That is the point exactly. Prices are so dramatically low on television sets that they can't carve out a dramatic savings event out of the carcass. I still remember all of the angst against rebates as many considered them the equivalent of the Catfish Admiral saying, "It's a Trap!" Obviously after the trap had been set. It would have been nice to see how much better the secret sales made Black Friday in those years. Sadly, by 2010, there was only one or two secrets to be had. We clearly have a fondness for deals that seemed so great in the past, but then again we are product saturated and expect the prices to edge closer to zero. True, I was going to take a picture of that sad building yesterday. Back in 2007, many considered Circuit City to be the competitor of Best Buy. So much so that Best Buy even built stores to compete with them during that time frame. I had argued back then that Walmart was the real competitor. If we turn back the clock 10 years you will see that Walmart and Best Buy competed with each other and had Secret sales while Circuit City was left behind with mail-in rebates which turned off many customers. Definitely! There are some TCL 4k models which have garnered a lot of fans this year. Look for a similar model with a Roku built in. The cheaper one will not have Dolbyvision,(may of may not have HDR) but for bedroom viewing it is not a deal-breaker for most. Last year, Best Buy sold a Westinghouse 4k baseline TV for around $300, but Rokus are cheap!
