  1. Hi, I consulted DH he is always downloading music. He suggested Walmart for music downloads. (I had no clue they even did that:D ) http://musicdownloads.walmart.com/catalog/servlet/MainServlet Check out their special pricing section. They have some songs for $0.54 each. The rest of their songs appear to cost between $0.88 and $0.94 Happy Holidays!
  2. Wow great job! I'm sure she is going to have a great Christmas. Hugs to you and your sisters. Merry Christmas!
  3. Targets dollar section has some football party supplies now. So cute!
  4. How about a throw or blanket in her favorite color. Or maybe a new bathrobe. Bath and Body Works has "The Sweetest Softest Robe on Earth" for $39.00 online and I belive it is $35.00 in the store. They have been giving coupons for $10 off a $30 purchase coupons in your bag when you made a purchase at their store. You could buy a travel size lotion or antibacterial cream for $3-$3.50 and get the coupon for the robe. Does she like pretty stationary? You can find some very pretty stationary at Barnes and Noble and Borders. You may even consider getting her a book. Maybe about dogs or crafts, anything she is interested in. Have a great Holiday!
  5. Anybody know about Hallmark after Christmas? I really like the quality of their wrapping paper. Happy Holidays!
  6. Not going out today, even though the weather is the nicest today. Will be heading out in the morning tomorrow. First stop Whole Foods, they open at 7:30am and I plan on being there when they open or soon after. Whole Foods is busy, busy, busy during the rest of the year, but are absolutly CrAzY during the holidays. The store here in Boulder has the 3rd highest volume in the country and it is quite small. Luckily there will be more opening soon! My second stop is Target, yet I don't remember why at the moment. Actually I guess my first stop is Starbucks for a Chai and then Big City Burritos for one of there YummY breakfast burritos, so that I have energy for the entire day. Have fun and Merry Christmas!
  7. I see that the Semi-Annual Sale is online. Is it in stores too? Thank you!
  8. Hi, I'm going back to school too. I think the bag and supplies are a great idea. It shows that you support him in his adventure of returning to school. I'm studying Applied Mathematics and go through tons of pencils (I like the Dixon brand, not the natural unpainted ones, they seem to splinter and don't sharpen as well.) and I have at least 5 pencil sharpeners:fluffy: I also love the Post It note flags, they are very helpful when taking notes and while doing research. You could even get him a Starbucks card or any other coffee place card, and add it to the bag. Happy Holidays!
  9. When he opens the screen protectors with his stocking stuff. You can say "Oops I forgot those were in there. I bought those a month ago. I guess we have to return them now.":D or How about adding a box of candy. I put a box of JuJuBe's candy with a gift for my Dad, so when he picks it up, it'll sound like a big box of candy. The JuJuBe's are soo noisy! Merry Christmas!
  10. I belive I am done shopping. I just need to check DH's stocking, to see if I need to pick up anything else. All the packages were shipped last week and have all arrived safe and sound. 95% of the gifts are wrapped. I didn't get to decorate like I wanted to. We've had high winds and when it wasn't windy we had ice and snow and I couldn't get in to the garage where my decorations are. Soo frustrating. I need to run to the post office to send out a pair of running shoes to my brother in Iraq. He emailed that his shoes were wearing down, so I went to the running store where he got them and pick up another pair for him. I Love the Holidays! Soo much to do, soo much fun to have. Soo much to celebrate!!! Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. For this year, how about eating left overs on Christmas Day. My husband and I plan on making a ham and having it on Christmas Eve and then having yummy ham sandwiches on Christmas Day, so we can relax and not worry about a big dinner. Make less side dishes, or cut out one or two of the most expensive dishes. I'm not a fan of Honey Baked Ham, so instead I pick up a spiral sliced ham at the grocery store and make my own simple glaze. Honey+Brown Sugar+Fruit Juice=Yummy ham glaze!!! Targets Archer Farms Spiral Sliced Ham is good, even without the glaze and is on sale for $1.69lb this week. Brush on the glaze and warm in the oven and you are done! The same goes for appetizers, 2-3 types is plenty. Veggies are great because they are nice and light, especially with all of the rich holiday foods. And besides, you want them to eat dinner, since you've worked so hard preparing it. How about having 2 types of drinks instead of a full bar. If you all drink beer, you could have beer and a punch. There are a lot of simple homemade punch recipes. I bet you can find one you like on FoodNetwork.com http://search.foodnetwork.com/food/recipe/punch/search.do?searchString=punch&site=food&gosearch=&searchType=Recipe For next year, ask guests to bring a side dish or their favorite drink and tell them to bring enough for everyone. Consider having another family member host the festivities. Even if the party is at your house one day and the next at a different relatives. My DH's family enjoys Christmas Eve at a different home each year. Next Christmas Eve have everyone over for dessert instead of dinner. On Christmas Day consider having brunch or Christmas lunch instead of Dinner. All lesser expensive meals. Talk to your family about making some changes and having them chip in. With all of the work you put in to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day festivities, you shouldn't have to burden all of the cost. Merry Christmas!
  12. I would talk to her about it and let her know how changing the list made you feel.
  13. Thank you for your time, I appreciate it! This would be for my husband and he is who I would typically ask about these things.:) Happy Holidays!
  14. Can this Monitor be used as a TV or to play Video Games on?
  15. The Office Depot store in my town is always a stop for me. I find great deals in their clearence section and sometimes their clearence is extra 50% off. I have only made one purchase online, but will do more shopping online since they have such good Customer Service. Which is such a rarity these days. Happy Holidays!
  16. Hi Everyone, While reading the posts I've noticed that a few people give gifts to 40+ people. Wow, That is a lot of people! So I was thinking about who/how many people we give gifts to. Here's my list DH Mom Dad Brother My BFF 1st BIL & SIL and 2 Nephews 2nd BIL & SIL DH's Gma and Gpa DH's Dad and his new wife DH's Assistant Total of 16 people. So, 16 people total, 4 of the gifts are Couple/Family gifts and are Colorado themed gifts. The Nephews each got cool age appropriate gifts and books. DH's Assistant loves to workout and I put together a fun gift for her. I enjoy shopping for DH, my Mom, Dad and Brother, the most. I Love my family and I know them better than anyone else. So they are easy to shop for. My Mom, Dad and Brother will recieve at least 5 gifts each and a bunch of stocking stuffers. Oops I almost forgot about the puppies. 21. I just saw some around the head ear warmers (like 180's) in the Ace Hardware ad for $1. I know you have your gifts wrapped, but I wanted to let you know anyway. Have fun with your party! You should put sparkles on your childrens cheeks, like in The Santa Clause. I bet they will make wonderful elves. PS I saw a bags of bows at Target for $1 I don't remeber how many are in the bag, I think 10-12.
  22. I understand having something like a laptop not working come up and having to change plans for gift giving. I'm sure this is frustrating for you. I hope everything works out. I looked at the Seagull guitars. For the price of some of their guitars you could get her a new laptop and a inexpensive guitar for now and for her birthday you could get her the Seagull. Happy Holidays!
  23. Holiday Cards to Wounded and Recovering Soldiers Walter Reed Army Medical Center cannot accept packages, letters, and holiday cards addressed to 'Any Wounded Soldier' or 'A Recovering American Soldier'. The U.S. Postal Service is no longer accepting "Any Service Member" or "A Recovering American Soldier" letters or packages. Mail to "Any Service Member" that is deposited into a collection box will not be delivered. However, through a unique partnership between the American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes Inc., communities across America are invited to mail cards along with personal messages of support to wounded service members at military hospitals around the country. With the support of the U.S. Department of Defense and Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and with help from Pitney Bowes Government Solutions, the American Red Cross will collect, review and distribute holiday greeting cards to wounded military personnel. For security reasons, the Red Cross will be able to accept only holiday cards but not packages. Red Cross volunteers will receive and bundle the cards, which will be shipped by Pitney Bowes Government Solutions. Then, Red Cross volunteers at the medical facilities will distribute the cards throughout the holiday season. Please address your holiday cards to: We Support You During Your Recovery! c/o American Red Cross P.O. Box 419 Savage, MD 20763-0419 Be sure to affix adequate postage. Cards must be received no later than December 27. Cards received after this date will be returned to the sender. Again, senders are reminded that “care packages” are not part of the program––send only cards and notes. Also, please refrain from using glitter or any other inserts that would not be appropriate in a hospital environment. People who want to express their appreciation to American service members may also consider making a donation to one of the more than 300 nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping our troops and their families listed on the "America Supports You" website, www.americasupportsyou.mil Other organizations that offer means of showing your support for our troops or assist wounded servicemembers and their families include: http://www.usocares.org/ http://www4.army.mil/ocpa/tooursoldiers/ http://www.redcross.org The outpouring of gratitude and encouragement from the general public, corporate America and civic groups throughout the past year has been incredible. Our Warriors in Transition are amazed at the thanks and support they receive from their countrymen.
