  1. I am not 100% certain, but I *think* you can download up to 10 movies on the Fire and have them to watch at any time. I think the only reason you would have to have a prime account is if you want to have access to free streaming movies 24/7. I could be totally wrong but I think that is what I read on the Kindle message boards.
  2. Needing ideas... what is on your Christmas list this year? :) So far, my list includes: Kindle Fire Vera Bradley E-reader cover New Vera Bradley Wallet to match my purse pattern The Band Perry CD (I will download it to my ipod then leave it in the car :) ) Subscription to Paper Crafts Magazine How about you?
  3. Here is a great starter set for LEGO. It comes with a bunch of different sized pieces, and a building platform. It's a great way to go. http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Ultimate-Building-Set-Pieces/dp/B000NO9GT4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319816777&sr=8-1 I find that Target usually has great sales on LEGOs quite often (my store also has the set mentioned above), but usally for the sets that build something specific. ToysRUs have frequent sales, but their prices are more expensive to begin with, so even after sales, you still get a better deal at Target. As far as the bike, if your daughter is little, you can get reasonably priced bikes at Walmart, Target, TRU... We got both of our boys bikes last year for less than $100 each.
  4. What we spend depends on our budget and that varies each year. We have paid off a ton of debt this year, so we have a little more room in the budget. I try to keep the number of presents and the amount spent the same for each of my boys. They are asking for big ticket items from Santa (one wants a 3DS and one wants a netbook/tablet), so they know that they will get smaller items from mom and dad. By the time all is said and done, we will likely have spent about $500 each on them, but I have been shopping since August, so it doesn't seem like that much if I do it a little at a time. My parents and sisters spoil them rotten too, and we open everything all together so they get a ton of stuff by the time they have opened their presents from everyone. As far as the rest of my family, I always spend the most on my mom (this year about $150), and then everyone else usually $40-$60 each depending on budget. I spend less on teachers, my BFF's family (they get a family gift), etc. DH and I usually spend about $200 on eachother. In the end, our budget is about $2,000 total for everyone.

    Layaway

I am so excited to hear this! I just checked, and my local store is participating too. I am sort of hesitant though, because when I read the terms, is says that items will be made available to you within 14 days of the final payment. And if they can not produce the items you selected in your layaway contract, you will receive a refund for those items. I would hate to be paying on a layaway from now until Christmas and then go to pick it up, and find out that they don't have my items available... When you start the layaway, is it like at KMart when you actually physically check out with the items and they bundle them together and put your name on them? Or do they do it differently?
  6. I will be making little hot beverage gifts. I found some coffee cozies at the Target Dollar Spot that had an ugly felt flower on them, so I cut off the flowers and am making my own felt flowers to attatch. I will put them on a travel beverage cup, and put a small Starbucks giftcard inside with some chocolate dipped spoons :)
  7. Went back to Target today and mine was completely sold out of the XBOX bundle, they had 1 for PS3 and quite a few for 3DS and Wii. There were still quite a few figures left, but much less than when I was there on Sunday. There was only 1 3-pack left, but alot of the single figures. I am so curious to see how these sell closer to the holidays.
  8. It is rated E10+. But there are people on the Skylanders facebook page mentioning how much their 6 year old love it. We have not played it yet, so I can't say for sure how difficult it is, but my boys are 8 and 9 and are really looking foward to it :)
  9. I picked up a bundle and the Whirlwind figure at Target on Sunday morning. I plan to get more figures a little at a time between now and Christmas. Walmart didn't have them at all. That really stinks that someone was allowed to buy 10 of them! I sure he knows people will pay top dollar closer to Christmas. People like that are the ones that make things impossible to find
  10. Do you know if you are able to buy the amazon kindle gift cards that they sell at Target to apply towards my balance, or are they strickly for downloading new books and apps? Also, what are amazon payments? I was reading about them, but am unsure if I have understood correctly. You can register your bank account and then deposit money from your bank account to your amazon payment account to apply towards your balance? Or no? Is it like the amazon version of paypal? Thanks for the tip about the kindle message board. I will be sure to check them out. I pre-ordered my Kindle Fire tonight. SO excited! :)
  11. So sorry for this silly question but how do you add money to your amazon account? I would love to pay a little at a time until it ships, but save my place in line by preordering. You have to pay nothing at the time of pre-order?
  12. I have ordered from Walgreens and Seehere in the past and have been pleased with both :)
  13. I have been researching these, and boy oh boy, they look COOL! Logan will love it for sure. This is one of those gifts that I will be SO excited to give... he loves this kind of stuff. Check it out :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ui3GRImyzfs I am sure he will want every character, but his birthday is in May, and I figure I can get him some for that, maybe some for Valentine's Day or something... I am sure it will end up costing a fortune in the long run, but I know he will play it often.
  14. This morning on the way to school, my sons and I were talking about things that they might want for Christmas. My 9 year old mentioned only one thing - Skylanders. I asked him what it was and he told me to search on google because it was too hard to explain it all. So I did, and found that it is a video game for all of the major platforms that comes in a bundle with 3 figurines that synch to the game somehow and you can play in a virtual world. There will also be add-on packs. But the bundle is $70, and I am worried it will be a novelty thing... Just curious if anyone else's children are mentioning these? It is being released on Sunday, October 16th, and I am wondering how fast I have to scramble to get one if I want to get one for my son. You can read more about them here: http://www.skylanders.com/
  15. I have started picking up a few things here and there, and have a layaway at Kmart. It's hard for me to shop too early because my oldest son changes his mind at the last minute...
  16. I am THRILLED to hear this!! I agree that Kmart has been pricey lately. Now if only Target would do layway. I'd be in heaven!
  17. I found a pair of Tritton Surrond Sound Gaming headphones for XBOX/PS3 on clearance today. They were $41.32 down from $59.99. They were in the electronics department, on the regular shelves on a locked peg, not at the end of the aisle where then normal clearance stuff was.
  18. Thank you both, so very much :) Wow, I LOVE your fireplace! And all of your packages look so pretty all wrapped under the tree. That is an adorable little sign on the media cabinet too! :)
  19. Here are some of mine :) We have a living room/ dining room combination. 22. For us, about $1500 by the time all is said and done. I saved a ton with coupons, gottadeal, and the target debit card 5% back though, but retail would probably be about $2000.
  23. Anyone think that "Party Games Galore" in the Video Game category (at 12:15 PSDT) could be Wii Party? I just paid full price to made sure I got it for DS, but I would love to get it cheaper!! *fingers crossed*
  24. I went ahead and used the $5 off Fisher Price toys of $19.99 or more and got the Imaginext Space Shuttle. It was price reduced from the original price of $39.99 down to $34.99, and with the $5 coupon, it was $29.99. It's worth the extra $.99 for me to not have to fight for one on BF (It's in the BF ad for $29). There weren't many left at my store, maybe 8 or so. Just a heads up for those that are interested :) Oh, and I thought maybe I could price match it at Walmart on BF, but it says it's a target exclusive, so I grabbed it. DS will be so excited. He loves his other Imaginext toys!
  25. I think it's Target that has the all floors model (DC17) on sale on BF for $269. I have that model and love it. :)
