1. Due to travel, I was a day late for the DFW sales but still did pretty good. In California, stopped by a Target on my way to the airport and ended up repacking my luggage in the parking lot to fit in some toys!! I think I need an intervention . . . I looked thru the first page posts (###) for any duplicates and didn't see these listed: ###086002565 Backyard Safari Blow Dart Set 3.24 was 12.99 ###087101666 Bakugan Brawl Board game 3.74 was 14.99 ###204120150 Science Wiz Electricity 5.18 was 20.79 ###204120215 Science Wiz Light 5.18 was 20.79 ###204120151 Science Wiz Chemistry 5.18 was 20.79 ###086002488 Pixos Storage Unit 2.48 was 9.99 ###204120432 Fizzy Foam Science 5.18 was 20.79 ###086002494 Nickelodeon Slime 1.98 was 7.99 ###204120214 Science Wiz Energy 5.18 was 20.79 ###204120148 Science Wiz Inventions 5.18 was 20.79 ###087070103 Tech Deck 2 Step 2.48 was 9.99 ###086080026 Mario Bros Petey Piranha 1.98 was 7.99 (also had other characters) ###204120286 Wizard Wand .98 was 3.99 ###204120341 Potty Putty .48 was 1.79 ###087070104 Tech Deck Hubba Hideout 14.99 was 3.74 ###087101780 Guess What I Am game 3.74 was 14.99 ###087021319 Supaslat Multiblaster 7.48 was 29.99 ###086001216 Phlatball Tornado 3.47 was 14.99 (rang up 2.00 on the receipt, weird) ###087110053 Airblaster Big Blast 2.47 was 9.99 ###204022027 FP Chalk Spray Painter 3.74 was 14.99 ###087062095 Gormiti Starter Pack 4.98 was 19.99 ###087061987 Superhero Squad 1.74 was 6.99 ###087000002 Bakugan Attack card game 1.74 was 6.99 ###087050605 Airhogs Zero Gravity 7.48 was 29.99 ###204110513 Nat Geo 3D projector 4.78 was 19.19 ###087021471 Funkeys 4 pack 4.98 was 19.99 ###087061685 Bakugan stuffed characters 1.98 was 7.99 (several varieties)
2. Went to Target today to pick up a few items and made a run thru toys. Found new markdowns that weren't there on Thursday, so looks like my store is marking outside of their "regular" schedule. Just when I thought I had it all figured out (2 years in the learning curve), they put a kink in the works!! Oh well, I'm still on the hunt and will be in California next week stalking with the West Coast GottaDealers! ###Indiana Jones Lego Sets 30% off ###Large Bionicle sets 30% off ###outside pool toys (the ones in the bins) 30% off
3. Nothing new in toys but hit the motherload in domestics. Tons of comforter sets were marked 75% off along with sheets and various bedding. Also found a set of lights with footballs, baseballs, basketballs and soccer balls as covers. ###097022329 circo string light sports theme 3.87 was 15.49 ###bedding (comforter sets, sheet sets, various bedding) 75% off
4. Forgot to post I found these (OBI-WAN KENOBI'S JEDI STARFIGHTER Ride-on Pool Float) for 5.98 and not sure what the original price was, but very happy to have scored them. Didn't have tags and were "hidden" behind some other toy items. Sooo glad my youngest has eagle eyes!
5. Every toy isle was filled with red clearance stickers! Looked like at least half the inventory was marked down. That surprised me. Terminator, GI JOE, Funkeys, Tech Deck, Spy Gear and lots of other lines newly marked. NOTHING had gone 75%. Lots of things marked 30% had moved to 50% and tons of items not marked yesterday went 30%. Everything that I remembered being 50% yesterday remained at 50% today.
6. Patio still at 30% and 50%. Some of the 30% did get marked 50% today, but that's it. BTS being set, so maybe after the holiday weekend I'll see 75%. Grills still full price.
7. They included reimbursement for a new waffle maker, but I'm a little spooked about buying another one. I did buy trivets for all my other countertop appliances, so hopefully I'll avoid this mess ever happening again. Live and learn . . . :)
8. Final Update: Got a letter for "Release of all Claims" that basically says if I sign and release them of any/all liability, they will pay for repair/resurfacing to my damaged countertop. I have to say, Tfal has been very up front (I was a little worried when I sent off the defective appliance as to whether I would ever hear back from them) and very efficient. I am satisfied with the outcome. Great input from everyone and I appreciate all of you taking the time to encourage me to follow up with Tfal. Have a great 4th of July!
9. Saw one in the Kroger sales flyer for $25 w/transfered prescription. CVS will accept competitors coupons. HTH
10. ###002070618 Global 3 drawer storage (dark wood and wicker) 19.98 was 79.99 ###Spider Man Web of Shadows for PS2 7.48 was 29.99 (been stalking this for a month, waiting for it to drop from 50% to 75%) ###Hefty quart bags .98 was 1.97 and used .55 MQ = .43 (stickers were 1.27, so I was pleasantly surprised when they rang up 50% off) ###patio furniture 50% off ###pet travel products (window guards, organizers that you hang over your car seat, and some other items I can't remember) 75% off All the toys that were marked 30% and 50% last week remained the same. I guess it will be the slow torturous markdown schedule like I endured during January!!
11. Toys marked 30%-50% (like previous posts) and on regular shelf space (no "clearance isles"). Let the stalking begin!! Also found end caps with down comforters, feather beds, hand towels and washcloths marked 75% off. I picked up these for my guest room: ### 062201152 Woolrich down-free blanket full/queen 240 thread count 11.24 was 44.99 (also had these in twin sizes, colors: blue, white, tan) ### 062201013 Woolrich white goose featherbed full size 240 thread count 17.48 was 69.99
12. Update: Tfal rep called to let me know that they opened up the waffle maker and one of the "components" had come loose and shorted out causing the unit to overheat. So grateful it didn't start a fire!! He stated that they are waiting for all my paperwork. I just had the estimate completed and am sending off all the documentation tomorrow. Thanks again to everyone for all the support, suggestions and constructive comments! I'll let you know the final outcome.
13. Wow, that's earlier than I remember! I'll have to check out my Targets and see if we have begun. Anyone in DFW seen movement?
14. Yup, I checked another CVS today and the cheapest I could find were $10.99 too. Maybe the reading glasses are the ones that start at 5.99? Bummer we couldn't find any cheaper, but the hunting was fun. Found a few more Bounty paper towels at 75% off, so not quite a wasted trip. Thanks to everyone for posting!
15. Found single rolls of Bounty and Viva paper towels on clearance for 75%. They rang up .52 and .55 but sign on the shelf was only 25% off. Took them to the scanner and I was pleasantly surprised. If you have any manufacturers coupons, could be a money maker. I had a $10 off $30 and the cashier let me use another $4 off $20, so I did pretty good and now have enough paper towels to last through the summer and then some. Has anyone done the sunglasses deal? Need some cheap ones and couldn't find any in the store for less than $17.99.
16. Got a response yesterday. They emailed, wanted me to call, I did. They needed more info then sent me a prepaid label and want the waffle maker mailed to their repair/tech department so they can figure out what malfunctioned. Got it ready to go this afternoon. I'll drop it off in the morning. I'll keep you posted. After hearing me complain one too many times about my countertop, my youngest boy suggested we put a band aid over the burn mark! If only it were that easy . . .
17. Found all these marked 75% off on their regular shelf space: Reynolds Wrap (75 sq ft) $1.25, CVS Plastic wrap (250 sq ft) $.95, 80 count 9 oz plastic cups $.80, Ziploc (3 count) Twist n Loc small round containers w/lids $.92, Green Label paper plates (6in) 100 count $.75. Also, all the watches were 50% off and I needed a cheapie for the pool, so I scanned the one I wanted and it was $1.67 (orig 14.99)! Had to buy a battery for it, and that was $4.19 (almost 3 times what I paid for the watch)!! Used a $4 off $20 purchase, so not a bad day at CVS.
18. Thanks for all the advice. I've taken shots of both the defective appliance and the burn mark on my counter. Sent Tfal my complaint yesterday and will see how far I get. That burn spot is making me crazy! It's smack-dab in the middle of the counter! Of course, while I was using the waffle maker, I put it there so it wouldn't touch anything else and have plenty of room so the steam wouldn't melt anything! Who new it'd burn a whole in my countertop from underneath! Gotta laugh so I don't cry!!
19. Not sure if this is the appropriate forum, but I'm desperate, so here goes. I bought a Tfal Avante Sandwich/Waffle (T-Fal SM6010003) from Target in March. It was on clearance and out of the box, but had all the attachments sans the instruction manual. I downloaded the manual and used the appliance with much delight as it made great little waffles for my family. Yesterday, while making waffles, I noticed a burning smell. Thought at first it might be the waffles, but the smell was very acidic. Unplugged the waffle maker, took a look and the darn thing had bubbled on the bottom (like something inside had burned up and the plastic bottom was melting). In the process, the Tfal Waffle Maker burned a hole in my counter top!! The burn is not huge (about 3mm in diameter) but it SCREAMS at me every time I look at it! My counter is a light blue and the mark is like a beacon to my eyes. Do I have ANY recourse? I know that I can return the defective product (still have the receipt) but is there anything I can do about the countertop?? Or am I hosed?? Any direction would be greatly appreciated.
20. Here in DFW still at 50% off. ###aosept contact disinfecting solution 3.48 was 6.99 ###aosept disposable cup and disc 2.54 was 5.09 ###midol 2.48 was 4.99 ###various maxi pads, feminine products 50% off ###TONS of kleenex and puffs boxed tissues marked 30% off
21. L'oreal lip gloss, bronzer, powders and shadows marked down 75%. Had some manufacturer's coupons too, so got most for under $1 each. They had the little round green stickers on them but were mixed in with the regular priced products. Had lots to choose from.
