  1. Best Buy always has 2 ads, the paper ad, and then their unadvertised specials (some are in-store only, some are available online and in-store) on their website which they usually promote on tv the few days leading up to Black Friday. Almost always the best deals Best Buy has are the unadvertised specials which you have to look for on their website. last year everything in the paper ad, plus their unadvertised specials went on sale Thanksgiving Day. Also, many items in their ad are being beat already by other BF ads, so I would expect Best Buy will drop some prices to match, like the Sony Blu-Ray player for instance.
  2. The employee discount is already far better then any other retailer, so no, we don't get a special holiday discount, because ours is already the best in the business. Yes I work there.

    Laptops

Since your store is new, I'm not sure how much clearance they might have, but I know the local stores around here have some good clearance deals on laptops which are the same quality, if not better then any BF special. Also, the best laptop deals usually are not during the month of November. You are better off finding a good laptop during December, when they start cutting prices to get those last minute sales.
  4. Last years BF sale that they started on Wedneday Thanksgiving day went smoothly, other then the lateness of the price changes uploading to the website. I don't remember it being slow at all. I got some sweet stuff, like a nice Fuji digital camera and photo printer (they had an awesome deal that if you bought select digital cameras, they were giving photo printers away for very cheap, plus some other goodies at prices that have yet to be beaten this year. Best Buy is really pushing a lot of product to stores, more then ever before during the holiday season, so not only will the BF ad be very nice, but I would expect some amazing unadvertised deals throughout the season as well depending on how early holiday sales go, if they can push through all the product they pushed out. I know the Best Buy I work at has laptops sitting in the warehouse nearly touching the ceiling, they have way more then ever before, and we are loaded in every other department as well. It's hard to predict what will be in the BBY ad till it leaks, because they tend to not send that stuff out to stores till the week before, nobody has a chance to peek in those pallets until then.
  5. I bought a whole lot of stuff off their website at Midnight last year (I believe the BF ad + unadvertised deals went live on Thanksgiving Day if I remember right). I had no problem buying most of the things I wanted, though it did take awhile for the price changes to upload to their website. BB.com did a good job of having all the must have items with a large inventory, it took awhile for anything to actually sell out. Best advice is to have your credit card info saved to your BB.com account ahead of time. That way the only piece of info you need to order is the 3 digit CID number on the back of your card. You don't want to be furiously trying to enter your info when the sale begins.
  6. Best Buy does allow return/exchanges on one bad pixel. You should not have any problem returning it.
  7. Photo frame looks nice, but was hoping for a better price then that from our friends at Wal-Mart. Oh well, I'll keep looking.
  8. Best Buy does not do mail-in rebates to customers, as they simply do not believe they are fair to customers. Best Buy "pays" the mail-in rebate portion for you, and the manufacturer eventually credits the stores back for the purchases made during the sale. That is why they call it instant savings, instead of "on sale". Instead of confusing customers like they used to with having mail in rebates, instant rebates, and sale prices all mixed into one ad circular, now everything is simply an instant saving, regardless of how the advertised deal may be setup with Best Buy and the suppliers. Some instant savings will say "before instant savings", typically because those are the ones that are truly rebates of some kind from the manufacturer, and I believe they are not legally able to advertise the instant savings without having the "before savings" price.
  9. Probably wanting to compare this years ad to last, without scrolling through a long list.
  10. I think everyone on this message board wants a brand name TV, or a laptop at an insanely cheap price, which is why they are disappointed. A few of the deals in the ad were actually pretty good.
  11. I appreciate JR for posting this ,but I see no HD DVD movies, so I'm definitely not interested in this sale. Shame, I'd love to patronize them for posting their ad early!
  12. Looks like the fanboys who have been banned from Avsforum are making their way to this website now.
  13. F.Y.E. so far is the only one, they got a few good ones to choose from for $16.99. Thankfully I have one of these stores where I live.
  14. FYE is still the only ad I've seen with HD DVD movies on sale. I'm definitely gonna hit this place after I make my first stops at Sears and Best Buy.
  15. Yeah, it'll be off their regular prices, not MSRP. I've taken advantage of this sale every time they have offered it.
  16. HBO DvD's for sure, the Dynex 9" Digital Picture Frame I will probably grab as well. The Samsung or Envision 22" monitors I'll be getting, not sure which one though I'm most interested in.
  17. Guess I'll be getting a new monitor from Best Buy this year, good deal on them.
  18. Sears so far is the only place worth going for me, I like their deal for the Sharp 19" HDTV LCD/DVD Combo TV. Also ,they have a couple other things I might pickup. Definitely not interested in any other ads I have seen so far this season ,but as usual, I'm patiently waiting for Best Buy and Wal-Mart to spill their beans.
  19. The TV's in the ad are pretty lame, the Trutech 19" has poor specs, and I'd rather pay the extra $100 and get the far better Sharp 19" that is in the Sears ad. Olevia TV's are usually decent, but not something I would ever go for. Only deals I liked in this ad were the DVD's for cheap. Rest of ad had nothing I was interested in. Target is already crossed off my list, as I'm sure Best Buy will have similar movie deals, or better.
  20. If true, it would be amazing, but I believe it is fake, BOGO on those games just doesn't look believable at all. The prices on the games would be huge losses for Best Buy, as there is barely any margin on games. Don't think those will happen. Also, I seriously doubt they would discount the 360 Pro System, it's selling far too well to need any kind of discount right now. Only deal I saw that looked halfway reasonable was the HDD drive being discounted.
  21. This is the year to buy if you want GPS or a digital photo frame! Officemax ad was pretty weak, unless you were desperate for a printer, or looking for the usual assortment of gps and photo frames. I was hoping for some decent lcd monitor deals, but all they had listed was that 24", which is not what I'm looking for. Well, we shall see what Staples and Best Buy have up their sleeves.
  22. I'd love to see a Kodak 8" hit about 79 dollars, but my bet they will go with a lame Westinghouse branded frame. If it's Kodak any size, I might go after it, as I really love the lcd screen quality in comparison to other brands. Insignia photo frames are nice too, but usually Best Buy house brand usually take a backseat to other names during the holiday season.
  23. Sale on the Acer starts tomorrow at 8am.
  24. Sounds the same as every other year. The warehouse always gets the black wrapped pallets, but once someone peeks inside all of them, the word will be leaked faster then you can imagine. Managers won't know what's on the ad till a couple more weeks, when they will receive a printout of items that have to be held back. I worked for Wal-mart for years, and they are definitely not doing anything differently this year, then in years past, besides having weekly sales during November.
