  1. it's the discontinued 60gb version that had it; possibly the 80gb as well. if its a version after that there is nothing you can do to get backwards compatability.
  2. I don't recall them being open last year on Thanksgiving. I know ON was but it's easier for them as they have tons of free standing stores while GAP is more mall based. At least in my area; ymmv.
  3. Since the post is about 2 weeks ago I'm sure the code has expired.
  4. You can no longer buy a new PS3 that has the backwards compatability. those versions are no longer made; you could check craigslist or even your local gamestop. I'm drawing a blank on what the last model was that offered this option...
  5. We'll be spending pretty much the same even though we have another child to buy for this year. We have Xmas Club accounts and I buy as I see good prices. Of course, since I'll be home until next year on maternity leave I have a lot of down time to shop :)
  6. Xmas Eve @ our house always starts with the kids making sure their rooms are clean and me possibly moving some things around (to make way for the new things :) then we will all bake cookies, take a ride around to admire Christmas decorations and then we come back home and have hot chocolate. After that we will watch a Christmas movie and then the kids get ready for bed. I usually try to have them in bed by 9 - 9:30. After that DH and I bring out all the presents and assemble any big items that need to be assembled. Thx to the snow that we got this weekend, I am so behind with preparations that I am seriously thinking about starting my vacation a day early.
  7. I don't put too much stock on the age groups that they place toys in. You know your child and know what they can or cannot handle. DS2 has several things that are for the 5-7 years age bracket and I know that they will be just fine for him. Same thing with DD6.
  8. I've spent right around what we estimated. Our budget this year was $2000 and I'm at $1800 and some change :) Me and DH both have Christmas Club accounts and half of our $$ comes from there. I have 2 reward cc's that I use but they are paid off as soon as the purchase posts. I have the cash but like using the cards for the perks. Some people aren't able to do that (my friend who has no idea what a budget is) but it works for me.
  9. Unfortunately, I'm in South Jersey near Philly. So we have to go North to hit Jackson and South to hit AC. I'd never be able to get away with that; he doesn't like shopping as it is
  10. I've gone to both. But we were jsut in Jackson back in October so we'll probably go to AC...but now you have me wanting to convice DH to go to Jackson.
  11. Thx so much for the coupon!! Was going this weekend and now I'm even more excited. I recieved the 25% off in the regular store coupon but nothing for the outlets. This made my day
  12. Maybe its a regional thing. I know for a fact neither of my local Macys carries them. Like the P/P said, our local Macy's sells Emu Boots.
  13. It depends on the gifts and the size of it; if it's a bike or something then they do't get wrapped. All 3 kids are getting flat screens for their rooms this year; I don't wanna wrap those boxes :)...DS2 is getting the Home Depot Power Tools Workshop so we'll assemble that Christmas Eve.
  14. I left my house about quarter after 9 Thursday night to get in line @ TRU. Got there and the line was already longer than usual; met up with my friend and we watched as the line got longer than we had ever seen it. There was an issue with line jumpers that caused the store to not open until about 12:20. I got in, me and my friend split up and I got everything that I came for and was out of there by 1:00. didn't realize our mall was opening @ midnight so I headed across the street and went to GameStop; picked up a Megaman game that my son had on his list. Restroom break. Then I headed over to WalMart; was there for RockBand and the V-Smile V-Motion system. It was pretty quiet and everyone was either in a line or just walking around the store; I headed back to the Rockband line and got in line. Luckily we were by home furnishings so the line was using the bar stools to have a seat :) Made friends in line and we all began to take turns scoping out other things in the store and grabbing what we could. Tix were handed out about 3:00, around 3:30 they started taking the wrap off other pallets but not ours. One of my line friends sent her husband to get the V-Motion for me as by now they were only letting people leave the line with the restroom pass which required you to give your ticket back until you returned. Around 4:00 they started handing the Rock Band out, I headed over to DVD's got what I needed and by 4:25 I was in the cash out line. The only issue was we all had to wait until 5, except they started around 4:45. I was like the 2nd person in my line so I was out of there. Headed to Target, the line was ridiculous. There was nothing important there for me so I headed home got about an hours worth of sleep and then DH and I headed to Home Depot where we got the pointsettas, some inflatables, and other things for decorating the house. Then off to another Target which was pretty dead by then and we picked up a few things in there. All in all, a good Black Friday, esp. since I had no major electronics on my list. I am still looking for a TV for DS13 and a computer or TV for my mom.
  15. I have to get there to get DD6 some clothes for Christmas but I am holding out as I have 3 of the spend $40, get $15 off coupons. They don't start until the 15th. I'll use maybe 1 or 2 prior to the holiday and then take her back after the holidays as they don't expire until the end of January.
  16. I'm @ $1260.00 but still have to get another TV and a computer. Also possibly an iPOD touch and a shuffle. Haven't gotten toys for any of DH's nieces/nephews or mine. They usually each get a toy and an outfit. I have gotten all of their outfits but still have to find toys. We also haven't done any clothes shopping for our 3 kids. We don't even include what we spend on each other...
  17. The Aerosoles brand is great. I have several pairs of boots and heels and I can walk on them all day. I actually have several pair from years back when I worked in retail and would be on my feet 8-9 hours on a daily basis.
  18. Weather in South Jersey was beautiful yesterday so we did all the outside decorations and then we decorated the tree ( I had put it up late Sat. night) and hung the garland over the fireplace. Now I just have to hang stockings, as soon as I can find new ones that I like.
  19. I DVR'd Christmas Vacation when it was on CMT soemtime last month; I'll still watch it again tonight!! I love that movie!!
  20. I did clothes last night however there's tons of toys and electronics that still need to be wrapped. I had every intention of wrapping tonight after work once the kids were sleep, however I woke up feeling a little under the weather so straight to bed I go. I can only get it done @ night or if hubby takes all the kids out for a while.
  21. My paper was delivered about 4 this morning! I'm in line @ K-Mart now...
  22. Qualified upgrade means that your phone company considers you in an upgrade period. that time period varies between companies as well as between users...
  23. There's not 6 or 7 pallets of laptops. There's 6 or 7 pallets of Black Friday merchandise, in general. If you're talking 10:30 - 11:00 PM Thursday night, the Best Buy line is usually in full force by then. At least at all the stores in South Jersey....
  24. If you're gonna go the refurb route, I say get it from Apple. They sale their refurbs with a one year warranty...besides that, the types of deals will mainly be regular price or a dollar or 2 difference with a gift card...
  25. really? I just got DD6 and I a pair and they were the same price. I have the short classic and she has the tall classic...when I was looking @ the difft. styles the price difference was only like $20... where do you purchase yours @? Thx.
