  1. Spritz Cookies - to be used in a cookie press (or what we call the cookie gun) 3 sticks of butter, softened 1 egg 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 3 1/2 cups flour coloring and sprinkles, if desired Preheat oven to 375. In a mixing bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Add the sugar, egg, and vanilla; mix well. (If coloring the dough, add it with the liquids). Add the flour one cup at a time until soft dough forms. Put dough into cookie press, press cookies onto cool cookie sheets, bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden on the bottom. Let cool 2 minutes on sheets, then transfer to cookie racks. If using cocoa powder for chcolate cookies, substitute 1/2 c cocoa for flour. If using sprinkles, add to cookies before baking. Just made this two days ago with the Pumpkin press and orange coloring for pumpkin cookies! The trickiest part is the butter - too cold and it won't come out, too soft and they'll lose their form...
  2. Excel spreadsheets, which I can then upload to my phone...

  5. Compared to many of you, I'm just a newbie at this - been doing it probably since 2005, give or take a year depending on where I'm spending the Thanksgiving holiday. I used to think my brothers were crazy for camping out in front of Best Buy... Now I put them to shame!
  6. So much of shopping for me is the physical aspect... feeling the items, knowing they are securely under thumb, examining and evaluating the quality of the product... that unless it's an electronic or something I have already seen in person, I don't really like shopping online. I wish I could combine the best of both worlds and price comparison shop while in the store with a droid or iphone!
  7. Wow, stationchief - I've honestly never noticed the comparison charts before and I have to give you a lot of credit - it's a comparison shopper's dream! If it wouldn't be too much to ask if you could add a feature to the BluRay/DVD players - internet connectivity. I am kind of assuming that nearly all the models will have that capability but would not want to make a purchase and then find out too late it isn't there... Thank you so much for all your hard work!
  8. Worst experience was definitely Kohl's, last year... They had the best deals and were open early (I think 3 or 4 am they opened?) so we hit them first... I dropped my DH in line (which was halfway around the store, for both register banks) while I ran around the store for everything we needed. Over an hour later we were finally rung up, and I realized that everything we purchased we could have gotten online through Kohls.com, with an additional 10 or 15% off AND free shipping... SO THAT'S what we'll be doing this year for anything we need at Kohl's!
  9. Anybody else get into the Febrese Set & Refresh party? What a huge box of goodies! 16 different Set & Refresh packages, plus 2 home sprays, a bunch of the flameless luminaries, reed diffusers, spill-proof diffusers, and 180 coupons! This will be my second House Party - I've had only red dots since February - and I'm soooo excited! I'm having my party in july because I don't have time to do it now. I always wanted to try the flameless luminaries!
  10. I completely forgot what comes in the Boca package. Do you happen to know? I can't seem to find it anywhere on the party page!
  11. woohoo! I think I got into the Boca party. This would be my first party. The email said that I will be in if I am one of the first 1010 people to sign in, set up a site, and e-mail people... is that true, or am I definitely in anyway? ty!

  19. For a long time I've been wondering with this "house party" thing was about... until I received an invitation in my email to apply. :) Sadly I did not get in to the fit n fun wii party - probably because I don't have a wii but all of my friends do. Still an "active applicant" for DiGiorno's game day party! Now that I've sent in applications will I continue to receive invitations or no? ty!
  20. I'm from a blended family, and I've "recently" moved out on my own (okay, so it was 6 years ago, but it doesn't feel that way), and it's always nice to see my stocking at my mom's place (if I do make it there for xmas) - it satisfied a need to know that there's always a place for you at home. (She hasn't stuffed stockings for years, so there's nothing in it, but seeing it is nice). Ask them if they want to hold on to their stocking; if not, keep it up until they're married with children. :)
  21. My DH is a teacher and loves getting Dunkin Donuts g/c's
  22. Russet potatoes are a must for fluffy potatoes... I peel them and immediately chop into uniform 2 inch pieces and toss into boiling salted water (just a dash - like you would for boiling pasta). Boil until you can poke them easily with a fork but they still hold their shape. Drain. Put back in pot but turn off the heat; the residual heat from the stove will be good to help evaporate some of the water left on the potatoes - but don't burn, as others have warned here. Then I just use some milk (I heat up a mug-full of milk in the microwave; I even use fat-free), add it in slowly as you mash a little at a time. Then add whatever else you'd like - butter, cheese, salt, pepper, etc. Taste it as you go along! :) I mash by hand and leave some chunks for extra texture.
