If you think that is funny, just think about the volume of deer corn sold at Walmart. I was told that they do not make money on the sale of deer corn, yet stock it as a service to the hunters. Back in the old days of the smaller Walmarts you would enter the store and see deer corn, hunting gear and camouflage lingerie in that order.

Anytime someone mentions graphic design, I envision a laptop with an Intel i7 processor and a dedicated graphics card, since the verbiage "simple graphic design" may not be good enough to run a program once you buy it. Be sure to check the specs on the product packaging before buying any laptop. Do you have a program in mind? Since you were looking at a $600 laptop, the i7 on page nine of the one day sale will have the same price and looks to have a dedicated card as well.

Generally, all of November leading up to Black Friday is the proverbial Duck Season of purchasing. Check return policies as well.

In other words, ladies seem to want a TV that works and has lifetime, hallmark and a remote that is easy to use without getting closed captioning showing up if you hit the wrong button.

I believe that most people would agree that taking your child to Walmart without a ticketing system is an invitation to trouble. Walmart still maintains a pallet mentality and door rushing is still common in many places. I still remember the Razor scooter Fiasco in which two children were nearly crushed in Walmart years ago and I would never put a child in that position. I worked for a company that once issued bad checks and they had to end up paying all of our fees or lose their contract. I am grateful that it was never around the holidays, but they had been late with payroll quite a few times, which led to my first wife divorcing me. It really ended up being a funny story and leading to a second marriage four months later. I couldn't be happier and this wife enjoys Black Friday.

Anytime you plan for an event, the weather is always a factor. We cannot control it, but we can now get a fair assessment of what we are up against when we venture out into that craziest of events, Black Friday. What will your experience be like? Will it rain, snow, or generally be cold? What gets you in the mood to shop. Down here in North Florida, we like the weather to be as frightful as possible to get in the mood to Christmas shop meaning that it needs to be cold and rainy. Black Friday shopping is a whole other matter. I remember the old days before camping. I would pick a location that would afford me some shelter against the cold and rain because we would be lining up instead of going inside a well conditioned mall or store. For Black Friday shopping to work in either the short or long term, you have to prepare to be out in the elements for an extended period of time. In recent years, advances in online shopping have taken some of us out of that zone, but in order to get those few doorbusters, the game is still basically the same. I like to use the National weather service for the overall top down look at the nation as a whole. You can get up to a three month forecast (guess) to see how you will generally fare during the time you will spend outside shopping. Some people enjoy lighting the fireplace or turning on the heater while online shopping. Line shoppers or campers may use this for cold weather planning. Either way, forecasts can be of use to all. Accuweather is the type of site where they really commit to an actual day, week, or month and let you know the anticipated temperature and precipitation. I know that certain factors can shift the rain either ahead or lag behind this forecast, so be sure to check back every so often. There are footprints all over the web, but mostly "click a page at a time" types. I find it very frustrating to peruse them unless I am ready to shop right then and there. Did we get a spooky letter? I love those!

That was also my sentiment. We see in store cash as a way to leverage your buying power. Those shoppers on the outside of the deal see this as a marketing ploy and are already panning it on other sites.

I am a traditionalist. I enjoy going out and getting into the fray. Even as an older adult, it does not intimidate me. Shopping online as a means of maximizing on deals if fine, but if you are not going out then why is it different from any other sale day of the year? I believe that everyone should at least check out one store to help them out. Brick and mortar stores are hurting and spending most if not all of your time online shopping just adds to the decline of commerce as we know it. This is a once in a year event. Enjoy the pandemonium.

The Kohl's ad is out, and there is a Samsung 55" for $499. From all appearances, the UN55KU6290 is a 4K Smart 2016 model, has 120 motion rate, and HDR with local dimming. There are competing models out there that are cheaper right now, like the TCL brand with HDR for $450. Keep in mind that TCL sells a Dolbyvision model as well, and this is not it! For the uninformed if you hear HDR, it generally means the open-source HDR10 standard. This is not a bad thing at all because most of the HDR content is from HDR10. The Xbox One will only pass HDR10, so do not buy one thinking you can watch Dolbyvision 4K movies as it will display them in HDR10 only. This is still a great thing! I own both formats, so feel free to ask me if you need help. While I am not crazy happy on the price of the Samsung, you are getting a brand name, HDR and $150 Kohl's cash back. I would buy a 4K player like the one pictured since it should bring affordability into the living room this year and $30 back to boot.
