Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2008
cokemeyer replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
silly question, but why do some people's scanners come up "INF" and some "NIF?" Mine comes up "NIF" which I always thought meant "Not In File" but now I am wondering if that is not right since other stores have INF. Maybe our store just flipped the letters by mistake and never fixed it! Like I said, silly question, but just curious! :) (I work in software development and "Not In File" or NIF is the standard shorthand for when something is not found on a file read - maybe this is a regional thing, lol!) -

yes, me too - these are the same ones I got 30-40 of to send down to Haiti. The one lady on the markdown team gave me such dirty looks I assumed she wanted them for herself. I did leave a few . I am excited they are short-sleeved - I think the girl styles have been reduced for 30-50% quite some time even though the weather here has just started to get warm - maybe they were intended to be "undershirts" though they are too cute for that. The boys' short sleeved shirts going 75% right now is harder to fathom - they totally look like summer T-shirts... If you are interested in finding these, here is what to look for: boys - red and blue short-sleeved t-shirts with different animal/sports designs on them, gray with blue and red stripes at the top, all Circo brand I think... girls - snap and non-snap style in these patterns - pastel rainbow, light green with cherries, pastel green stripe, pastel pink stripe, cornflower blue, polka dots + more, all Circo brand... -

thanks, yes, and the woman who checked me out and forgot to give me the bag was actually there with it right behind cust service when I returned. I think she is a manager! She was sorry for it since she saw I was struggling with 3 hungry kids. :) This has happened to me twice now! -

I happened upon the markdown team in the infant/toddler clearance rack area today and asked them if things were being marked further. They were not helpful or friendly so I just said I'd be back later. Well I returned in about 20 miniutes and they were still there but had moved on to other racks and did not seem happy to see me at all. I scored about 40 children's shirts for .98 each - just marked down to 75% off. I think they were all Circo brand - sports themes for boys and rainbows and stripes mostly for girls. Disney Princess t-shirts were $1.48. I am keeping a few shirts for my daughter and the rest are going to a mission group in Haiti. Then I also found sone 75% off Princess Bear room decorations like knobs, hooks, and the like. Regular plain hooks and things like that were also 75% off. In the bigger girl section, I also got some St. Patrick's day shirts for $1.25. I guess they never went to 90% but they aren't all that St. Patty's Day looking so they'll be fine. Some regular big boy clothes like polo style were also 75% off so I grabbed a few of those too. This is not clearance but they have a promotional box of greeting cards out now - several varieties and it is $9.99 for 20 cards. I got the general birthday one and it is a wonderful selection for both kids and adults - really cute textured cards with cute designs... It was a fun trip but the cashier totally forgot to give me one giant bag I had paid for and I got all the way home before I realized it -arghh! -

good question, I'm not certain because I've never gotten it, but I think that one is $2 too. I asked about the popcorn combo price one day because it used to be $1.00 a while back and she told me we were some sort of "test area" for it being $2. ha ha - lucky us! :) -

Sadly the one lady at our Target cafe is so unable to understand the cash register that she can barely get through my usual transaction of one apple juice box and one small icee. I don't want to disrespect her but often I wait so long that I want to throw myself bodily over the counter and just ring it thru myself! We don't have Pizza Hut food either, just the Archer Farms stuff and then a Starbucks next to it. And our popcorn/drink combo is STILL $2! -

re: the stickers sometimes showing the wrong original price and thus the wrong % off amt too - I have seen this happen more than once and occasionally if something really is wrong in the system, it can result in you getting MORE than 75% off in the end. But with the Shrek figures, I am pretty sure they were $5 originally because I bought some for the stockings back at Christmas, full price. -

yes, the Shrek figurines have been $1.24 which is 75% off at my store for over a week or two now. They still had plenty left on Sunday. Wish we had a Shrek party coming up - they'd be great for favors! The Shrek small plush animals were still marked 50% off but I didn't scan them to see if they went down further - meant to but got distracted! -

I've been reading all these posts about destruction of good merchandise with interest, and I say to all of you dedicated PP'ers, here is just another good excuse to SHOP ON! :) If your budget allows, buy extras of things you see on sale, and then choose a worthy charity of your own to donate them to. Even things that may seem odd or random can be used for groups as door prizes at fundraisers, etc. My aunt has been working tirelessly to find good deals on clothing to send to Haiti and the missionaries who receive them are tremendously grateful. No one is questioning or destroying any of that merchandise, that is for sure! -

Our Dollar Spot did go 90% - well, just one shelf of it, but I have no idea what was on that shelf because it was wiped clean by the time I saw it Sunday - all that was left was the 90% off sign! -
Children's Wicker Table & Chairs $28.99 plus S/H

A lot of time by the time things get to clearance they only have certain pieces. I think the chairs were sold separately and are OOS, but if you do find out otherwise, that would be great! -

adorable! wish the chairs were still available though... -
on the "Payment Information" page, under Promo Codes (lower left side of the page). They allow you to enter 2 different codes... I should add that the codes starting with MVC (which just about all the free shipping codes are) require you to be using a Kohls charge card. There is a 10% off code for non Kohls charge card holder though, posted by the OP..

I keep forgetting to answer the question about how the Photokinz work - my DH installed several pictures on each of my 3 kids' photokinz so far and he had no problems whatsoever! He said the software actually is contained right within the toy so really it is plug n play. We don't have Windows Vista and I hear you may have minor issues with that, but overall it was a great purchase. The kids, even the baby, love looking at pics of their family on their lovies. :) -

I need to stay off of here so I don't know about so much clearance that I am compelled to buy, lol! I went back today with DS5 and we got a few more of the 25 cent dollar spot stuff, plus about $15 worth of Easter 90% off stuff. We got lots of little sheep shaped eggs filled with Hersheys kisses and malted ball boxes for 9 cents each, and then a bunch of plastic baskets for my family's adult/kid egg hunt next year as well as a bunch of egg decorating kits and several big bags of lemon and orange kisses. I also found about 6 of the green striped "Easter" infant clothing and was thrilled you all told me what to look for. You can't beat a cute onesie for $.29! :) My favorite find was about 7 of the "Easter" frames - many of which were just plain pastel colors. They all were scuffed up a bit which is probably why they were still there, but I have found Magic Eraser works great for that and now they look perfect. There was still plenty of stuff when we finally left (especially eggs and those cloth baskets), but I did hear some employee conversations going on and it sure sounded as if they were getting ready to box it all up. -

ok, I spent almost an HOUR in dollar spot today (75% off) and ended up with 60 dollars worth of stuff, which means at 25 cents each that's 240 items!!! My poor kids were so patient with me for all this but I felt bad that I got so obsessed with the deals! :) I even had a nice old lady helping me find stuff - I didn't ask her, she just wanted to for fun. They had all sorts of blue dot stuff and I got about 16 of everything for future party favors. I got little girl purses, gloves, socks, kites, wooden tic tac toe sets, ladybug and butterfly puzzles, ring toss sets, paddle balls, wooden memory games, wooden block sets, Easter cards, baseball playing cards, and cello bags. I probably would have gotten more if I had been alone. I just dawned on me that ONCE AGAIN, even though I remembered to put it in my purse, I forgot to use the darn $5 coupon! I give up on my memory! :) the BEST deal of all, if you ask me was the 4 pack of AA batteries, which were blue dot and also rang up at 25 cents! I grabbed 20 packs (they had a ton) and probably should have gotten more - we go through batteries around here like water! The green sports-themed $2.50 stuff was 75% off too so I got a nice hand towel with sports balls on it for 62 cents. In the regular Easter section I also got picture frames, a cute Disney Princess dress up "basket" which had a costume and jewelry, hair ribbon in it, as well as some Batman egg containers. In the regular toy section I found the last of the hidden Enchanted nursery dolls. It was a FUN trip, but now - where to store it all?? :) :)
