Traditionally, September brings a flurry of deal predictions. Websites will be looking into their crystal balls or pouring over data from previous years to bring us their best guesses of the upcoming holiday shopping season. I have already seen signs that the major players are ready to carve more "meat off of the bone' than ever before. Can you name a few instances in 2018 where you sat back and said, "Wow! that is the lowest price" or "can they possibly do any better than that?" On the electronics side of the deal, TCL has been very aggressive this year and has allowed retailers to sell their expanded product line at deal worthy prices. Did you catch the Best Buy deal on a 55 inch 4k with Roku, HDR and Dolby vision for $360? I had jumped at the chance to purchase an entry level Dolby vision TV at $429 and then just like that, I was calling for a price adjustment! Did you catch the Firestick and Fire TV deals this year? The Firestick went for $20 and a Fire TV went for a mere $35. On many trips through Walmart this year, I saw the TV deals heaped at us in front of the electronics section. HDR is now commonplace on the D series VIZIO! Have you seen the 65 inch 4k deals for $598? It didn't seem to matter which maker since they were throwing them up like spaghetti against the wall. Sure, they play the game of price tag, but the deals were plentiful. How about a $498 65" Hisense 4k with HDR right now? Crazy, huh? What deals have you found that made you shake your head? It doesn't have to be tech related. Toys? Games? Movies? appliances? Give us your best deals that could possibly be beaten this Black Friday.

I believe that the online component has advanced to the point that there should be no argument about Thursday sales interfering with the holiday.

Okay folks, it is September! Time to get this party started. I understand some of us are suffering from product saturation but it only takes that ONE ad to start the Black Friday frenzy!

I believe that all of the Kmarts are gone from my area. I remember getting some good deals on some soundbars before they closed.

I was so glad to get shipping confirmation before heading into the store! It looks like Best Buy wasn't the only store affected by slow web throughput! This is why I do both. I am not at the mercy of either if I am positioned better to react to an unfortunate situation. I know not everyone can do this, but it gives me a sense of security to do so. Over 3 hours in the wee hours of the morning to stress over six items is not going to make me confident of online Black Friday shopping. We took a giant leap backwards this year. Walmart was worse. I have reports from friends of cancellations and $$$ of dollars in credit card charges are being held up. They have to go to the store to get the item.

That is because most of it will still be there an hour later, lol.

I went for one movie, the live version of Beauty and the Beast. By the time i got there, it was all sold out of course. My plan B went into effect. What most shoppers do not know is that with many of the movies, the same SKU is left on the packaging and the BF price is the same. I went to the electronics department and there were a few left in the anti-theft packaging. $9.99 out the door for the Bluray DVD combo. Ours was packed, since it is the only game in town and people will not travel farther than they have to.

Tons of stuff left over. 39 inch Element TVs. What a joke on the public.

Even said HDR on the side of the box. It proves my point that Best buy was hiding features on order to sell upper end televisions. This is happening across all brands. This may be at the request of the manufacturers, so I will just leave it at that and say to ALWAYS check the manufacturer's website and to check real reviews (not paid incentive ones) or other well known sites where people report actual experiences and specifications.
