  1. I'm sad I haven't seen teh $30 deal here. I hope I didn't overlook anything. We did get some coupons for $10 off a $100 purchase. $10 alone doesn't help much, though. Hmm. Guess I'd better look around and watch teh mail. Thanks for explaining.
  2. Hey, I'm wondering whre you are getting the $90 worth of giftcards and the $30 off $250 purchase. Are these giftcards you already have or is there a special out there for BF? We are military retired/DOD employed in OK and saw the computer for sale but not the other deals you mention. Thanks for the info. Oh and taxfree is great! KAthy
  3. We use ATT go phone for both our phones. It works out best for us becasue we pretty much only talk to other Cingular/ATT customers. You do pay $1 each day you use teh phone but M2M is free after that. I don't use my phone more than 25 days a month so I usually pay about $25 a month. They also have a loyalty refill plan. Evey $100 you get $5 extra back and you had $5 each additional $100 after that up to a certain amt. So, this last time I got an extra $10, I will get an extra $15 with the next $100. Also with a $100 purchase you get a year to use your minutes so if you don't talk alot, you don't have to worry about losing your mins if you don't renew it often. Currently, I have mine set to auto refil $25/month , so every 4 months I get extra mins added with the loyalty plan. My husband also has a go phone but he often only uses $25 every 2-3 months. So..it works for us. It is also a wonderful deal for someone who only uses for emergenices like my parents. It gets much better reception than my Mom's tracphone and in many more places. I have had very few places from CA to OK and down to MS , LA and TX that it doesn't pick up well. Tracphone can't say the same. I also like not having a contract. You also have acess to your refill history and basic call history online. The phone selection is slim but you don't need a "Go Phone" to use it. Any Cingualr/ATT phone will work as a go phone.
  4. Thanks for the advice about the S5 and Rebel. I want the Rebel but am not sure I can get it this year. Trying to decide now whether to wait another year on a new camera or try to to find the S5 or S3 at a lesser price. KAthy
  5. I'm looking for a camera that does a few specific things. I have been looking at this one and the Canon Rebel and would even consider other cameras if I knew which one to get. I don't want to buy the wrong one. I have wasted enough money on cameras in teh last few years. I need to be able to take sports shots outdoors for soccer and baseball without chaseing my kids around and getting on the field. lol I also want to be able to take a series of shots ( 2-3) quickly. The other important thing is that I need to be able to take decent photos indoors with poor lighting, ie in a gym for awards programs or basketball games. I don't do alot of fancy stuff with my pictures other than red-eye reduction for my blue-eyed kids and cropping. I also don't make posters so I don't need tons of megapixels. Anyone have any thoghts? I'd sure appreciate it. I did see the package deal at BB but wonder if that is too much camera. KAthy
  6. I finally found an add with things in at that I want but it is CC. What are the chances of getting one of the $299 laptops there? I live in OK City and I have kids under 11 at home so camping out all night is out. Any suggestions? I could spend a ton of cash at CC this yer but the way the deals are set up it will be hard to buy somewhere else and price match. KAthy
  7. At our house it's also Hannah Montana, Cheetah Girls and High School Musical. We treid to get Hannah tickets but they were sold out in 2 mins mostly to scalpers. Kind sad at my house. I hope to find some of the HSM and HM cds marked down becasue my kids also want a Wii or Ds's which require games. lol
  8. We only have a budget for the kids of about $500-$600 all total and we don't usually find everything on BF. This year we are looking for more electronics type gifts so may spend more this year. I'm also hoping for a lap top for me. So we may end up spenidng the $600 that day...just not all for them. We also like to look at things we NEED that go on sale that time of year like small kitchen apppliances, etc.
  9. Lots of people skip BF. I know you couldn't tell it from the lines, but none of my family fight the crowds. I think I only have 1 friend who heads out that day...but she has 6 kids so really needs the deals. We haven't been hardcore BF shoppers but are getting into it more now that the kids are getting older. This year tehy can stay by tehmselves for a few hours and hubby is supposed to be off. So we will try to be organized and get alot done that morning. Last year he worked on base and I dropped the kids off half asleep to shop the BX BF deals and Target nearby, but they had to go everywhere else so hard to buy for them. They are getting older and wanting more expensive things and we are a one income family so this year the BF sales are important. I hope to get some good ideas from those of you who do this every year. We won't be camping overnight anywhere, though.
  10. That is great to know. I don't know if my kids want anything from Academy this year but hubby might. He's so hard to surprise.
  11. Thanks for the ideas. Our Target has several Wii's right now, just wasn't sure if I should buy now or if there was a way to get a better deal. I need to see if the base has them, I guess. At least thre would be no tax that way. Would be great if they had it and I could layaway it. Guess I need to check it out this weekend. I didn't know that about Sears. That is good info. How much does Kmart charge to do a layway? I really miss Kmart. THanks.
  12. Hi, I'm new to the forum. I'm trying to figure out how to get what the kids want for Christmas this year without going under. I wanted to use layaway because we are trying to improve our credit scores to buy a home and don't want our balances to jump. I didn't realize Wal-MArt had done away with layaways and hardley anyone has it anymore. Would have been great for this year. We are primarily looking to purchase 2 nintendo DS lites and games and a Wii with at least 1 additonal game and controller. These are the big items that I need to get on sale or need to spread out. Does anyone think either of these items may come down for BF? I hate to wait to buy them and then find out they aren't discounted or they aren't available. We do have a Kmart about 45 mins from here. I might could put one on layaway there if they carry them. Oh, and we have BX priveleges as my husband is retired AF. I'm not sure if they carry the Wii or DS or for how long something can be on layaway. Maybe they would price match BF sales if the Wii comes down. Not sure where to start. Have never admatched but am willing to try it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
