  1. Hi, I just replyed to your post and then thought about making a thread for this, I did a search and it appears that you should contact Walter Reed to find a contact person to address the cards to. http://www.walterreedsociety.org/
  2. Hi, You should have them make cards for the recovering wounded soldiers at Walter Reid Medical Center. A Recovering American Soldier c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center 6900 Georgia Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20307-5001 Happy Holidays!
  3. I know what you mean. 90% off my shopping has been finished for a while. So when DH and I went to Target yesterday in the afternoon, there were a TON of people. I knew they would be busy, but Wow!!! Now there were a lot of people buying salt and shovels for the snow(6-8 inches over the weekend and we're on the border of recieving either 3-6" or 5-10" of snow tonight and all day tuesday) and the sleds were sold out. You would think people that live in Colorado would have already purchased these items. I decided that when I pick up some items from Whole Foods for Christmas, that I will be there when they open at 7:30am. Because they are always soo busy, especially this time of year. Happy Holidays!
  4. OMG My Husband is the exact same way! This morning he said "Kim, you should put my presents on the sofa so I can look at them and approve them":D When I had a gift for him in the trunk of the car he said. "I will get that for you, you must be tired from shopping" and when a package arrived from UPS the other day he said. "Whats in the box?, can I see whats in the box? Where did the box come from? Do you need help carrying the box?" He said this in one sentence with a great big smile on his face. And the box that he "offered to carry" weighed maybe 2lbs. I enjoy shopping for him and he has fun shopping for me too. So he keeps saying to me "I know what you're getting for Christmas" He is very silly and he's all mine!
  5. Hi Everyone, As I was packing up my parents package I realized "Only 15 days until Christmas day!" which also means 14 more shopping days and 12 days to ship and recieve packages. I found this on the USPS website. For gifts and cards to arrive on time, barring any weather delays. You should send out by the dates below. In the U.S Letters and Cards Priority Mail® Express Mail® Parcel Post® Dec 20 Dec 20 Dec 22 Dec 15 Happy Holidays!

And he likes the scent of Vanilla, but when he travels for work I worry he may forget to blow out a candle so I picked up a travel size bottle of Warm Vanilla Sugar body lotion from BBW Orig $3.50 I paid $0, free with any purchase. They are all getting more than what is listed here. Since I wrapped these gifts last night, it was easier to recall what they are. Everyone is also getting a University of Colorado mouse pad for their laptop. 7. My Brother recieves his packages in less than a week. If you send the package soon, I'm sure it won't be a problem. My Mom is sending him homemade goodies this week. All made with butter to help them stay fresh. Be sure to label the box PERISHABLE in big bold letters all over the box. It seems to help the packages arrive faster. Even if he gets them late. He will still LOVE the package and be very, very Happy! Happy Holidays!
  8. I have tried to write a paper at the computer labs. One time I had to use 4 seperate computers. It was soo frustrating. Soo much easier to write and research in the library or her room with her own computer. She most likely doesn't need a expensive computer. Keep checking the forums, I'm sure you can find one that will fit her needs with out being expensive. Happy Holidays!
  9. Maybe you can get her a less expensive quitar. Target has a Fender Starcaster Electric Guitar Orig 199.00 Now $149.99 It should also be in their ad this week. http://www.target.com/Fender-Starcaster-Strat-Guitar-Pack/dp/B000VOADMU/sr=1-1/qid=1197311790/ref=sr_1_1/602-0701439-1589453?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k%3Afender%20guitar&page=1 And a Fender Starcaster Acoustic Guitar Orig $149.99 Now $99.99 Also should be in their ad this week. http://www.target.com/Fender-Starcaster-Acoustic-Guitar-Pack/dp/B000VO6DBU/sr=1-2/qid=1197311905/ref=sr_1_2/602-0701439-1589453?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k%3Afender%20guitar&page=1 I'm not sure how much you were planning on spending. Maybe you can find a lesser expensive guitar to get her started and then upgrade the guitar next Christmas or for her Birthday. Also check at Marshalls, TJMaxx or Ross. Sometimes I see them there too. Happy Holidays!

  18. Does she have any favorite older movies that she would enjoy on Dvd? John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Katherine Hepburn? If you aren't sure of names of movies, but know the actor or actress you can try and look the movies up on imdb.com http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000031/ This links to Katherine Hepburn. Does she have a scrapbook of pictures of you and your family? I'm sure she would enjoy it a lot.

  20. Oh my! That is the cutest thing I think I have ever heard! I Love my girl! She makes me laugh and smile all day long!
  21. Have you all talked to anyone about how your son is acting? A counseler, therapist or family doctor. His behavior isn't normal and shouldn't be considered that way. He may be acting this way because he's suffering from depression or even dyslexia. It sounds like he needs help. I suffered from Clinical Depression and Panic Disorder when I was his age. My parents didn't understand what was going on and I finally felt strong enough to ask for help. I am doing great now, but my high school years were hell. Please get help for your son, you will be glad you did. And you should consider talking to someone yourself. Someone who can help you with the difficult questions and can help you with stress. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers.

  25. Some of My favorites are Brie and Fig Jam on toasted Baquette.!!!!!!! You can melt the Brie or eat it at room temp. Dalmatia Dried Fig Spread http://www.igourmet.com/Shoppe/search.aspx?qry=fig Gorgonzola and Cipolline Onions in Balsamic Vinegar on Toasted Baquette I like to chop up the onions in the food processor or slice them thinly . Then I spread the Gorgonzola on the Baquette and then top with the onions!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.igourmet.com/Shoppe/search.aspx?qry=onion I can also find the Balsamic Cipolline Onions in the salad bar at Whole Foods. Family Favorites (especially my DH) Hanky Panks 1 roll of Breakfast Sausage 1 small or medium size block of Velvetta (This is the only time I use Velvetta so I don't use a lot, but it is up to you. DH likes a lot of it, I like just a little) 1 loaf of sliced Cocktail size Rye bread. 1 pan and 1 cookie sheet Preheat oven to 350. Cook the sausage until done and drain the grease. Melt the Velveeta with the cooked sausage and stir until sausage is covered. Scoop sausage on to each slice of Rye bread and put the Rye bread slices on to the cookie sheet. Cook the Rye bread with the Sausage and Velveeta mixture for about 10 minutes, checking to see when the bread has toasted. My GodMother makes these, and when I first helped her make them(when I was 14) I thought they looked so yucky:D But they taste good and are one of our families favorite. Stuffed Jalapenos We typically grill these, but they can be placed in the oven too. 10 Fresh Jalapenos (we prefer the smaller ones) 8oz to 1lb of White Cheddar Cheese (depends on how cheesy you want them to be) 1 lb Bacon 1/2 cup of Teriyaki Sauce 1 Ziploc bag Toothpicks First unwrap the bacon and put in the Ziploc bag, then pour the Teriyaki sauce in the bag and let marinate. You can marinate in the fridge over night of for just a few hours. Whichever you prefer. Then wash and slice in half lengthwise the Jalapenos and then de-vein and de-seed them. Cut the White Cheddar in to 10 slices. Pull the Bacon out of the fridge and drain. Put on a plate. Put on slice of cheese on the inside of one half of Jalapeno, then put the other half of Jalapeno on top. Wrap the Cheese filled Jalapeno with a slice of Bacon and hold together with the toothpicks. Cook on the grill or in the oven until the Bacon is done.
