Most of the newer receivers will give you 4K and HDR pass-through so it will depend upon your budget. If you have a 4K TV go with the $99 4K player otherwise there are some really good choices on regular Blu-ray players this year. If you really want the best of both worlds get an Xbox One S. Heads up! I went to a Big Lots today and purchased a large number of Blurays for the Black Friday price. I had never seen so many in a store before. the usual shelf was full of movies which is four-sided, but they had two additional kiosks set up with movies as well. Very impressive. You need to be careful as the price stickers are not consistent and the difference is from the Black Friday price to $5.

I remember that East coasters usually have to wait! That is why there could be two hours dedicated to it. Just a thought. Also, Brad did bring up a good point. We could chat instead of have the camera on. I was using the flip function the other day and I liked how it works so well when looking at the ads though.

Even when I shop online early, I pickup in store when I am camped out. It helps to pass the time when I can watch movies every night as I sip some hot cocoa by the warmth of my heater and continue my activities on Gottadeal.

Another annoyance of mine are the Black Friday sites that get all of the credit yet do not exist 11 months out of the year.

Since she is an active teenager you could look at the many personal tech items in the Best Buy ad. Wearables, smart devices, bluetooth speakers etc. Anything that she could use on the go.

That is understood but is a generalization the situation that many homeowners face today. I can't tell you how many will not change their set up because of an entertainment center that is in the way. Believe it or not I have a television in the dinette area of the kitchen and I cannot go any larger than a 40 inch TV. Wouldn't you know it my predicament is a 50-inch that is cheaper and better will not fit there. Keep enlightening people that's what you do best! Most people do not structure their living room or bedroom for that matter for proper 4K viewing anyway. The percentages for proper 4K viewing are extremely low at this point but as long as they are providing a 4K television set with smart features it is still a win for most people. Everyone has a bad experience with Walmart. And good experiences as well. There are so many of them to choose from. We have one that is so bad, a woman was beaten up after being allowed to purchase more than one laptop back in the days when they were all the rage. I believe she paid for at least three of them and rudely back-talked and mocked the streetwise people who were waiting their turn to purchase one and had realized that she was getting more than one(she was only supposed to get one). They followed her out to her car and left her on the ground with her selfishly purchased laptops trampled by the mob. It was reported only once on the news and then silenced forever...

I have gravitated to televisions instead of monitors eve since the LED revolution eventually led to lower prices on larger screens. You can do so much more with an insanely large TV as your computer screen/entertainment hub. I use a 50" LG 4k. My wife uses the 49" Toshiba 4k.

That is a good question! I do not think that prepaid phones are all the rage, but i could be mistaken if the phone is at the right price-point. If she needs a phone that bad, see if they offer it at another store like Best Buy where you can go online and get it days ahead of the sale, depending upon your status.

Walmart has unwittingly exempted themselves from relevance in the brick and mortar sector while mitigating stampedes at the same time, thank you! The only thing I shop for at Walmart is the Movies and TV shows anyway and it looks like they will be receiving about $100 less from me this year. This is actually a good thing! What they do not realize is that America is moving away from physical discs and adopting a cheaper digital platform via VUDU, Google Play, Amazon, iTunes, etc. Smaller portions because they expect you to buy a rice cooker for volume.

There are always some interesting items although the selection seems to be limited this year.

That is a premium feature. I like the TCLP605/7 (I merged two models, 605 is Best Buy) 55" with both Dolby vision and HDR10. Sadly, I have not seen it featured but then again it could be a lightning deal or Newegg sale item. I just need to dive deeper into this. $600 is the lowest so far according to Camel Camel Camel. The 55S405 has HDR10 only and is not as feature packed, but is commonly sold for $400. Another TV to look out for is a 55" VIZIO that has XLED plus. M series only, as the E series is a serious downgrade in quality that is immediately apparent when doing side by side comparisons.

Not a chance! those are for us crazy campers!

No experience but i wonder if cats would be afraid of it after seeing the thing in action. For me, pet doors are a better long term solution.
