Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2008
vsa3janes replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Sorry so long...I just came back from the Vogel Rd Target and I'm so mad!!! A lady was returning the Barbie golf set for young girls. The real golf clubs with bag & accessories. It was returned for $8.xx. I check out the dollar spot then noticed the box in a cart outside the cust svc area. I put it in my cart while I shopped. Scanned it and it came up not on file. Asked a clerk by the sheets if she could scan it with her price gun. She said it came up NOF also. There was a backroom tag and she said it scanned for full price. I explained I knew they had been on clearance so she suggested going to cust svc. I thought okay they just returned it so they will know the real price. There was a new young guy at cust svc I explained to him what was going on. He scanned the backroom tag and said $26.xx. The full price. I asked him if we could call a manager. He call the head cashier. I have heard her deal with people before and she never, never gives anyone a break. So she said no full price only. I asked for a manager, she called someone on the radio, I told her I would even pay 50% off if I could have them. She rolled her eyes! She talked to the mgr and turned to me and said no, full price. I asked her if I could speak to the mgr in person, she told me no, the best I could do was pay full price. When I ask her how could it be returned for 90% off and then tell me the price was $26.xx. She said "I don't know how it works but it is full price!" I just shooked my head and walked away before I said something I'd regret. They also had a Connect game that I got on clearance for $2.74 marked $10, she said it was $10 because they raise prices after most things are gone on clearance. ??????? Thank you for letting me vent. If anyone the St.Louis area sees the Barbie golf clubs under $26 please let me know. My DGD has started golfing with my SIL and would love these. Thanks! -

The hockey table # worked but the game table isn't working. Does anyone have the number for the game table with the changable tops? I saw it last night at So Co StL store but it was still marked $69xx. Too large to scan, hope I didn't miss it cheaper. Want to get for SIL bday. -

Found a wear it 4 way coat today for DGD. It has a jacket liner that comes out so it will be great for cool spring days and with the liner in it is a great winter coat. Reg $40 clearance $11 Will be a great spare for playing in the snow. Also picked up a couple pair of nylon shorts, the type with the stripes down the side, will be great for this summer. $1.74 a pair. -
For $1.49 if it last for my frequent in and out/few item trips that will save a few 100 plastic bags.

Thought about them for DD but they will never use them - handwash only. -
Saw these today, 3 sizes, one folds into a zipper carrying case, another is a small tote with handles, the one I bought is a large approx 14 1/2" x 16 1/2" tote with carrying handles, a hard bottom and it stands up beautifully. The large one folds up with handles tucked in and snaps shut so it is about 6x6. They are made out of 100% polypropylene, red with a design of a couple trees made of the Target logo in white and a little bird on top of the tree. The large one was only $1.49. At the Vogel store there was one display at the front end of the registers. The cashier told me some stores have them by the dollar display. As much as GDers shop at Target just think of the plastic we could save from landfills if we all used these. When you see them I hope you are all as excited by these as I was.

The younger ones in our family have bdays the end of the year too. But I am always afraid to buy items now because I don't know what they will be "into" then. It was okay when they were tots but now that they are tweens it is almost impossible to buy ahead. Do you ever find yourself with items you thought they would like and then need to buy something else? I did this a couple years ago and gave the toys to Toys for Tots. So now I wait until the end of summer before I start looking for deals. -
