I am currently using my free trial for Amazon Prime. I just ordered something that may ship after Christmas, and possibly after the free trial expires. What happens with the shipping cost then? I'd prefer the two day ship, but I signed up for standard shipping not knowing if they would charge me for the two day ship if I am no longer on Prime. Thanks!

Today it was myself with one of my daughters. My son probably would have gone, but he ended up sick. Usually hubby goes by himself, with occasionally a teen kid. I don't do the early morning stuff. I will do the online stuff.

Our church distributes food boxes to families in the community who would benefit from the fixings for a Christmas meal. We will provide for two boxes this year. We have done Angel Tree gifts and other things in the past; not sure about this year. Will see what needs and opportunities make themselves known to me.

One year I put mint extract in my son's stocking because he loves mint and likes to cook. More expensive dark chocolate that I would not usually buy for my son. Tea for my kids that like tea. Just the kids get stockings; I would have to fill my own if I had one.

New headphones for older kids, if they are into that. We got my 11yo a MP3 player for her birthday. I like the camera idea. And whatever hoodies or shoes they would be into. One year I got a thinkgeek t-shirt or 2 for my teen son.

Our neighbor usually has a garage sale the day before Mother's Day, and she sells a lot of plants and home canned items. A couple of times my kids have gotten me a jar of her dill pickles, so yummy. I think pickles make a great gift! One year my then 3 or 4 yo daughter wanted a magic wand that really worked. Me too honey. Me too.

When my oldest moved out I quit sending family pics out at Christmas for a few years. This past year I did send out pictures including the kiddos still at home. With us it is generally a picture that I include with the Christmas card. I like the collage idea for a card.

I think wrapping now would be fine minus bows/ribbons; like PogiPorkchop said. If I started wrapping now I would put a sticky note saying what the item inside was (in addition to the to/from tag) because my memory is just that bad. I could probably remember most of it, but I would forget something and it would drive me nuts.

If you are on Facebook there are probably local buy/sell groups where you could find baby items for sale for good prices.

I agree with taking the littles to the miniature golf place or wherever; make a fun day out for them! As the parent of a daughter in college, I think the food is a great idea; I know my daughter would sure think so!

When my son was about 13 he went Black Friday shopping with my husband. Myself and our other two daughters joined them later in the morning. My son excitedly started describing the hoodies and the awesome fuzzy blanket that they picked up to my 16yo daughter and the rest of us. Unfortunately those items were gifts for the 16yo! Forgot to give him the memo, oops.

I do not know which version of Brave that my husband picked up, but he said it rang up at the sale price. I got the impression that there was a display of the DVD. My husband went to WalMart this evening and was looking for Brave. He did not find it with the rest of the DVDs. When he was checking out he spotted them in a separate area that was roped off. It was in one of those spaces that some WalMarts have in the very front of their stores along with the vision center, etc. He checked out, grabbed an ad, took his stuff to the car and came back in to buy Brave at the sale price.

My son went with my husband two years ago when he was 13. Hubby does the Black Friday shopping while I stay home with kiddos. The only bad thing about him taking my son was that when the rest of us met up with them my son kept telling his big sister about all the cool things they bought that morning. Unfortunately some of those cool things were her Christmas presents. Last year my then 14 and 17 year olds went with my husband. This year he probably works Black Friday so he will tell work that he will be in late and hit some stores before he goes in. That is actually how we started Black Friday shopping. My husband often had to work that day and the stores are in the town where he works so he would just leave early to shop before he went to work.

If you search online you can always find codes to get free extra minutes that bring the cost per minute down with tracfone.

I don't know of a time limit on activation. On the Tracfone website you can get a refurbished LG 500G for $19.99 and it comes with a 60 minute card which is a $20 value. So basically a free phone. I got a similar/same phone as Spice9195 at Dollar General last winter for $5. My daughter gets her service through pagepluswireless.com and she can get a year of service and 1000 minutes for $80. If you don't want to buy one of their phones you have to do some research to make sure you get the right phone.
