Weird happenings . . .went to Target and scanned the yellow dollar spot. Came up $0.00, so asked an associate. She had a manager come over and he scanned them, said "They've gone salvage." Signs still said 50% off and they were ringing 50% off yesterday, so I asked him if they just skipped 75%. He said they've done that in the past if they don't sell enough quantity at 50%, then everything goes straight to salvage. Anyway, since half the dollar spot was still filled with yellow dot items, he said anything I wanted, I could get at .25, but they would have to manually key every item in. This didn't deter me, so I scored some great stuff. Walked out with a cart full of stuff (large gift bags, gel pens, batman crayons, batman stickers, water guns, bouncy balls, bags of army men, bags of fire fighters, notepads, sticky pads, blankets) for under $40. Covered for birthday goodie bags, teacher gifts, etc.

I haven't stepped foot inside my CVS for quite some time, so it may be time for a trip. Of course, if I had a little "eye candy" that would certainly expedite things!!

I'm not a usual Walgreens shopper, so I've got a question for the veterans. Stopped by my local Walgreens to try and pick up some of the 30 count papermate mechanical pencils that were on sale last week(?) for .99 and they were out. The manager gave me a raincheck and asked how many I needed. At the time of the sale, there was not a limit, but I just threw out the number 4. He gave me the raincheck and today when I stopped in, they had the packages back in stock. I went to the front with my 4 packs and asked the clerk if I could get 2 more packs (there were about 8 remaining on the display) and he said "no" that I could only get what was on the raincheck, even though the original sale didn't have a limit. Is that standard procedure? Just curious, since I'm usually a CVS'r and they never give me a hassle about rainchecks if the original add didn't have limits (they do usually note that on the raincheck too, so maybe that's what I should have said). Thanks for any insight. Wasn't sure if I should be bent or not. Since I'm well known at my CVS, they wouldn't have blinked, but didn't know if Walgreens is super strict about their policies.

Toys down to one side of an isle with 50% off signs up. Most toys were 50% but found the Transformers Decepticon marked only 30% but rang up 75%. The 190 Kohls (across from Firewheel Dillards) has been around for 10+ years and is only one level.

Anyone in North DFW looking for boys clothes, the Firewheel Dillards has loads of summer stuff left at additional 40% off. Today was the first day I was able to make it to Dillards with my 11 year old for BTS shopping and was very pleasantly surprised to find a decent selection of shorts and shirts. First year in a while without uniforms, so this was an awesome shopping day at Dillards. He didn't even complain about my side trip into the misses department!

Mine never print out if I'm one cent under (drives me mad too), but the cashiers usually will force it if I'm that close.

Lots of new markdowns in toys today (all at 30%), but nothing hitting 75%. Last year, they rearranged everything before the 75% markdowns, so I'm guessing that if I see everything being consolidated, the markdown will follow shortly. Right now, clearance is all over the place. Summer clearance still ringing 90%. Probably today is the last day before salvage. New markdowns in food. Got the large bottles of Sweet Baby Ray BBQ Sauce for 1.27 (exp. 2/2011). These were not out yesterday.

Hit 3 Targets today. They must have gone 90% yesterday, because the only items I was able to find were in regular isles (no end caps w/summer markdowns to be found anywhere). Scored the ice cream maker (thanks for posting the pics Katie811) and some of the other items mentioned. Some Crayola sidewalk chalk is also 90% off (not sure if everyone mentioning the chalk is talking about the blue packaged summer products, or the Crayola brand). We were in San Diego for Comic Con last year and the first wave of 75% occurred during that week. I remember well because I had to buy extra luggage to pack some of my finds from a local Target. The following Thursday we were home and there was another wave of 75% markdowns here in Texas, so the markdowns may span both weeks, or maybe I was in the right place at the right time. I did notice that there were several items I purchased in California that never went down in Texas, so squeezing in the shopping trip was worth it (even though I missed a couple of panels;)). Kids had dental appointments this morning and the closest TRU is close to the office (3 cities away) so I always swing by TRU if they have good checkups and all the clearance was an extra 25%!! Clerk said that it started last week, but I didn't see anything posted in my search. LOTS of markdowns all over the store. Star Wars Mighty Muggs rang up $6.73 (had to get the Darth Maul:D), Nike Keystone baseball gear bag was 11.23 orig 20.00 and a Texas Rangers over the door basketball hoop set rang up 2.98 orig 10. This was the TRU in Allen.

Black dot 75% at Wylie and North Garland. Signs at Wylie still read 50%, so lots left. The 50% sign had run date thru 7/11, but everything was 75%.

All our paper products were still full price today. Cornered a manager to get the skinny on when they would go down and he said that those products were guaranteed by the manufacturer to be bought back at full price, so they wouldn't be marking them down. (This was in Wylie) I did find the shirts marked down to $3, but passed on them too. So bummed, as we go thru paper plates and cups like crazy during the summer months.

Thanks for the info! I'm a fan of the summary. I always appreciate the "###" posts as it saves me so much time when I'm on the hunt and not able to read through everything when I'm running around.
