  1. Hmm that's a good point. Maybe 6 feet just sounds big... I'm going to check around tomorrow and see if I can find anything.
  2. Do you guys think we'll see the new Skylanders game go down to $38 for BF this year?
  3. That happened last year with those action figures from the Toy Story That Time Forgot TV special. My little guy wanted Reptillus Maximus and it was a Walmart exclusive. I waited and waited, stalking 3 local stores and the website, and finally had to just give up and get it on Amazon, where I paid double what the store price actually was because I knew at that point I had exhausted all my options and my kid really wanted it. But people were selling some of the figures and sets for triple the price and more! It was insane! I saw one of the $10 figures going for $60!! That's not right.
  4. Well, I was up at my local WM this morning because I had placed a video game order for Site to Store and never got a "come and get it" text or email, so I figured I would stop in to see what was up. Turns out my order was stuck in processing and no one could do anything with it! Well luckily all my games were in stock, so we cancelled the online order and they price matched all of them to Walmart.com's prices, which I would have just gone and done in the first place had I realized they did that now! I remember it used to be a rule that you couldn't do that, and I hadn't realized it changed. I'll just stick to that from now on instead of the site to store fiasco. Now I have to wait for the charges to drop off from the online order, so as of right now I've technically paid for those games twice. Tis the season! Lol
  5. I'm thinking about adding a turkey inflatable to our yard! Where did you get yours? The only one I've seen so far is 6-feet and I'm not certain I want the turkey to be that large. We took down all the Halloween stuff on Sunday and put all the turkeys and pilgrims out! The house is all ready for Thanksgiving. My husband will do the outdoor xmas lights over the next couple weekends, but we don't light up until Thanksgiving night. And then the Saturday after Thanksgiving we'll do the trees and indoor stuff. I'm looking for some new outdoor yard guys this year, our lighted reindeer finally crapped out for good, so I'm thinking of replacing them with something weird like a dinosaur in a Santa hat or something like that. We need some new stuff here.
  6. Our menu is the same every year, so that's the easy part! And everyone has a job and makes the same thing. We eat at my house and there are 9 of us. Me, husband, 2 kids, mom, dad, 2 brothers, and a mooching dog. Turkey (husband) Stuffing (husband) Other stuffing (dad) Gravy (husband) Other gravy (dad) Mashed potatoes (me) Cheesy corn bake (me) Green bean casserole (mom) Squash casserole (me) Sweet potatoes on pineapple rings (me) Broccoli cheese bake (mom) Cranberry sauce (the can-shaped kind) Rolls (Sams Club) Pumpkin pie (me) Custard pie (me) Boston Cream Pie (mom) Mini cheesecake squares (Sams Club) My mom found a turkey-shaped butter at Walmart and dropped that off the other day, so even our butter will be festive this year.
  7. This was a few years ago when Walmart started their sale at 9 or 10 on Thanksgiving night. My mom had decided that BF was no longer her thing because she gets too flustered, so one of my brothers signed on to be my partner that year. After we all ate, our other younger brother decided he wanted to check out WM, and mom said she could handle an hour of WM with him, so they teamed up. My brother and I were waiting by a pallet of something, I don't remember, and we knew that mom and our other brother were somewhere in the store. After the sale started and the pallets were ripped open, we loaded up on what we wanted and then decided to head back towards electronics. We round a corner and run into my poor mother, wild-eyed, slightly sweaty, with a cart full of those long footstool chests! She yells "OH MY GOD YOU GUYS!!" We asked her why she had a cart full of furniture and she explained that when it started, that's the pallet she happened to be standing by, and everyone went crazy and she panicked and just loaded her cart up with whatever was near, thinking she would sort it out later. 3 footstools later, she had a full cart, no plan, and had lost our brother in the maylay. (He showed up a minute later with a video game.) We helped mom take all the furniture back to its pallet and sent her home. And that was mom's final Black Friday. Haha. Now she just texts us the whole time from the comfort of her home.
  8. That Matchbox Treasure Truck with the metal detector on the front is big with my little kindergartner and his friends. My mom claimed it as her present to him and had a heck of a time finding one yesterday! She ended up getting it at TRU. Not sure if it's a Hot Toy or just hot around here but it's really cool! He can look for coins and keys in the sand, on the carpet, in the yard....really cool.
  9. Well, it's been my experience that the Nintendo titles don't really drop in price until they've been out for a while. So I'll be purchasing games like Yoshi's Wooly World and others like that, and instead of paying $180 for 3 games I'll pay $120 and then also get my 5% red card discount. I'll wait on the PS4 titles my other son wants though, because those typically do go lower for BF.
  10. I found it! The annual Target B2G1 video game sale starts 11/8 and runs all that week. Yay! That sale really helps with the newer titles that don't go on sale.
  11. That's what I'm trying to remember...when was it? Will they have that sale again? Thanks for the help!
  12. Hey, remember the last couple years when Target did the Buy 2 Get 1 video game sale? When was that? Any idea if they're doing that again this year? I feel like it was around this time, but maybe I'm mistaken.
  13. I actually just started today! I picked up Destiny for PS4 ($15) and Kirby and the Rainbow Curse for Wii U ($33) at Walmart, thought they were decent prices on two of the must-have games on my kids' lists. I'm planning on hitting the Sams Club sale next Saturday for the PS4 and iTunes cards, and then I'll wait for BF for the rest.
  14. Did you guys see the Sams Club sale on November 14th? They'll have a PS4 with a bonus game for $300. Doesn't say what the game is, but a pretty good deal nonetheless. They open at 7 that day.
  15. Thank you so much, I hadn't even thought about the game taking up space like that! Maybe I should just go with a standard Wii u and buy the actual game for it.
  16. I was just looking at the Wii U Mario Maker bundle at Walmart for $296. The game is just a download, not a physical copy. And it comes with the oldschool Mario amiibo. Am I a fuddy duddy for wanting a physical copy of the game? Is the download just as good, won't glitch, will really be there when he turns on the Wii U? Or should I get a different bundle and just buy the game? Do all bundles come with just game downloads and not actual discs? And what do we think about the price? Worth it to wait a little longer, or just buy it now? Thanks!
  17. I got a bunch of the Skylanders figures B1G1 40%, and saw some 50% Lego sets (galaxy something). There were a lot of deals all over the store, but I was only there for certain things so I didn't look around. Signs everywhere though. And it was for Rewards members, not just credit card holders, I don't have a card. And you could sign up for the free rewards in store today and then get the deals.
  18. I thought the same thing! I don't know if it's like this everywhere, but our local Big Lots is dirty and always empty, no one shops there on a regular day. I don't think it's right that they're going to make their employees hang out in that empty store all day.
  19. No, you're not crazy! That's a really sweet deal. If I wasn't already drowning in Legos in my house, I would grab that for sure.
  20. I'm working 10pm-4am Thanksgiving night this year (I work at Children's Place outlet), so I'm planning on stopping by WM on my way home to see what's laying around. Last year they had tons of leftovers now that a lot of people shop online, so I'm hoping to grab some blurays and that Hot Wheels set. I think since I'll be there long after the sales start and before the 6am sale, I'll be able to get in and out. I was planning on the Skylanders but we decided to go with the Dark Edition for DS10, so I don't need that anymore. Was hoping to see that 2DS for $79 like they had a couple weeks ago (I missed out on that deal) but no such luck, so I'll just buy it now for $111 on Amazon and be done with it.
  21. I start shopping around Halloween and like to finish up by Dec. 15th at the latest. Last year I broke that rule and started shopping in July, but then I forgot just how much stuff I had bought and when I started pulling presents out of hiding I was shocked at the huge pile of stuff I had! So I learned my lesson (that I have no self control) and have now gone back to my Halloween shopping start. As far as Black Friday, that's when I get the majority of the movies my kids have asked for, and usually some video games. And I usually jump on the cheap Hot Wheels sets. Last year I bought a ton of stuff during BF week on Amazon, but this year I'm already 75% done with my shopping, so it won't be like that again.
  22. I took advantage of the Target video game sale and got 3 new titles from my DS10's list for $80 total, which breaks down to a little over $26 each. Very happy with that. Also got 3 of the Trap Masters for the new Skylanders for $30 total at the same sale. And I got the 3 board games on their lists at Target B2G1 sale. TRU had the $60 microscope my DS10 asked for on sale yesterday for $40, so I grabbed that. I also got some DS games at TRU for $15 each for DS5. Last week I used my 25% off Target toy coupon and got a Minecraft torch for $12. Those are my good deals so far. My mom and I were shopping yesterday and she got that Minecraft Creeper Anatomy toy for $24.99 at TRU. They also had the Easy Bake Ultimate Oven for $38.99 and the refill packs 2 for $10.
  23. I was able to get the Skylanders figures as part of the sale, but the traps were not included at my store. Still, a great deal on the figures!
  24. I thought this sale was just for video games, so is it also for accessories? Can I get the Skylanders figures B2G1?
