michaels one is usually 3 different coupons.......the earlier you go, the better discount you get. I think the first one starts at 6am. But most Michaels will actually validate your early coupon and then you can come back later and use it. DD and I did that a couple of times.....went to Michaels & got it validated and then went out to BB or CC and went back to M's later. The JoAnn's ones usually last longer......up to noon. So you don't have to be in too much of a hurry to get there. The closest HL is about 1.5 hours away and I have never been there, but I can't imagine that they wouldn't have one when M's & J's both do.
  2. You might want to consider the original DS as people are thinking they might go on sale. I have the original (I'm 54 and DH/DD got it for me for my birthday about 1.5 years ago) and I have no problem with it at all as far as screen brightness, etc., but I do like the bigger stylus on the Lite because of some arthritis in my hands. So I just bought some spare ones and use them with my DS. Since she is only 8, she wouldn't have that problem. Not the latest version, of course, but it might be something that won't break the bank for you. BTW.......I just bought Magnetica and love it!! Of course, I love Zuma on PopCap, so this is just a fancier (and much harder) version.
  3. Lalah.......Check your private messages!!
  4. Thanks! This really helped last year because living out in the boonies we don't get all the ads from the stores where we go!
  5. I totally agree!!! I've gone in there with a coupon and more often than not, they won't take it on what I'm buying!! Then there are those "minimum of 10% off your sale" ones! What they don't tell you, or at least it is too small for old eyes to see is that to get the 10%, you have to use THEIR charge card! You only get 5% if you don't.......not worth the hassle for that!
  6. Hmmm.........Never have gone to Grove City on BF. But then again because it is all outside, we would have frozen our "you know whats" off last year! Winter in PA is NOT a shoppers paradise!!
  7. We do get for my BIL, but only because he wants the same thing thing that we are getting at Staples....... Norton FAR. But I would definately not get someone's entire wish list, especially if it meant that I would miss some of mine. Of course we don't buy for very many people anymore, no little kids to buy for. Don't have very many family members left around here.
  8. I used to shop at Boscov's when I worked for DuPont and had to go to the home office in Wilmington, DE. I really liked the store then. You could find a lot of nice stuff at good prices. That was over 10 years ago. Now, all I find is junk! And anything that's decent is overpriced. The quality of clothes has gone downhill, the electronics are junk, and I had a major problem with a CompactFlash card I bought there once and got no satisfaction at all. They have these great sales on mattresses and then say that they have to be delivered and charge you an arm and a leg to deliver them, when I have a pickup truck parked outside!! The advertise nice stuff on sale, but when you get there, they never have the stuff. Just some junk. Don't waste your time on BF there, so someplace you know will have what you want at good prices.
  9. J's, M's and ACM's coupons all say you can't use it on the Cricut. And at least ACM's say you can't use it on cartridges either. Provo Craft is really coming down on the use of coupons for it. And there will a MAJOR yelling if Robert's sells it for that, especially after Provo Craft layed the law down to the other chains. They are allowed to have it on a sale, but there is a bottom line below which they aren't allowed to sell it. IMHO........Buy her a Wishblade! Yes, it's more money up front, but considering that you NEVER have to purchase another piece of software for it, it's the better deal all around. It cuts any .ttf font and we know there are thousands and thousands of those out there for free. Plus there are tons of free shape files available on the Wishblade Yahoo groups.
  10. Our Staples did something like this last year. They had pieces of paper printed out with the name of the item on them (not fancy tickets) and then came through the line handing them out. Unfortunately, it came time to open the store and they hadn't finished handing out the tickets, so everyone just shoved in. Then it was so confusing that you had to be careful as the employees were handing out the wrong tickets. I had to go back twice to get the right one. But at least it allowed you to do other things in the store and be assured that you got your item. The year before, though, was better. They had everything on tables and people just filed past the tables in a single line and you picked up what you wanted. When the tables were empty, they were gone.
  11. Good luck if you get one! We bought DD the flat panel they had on sale last BF and when we got it home it had dead pixels. By the time we returned it there wasn't any more. Ended up she found one at Sam's Club and we just gave her the equivalent money towards that one.
  12. Oooo.......that would be great. I have a list of about 6 seasons of stuff that I want. Maybe I should wait. Oh wait, DH and DD said they absolutely refuse to stand in line at a BB or CC on BF. Oh well........
  13. ACK!!! Why is it that the people who don't have to deal with snow and cold love and miss it!?!?!?! You are all nuts!!! I would give anything to never see another snowflake in my entire life!
  14. Don't eat or drink anything. That way I don't have to stop and go potty! Seriously, probably grab some granola bars on our way out the door. Maybe some hot chocolate if it's as cold as it was last year!!
  15. Staples definately! Have been there the last 2 years.......great buys on electronics stuff, some great small items free after rebate (including Norton) and so far we have gotten what we wanted. Daughter is now out of college and on her own and she just recently told me that she was excited to be coming home for Thanksgiving so that she could go out to Staples with us!! Nice to know we are so loved!
  16. We got NINE Staples ones in the mail on Monday! Still waiting on the Playo DVD-R one that had to be mailed away, but the rest are all back. Still have two others out that I sent in later.....one from Circuit City and one from Best Buy.
  17. Ooo..........that's what I have! TSO "Carol of the Bells" for Christmas. The only other downloaded on that I have is Phantom of the Opera that I want to use for Halloween. My phone came with a bunch of great ringers on it and at the time Sprint had such crappy ringers to download, I only got those two. I tried to download from a third party site, but had so many problems that I didn't bother. I had great ones on my old phone, but Sprint couldn't move them to my new phone, so I lost all of them. Might have to look into the cable thing though! I have absolutely no use for the Vision package, actually just too cheap, so I only used it for the one free month and then cancelled it. Don't have a camera phone as we were staying with Sprint and they wouldn't give me any deal on one, so I just have a nice LG phone. BTW........for those of you "youn'uns" dissing us ancient oldies, I'm 53 and love to play with the fun things on my phone that are already there. Unfortunately, DH IS an old fogey and only wanted a basic ring on his company phone that was loud enough that he could hear it.
  18. Wouldn't take it here either. I'll probably try something online except that I already got BOGO at the store and not sure I have room for any more.
  19. If you are trying to print out the rebate form, BE SURE to put in the birthday correctly!! I forgot to change it and now I am totally locked out of getting it because they have done something to the ISP address so that it keeps saying I am too young! I tried deleting all the internet files, cookies and history and it still doesn't work. Guess I'll try rebooting and see if the ISP number changes (I'm on cable). OK.........that worked.
  20. krissy..........I can't get it to come up either. Even when I click on all these links, all I get coming up is a redirection to the home page. I even tried typing in www.walmart.com/ecircular and I get a page telling me that it is not available, but absolutely nothing that looks like the screenshot shown here. Do we have to be logged in or something?

    Gamecube

I have a 22YO daughter who is finishing up her software engineering degree at RIT, so is very computer minded. She had access to playing every game system out there between all of her friends and decided on the Gamecube. She's not much into the more violent games, but loves the Zelda and Mario games. It's nice in that the games available seem to cover many different interests. So it's really not only for the kiddies! Sounds like the WM deal is really good. Her favorites are any of the Zelda or Mario games, Monkey Ball. She also kind of likes some of the games for the younger ones because she said it is more restful for her sometimes to just play something a little easier. She always laughs when she sees all these people fighting and snatching up the new Xbox. The opinions of all her friends are.........you NEVER buy something Microsoft right away because there is always too many bugs in it!! She isn't suprised at all about people returning the 360s already because of all the bugs.
  22. According to postal regulations, mail carriers are not allowed to accept money at all, but can accept other types of gifts up to a $20 value. Gift cards were the same as money, but they suggested things like small personal gifts or cookies, etc. Although I would hate to give someone cookies when I don't know if they are on a diet or diabetic or something. I gave the UPS guy a restaurant gift card last year and will do the same this year. He goes way out of his way to make sure our packages are safe from the weather. He actually comes around the back of the house and puts them by the back door on our screened in back porch.

    Winkflash?

Hopefully they have improved in the past year. About a year ago I did a cross study with 6 different online photo developers: Snapfish, Shutterfly, Clark, York, Ofoto and Winkflash. I send each of them the exact same 10 photo files. Ofoto -- Best quality, but also the most expensive Snapfish -- Almost as good, best price for quality (I use them exclusively now) Shutterfly -- Quality same as Snapfish, higher price Clark -- OK quality York -- OK quality (I swear they and Clark are the same company!!) Winkflash -- Horrible quality! I had a picture of a cake with white icing and it came back as green! In fact, every picture had a green cast to it, including people's faces. I contacted their customer service to get reprinting done (or to refund my money) and never got so much as one word back from them. Like I said, maybe they have improved over the past year, but not only did I find unacceptable quality, but totally unacceptable customer service from them as well.
