    Teacher Gifts

for the first 10 years i taught in poorer urban schools, never received a xmas gift, and thought nothing of it. then we moved and i taught in the best school in a good district--and got a range of gifts. (no trips to vail!) having been on both ends, xmas gifts for my class were great. but larger or personal gifts felt wrong. just a thought, but if i receive a xmas gift, i'd prefer a homemade jar gift or a classroom gift. better yet, an end of the year gift...after grades are done. but still something classroom/teacher related.
  15. i tried the color wonder fingerpaint because i found it on clearance at target in the fall. my 2c-- it's texture is vaseline-like. my daughter scoops it out and smears it on the special paper in seconds. done! it requires special paper. but, it isn't messy like regular finger paint. (just greasy.) and it is fun.
  16. that's too funny! as kids, we always had an orange in the toe of our stocking. we had to eat it before my parents would come down. clever, huh? picking the slowest fruit! but, i don't remember minding. it was part of our xmas.
  17. this is the year to start stockings! so, where are your favorite places to find stuffers? what do you put in stockings? :)
  18. i also cannot imagine life without our garmin nuvi. it speaks---or not. it saves addresses searched so you don't have to type them in again. and, as someone said, it's nice to have the feature that finds restaurants, shops that are in the area. we've used that several times when we want to stop at a park or restaurant or grocery store while on vacation. totally worth every penny.

  20. nov 5-12 they also have the scratch coupons in stores for 10,15,20%.
  21. can also use a neosporin or bandaid insert coupon. both brands are mentioned on the box. a manager let me buy two combo boxes on clearance and use one neosporin and one bandaid coupon.
  22. thank you, thank you, and thank you. :)
  23. okay! i give in! what do the caddies look like? are they on endcaps or in the aisle?
  24. bought a garmin nuvi at sam's. lovelovelove it. used the feature to search for nearby restaurants/shopping while driving across the state. SO handy for knowing which exit to get off.
  25. were they on an endcap or in an aisle?
