  1. I don't know how this would go over but I remember being in the same predicament as you are and some suggested a yearly subscription to playboy. I checked with the wives and girlfriends of all the groomsmen to make sure there would be no hard feelings and luckily they all loved the idea. So my groomsmen were treated to a yearly subscription to Playboy and I can tell you that they still tell me it's the best gift they ever got and what a great idea it was.
  2. I've always found Sears prices on tires installed to be rather high. Your best bet is to shop around and especially visit some local independent dealers. I've always made out pretty well doing that. Some places around here will offer a better price if I ask for their best price. There's always tirerack.com too but you have to figure in the cost of shipping and having them installed at a local shop.
  3. I'm looking for an inexpensive laptop for my wife preferably $400 or less. I figure in that price range the options would be Vista Home Basic or XP. I think XP would be a better choice then the Vista Home Basic. Can laptops still be found new with XP for good deals?
  4. Walmart has an online special on the Garmin 265WT for $238. This is the same GPS Circuit Cty has on sale tomorrow for $249.99
  5. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. The Altec Lansing at Circuit Cty looks like a good one. And that price is good for that model.
  6. I really want to get my wife a docking speaker system for her Ipod. She's been wanting one for a long time to use in the house when she's doing housework or relaxing. I'm looking for one that will be loud enough to hear through the whole house. Our house is 1 floor so that shouldn't be too difficult. I saw some listed in the black Friday ads but I don't know which one would be the best deal.
  7. Any guesses on how many Garmin 265WT's Circuit Cty will have? The price is $249 and it's in the Friday and Saturday only section but I don't think that means there will be enough to last both days. I probably won't be able to get there until I get out of work Friday evening.
  8. The general rule with windows operating systems has always been to at least double microsofts minimum recommendation for RAM.
  9. That is very good to know. Thanks for the advice. Do you know if Fuji and TDK are equal in quality?
  10. The only problem with best buy is at our local BB they start lining up around 8:00 Thanksgiving night. Nothing could make get in line that early. It seems like every year the crowds get to BB earlier. I remember a few years ago it was midnight when they started arriving and last year it was 8:00. I only know because the local news covers it every year.
  11. I saw that staples has a really good price on a 60 pack of blank DVD's but unfortunately I have to work on BF and I don't have a staples close to where I live so I'd be cutting it close. Did anyone see any other good deals on blank DVD's?
  12. You are either: A) Full of crap or Seriously mis-informed I co-own a small computer repair shop and I can guarantee you that what you are saying is not true.
  13. I think I'm going to get the $449 one with 512MB and WiFi. Does Dell ever offfer deals like this on desktops? Myself and a few family members want to get my Mom a new desktop for X-Mas.
  14. And it comes with a Lithium-Ion battery. That is a sweet deal Rossman!!!! That beats the Walmart and CC BF laptops. I think I'm going to order one.
  15. That's actually a great idea but could use a little tweaking. See Below. Easy solution to that is the stores can make it clear that they will hand the tickets out every hour on the hour. So starting at Midnight, 1:00 AM, 2:00 AM etc. then if you have to relieve yourself or warm up you know when it's safe to go. This may even work by handing them out every 2 hours instead of every hour.
  16. Do you think any lessons were learned this year and do you think anything will be different next year? Walmart seemed to get the most bad press in the news because of the fights and stampedes. I'm not surprised becasue it doesn't seem that many walmarts (if any at all) offered any vouchers or had any type of crowd control at all. I'm just wondering what it will take for them to wake up. I hope all the stores do something to streamline the system so someone doesn't get severly hurt or even killed. We hear about inexplicable violence in the news everyday and I would not at all be surprised to see a headline that read something like: "Man Shoots And Kills Two People Over A $400 Laptop At Walmart." BF used to be fun and but now it's getting dangerous.
  17. I haven't seen any mention of the Gameboy SP's yet. Our Walmart only had 20 which shocked me. I wasn't surprised with the limited quantities on the desktop or laptop but I thought for sure they would have at least a 100 Gameboys.
  18. It was in Orlando. I searched online but I haven't been able to find a link to it yet.
  19. CNN showed a very chaotic walmart in Florida this morning. They actually showed on the news two guys in a knockdown fist fight over a laptop. There were people saying they just left because they were afraid of getting severly hurt.
  20. I just watched CNN. Were you the one with your Mom being interviewed inside the store? There was no mention of GD but it could have been edited.
  21. They didn't have many desktops either. I just missed getting the last one. I'm in Albany, NY and I was very surprised when I showed up at 4:30 expecting to see a huge line and there was hardly anyone. It was the shortest line I have ever seen on BF at walmart. And they opened the doors 20 minutes early.
  22. This auction has pictures so it must have been available in some stores before BF. http://cgi.ebay.com/HP-Pavilion-ze2308wm-Notebook-PC-AMD-1-6Ghz-SEALED_W0QQitemZ6822879497QQcategoryZ31550QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  23. But the point is how on earth can they even still be offering NiMH batteries? This is what drives me crazy about Dell, they cut more corners than any other manufacturer. NiMH batteries are ancient technology compared to Lithium Ion.
  24. In the latest PC World magazine they recommend AVG antivirus which is free over Norton which is $50.
