  1. if you earn bucks at the outlet, can you spend them at the non-outlet?
  2. so, i just received my first gymbucks and discovered the fine print: they are good for a certain period of time i'll have to spend $25 oop to use the $25 in gymbucks i can't combine with other discount codes but i can use them on clearance items. (which, of course, are the only ones i buy!) wouldn't it be cheaper to NOT use these bucks? and wait until i can use a discount code on clearance items and not have to spend what they want me to? i'd love to hear from some experienced gymbucks/gymboree shoppers. tia! :)r
  3. i don't know about shipping $ but if you order online, you can always take your receipt and a coupon into the store and they'll price adjust.
  4. some may be advertised in the newspaper. but, there's also a section on craigslist for garage sales. it's listed under 'for sale.' estate sales will be listed in that section. i'd check there. there's also this site but it looks like most of these sales are managed by professional companies. might be more expensive. http://www.estatesales.net/estate-sales/CA/Los-Angeles-Orange-County.aspx
  5. thank you all so much! now i know which stores to hit. much nicer than searching aimlessly with a 6yo in tow.
  6. Anyone seen1-D youth tshirts for sale any place other than their official website? TIA :)rachel
  7. jason's deli. free $5 with purchase of $50.
  8. if you can wait, you might have a scholastic warehouse sale near you. it's a great source of books, especially if you do the 'build a box' option. http://www.scholastic.com/bookfairs/events/warehouse/
  9. anyone remember when the pools and slip and slides hit clearance? noticed that kind of stuff is 50% off at toysrus this week so hoping soon...
  10. dh got xm with his car 5 years ago. every october, i call on the last day of his subscription and very nicely tell them that he loves xm but i think it's unnecessary and unless they can honor the same price, including taxes, i'll cancel it. sometimes they bump me to 3 or 4 people but it works.
  11. i don't know when it will be marked down again but i asked yesterday and he said it'll be on a thursday. at least that might save you trips friday-wednesday!
  12. did anyone record when the toys hit 75% last year? i think it was the thursday before mlk jr day but maybe i'm remembering wrong... gotta have it in my calendar so i don't make any plans on that day!
  13. what's your usual stuff? :) an orange in the toe and a comic digest. (my mom did that. we had to eat it and read it before we could wake her up!) underwear. flashcards. travel games. legos.
  14. i used a 40% off toy coupon stacked with a bn membership to buy a 300+ set that includes some cool pieces like wheels. $11. i'm sure bn is more expensive than other places....but i didn't want to take a chance cause that seemed like a good deal based on all your advice. (also in my budget. actually, dh thought it was over budget! lol!) a bogo50% would be more than i wanted to buy. course i'll keep the receipt and can always return it if target or tru comes up with something better. :)

    space gift?

trying to think of a space themed gift for a 5yo. he has the phases of the moon thing. jigsaw puzzles, a twilight turtle, and stars that glow in the dark. any other ideas? hoping to work with a $20 budget. tia, :)r
  16. amazing how there are girl and boy legos and tinkertoys now, eh? the legos aren't for her. she inherited an awesome collection of legos from a neighbor. they're for her bf who's a boy and loves to play with them. i might have thrown the tru toy catalog away?... or maybe i haven't seen it yet? i know i don't actually have one. how would i put my little hands on one?
  17. thank you both. the legos are for a 5 yo-- so the "regular" sized. yes! a building set. that's what i was thinking. i've never seen those. what sale price should i be waiting for? we've priced 16" bikes at a bike store, walmart, target, and dicks. the bike store is probably the better bike but way expensive. we'd get a used one there...but target has a princess bike. guess which one dd5 would pick?! :)
  18. i've never had to buy legos. hoping to give a big container of all kinds of pieces, not the little kits for making one certain thing. are they sold only in the kits? are there ever any holiday sales? is it a better deal to buy a bulk lot on ebay (about $30/500 pieces shipped) or to buy the fill your own containers at the lego store? (a store is about an hour away so i have no idea about that option.) dh wants to buy dd a bike for xmas and has charged me with finding one on sale. are bikes ever on sale in the dead of winter!? lol tia! :)r
