Anyone in the SG Valley looking for a Leapster 2 system, they still have about 6 or 7 of them at $19.98 at the Target on Madre & Colorado in Pasadena. -

Oh, bummer! Diamond Bar is almost always behind things because they don't have enough people working markdown team. You might check back tomorrow or next week if you don't find one closer to home. -

My first store of the morning still had 40 Leapsters and they were 75%. I got several, and with the Leapster coupons (I had my mom print me some), the $10 off $50 home purchase coupon and my 10% shopping day I got them for about $11 each!! -

Yeah, got my eye on a few of those wines. They tend to put some really good wines on clearance. This is often because they are either an unfamiliar grape varietal or foreign, or just expensive to begin with. I buy them at 30% or 50% to try a bottle, then decide if I want more at 75% (then I often stash them). Sometimes I try at 30 and buy at 50 if it is good enough. It can be a real deal. I have learned to try them, though, because I also have gotten a couple of real dogs! Oooh, yuk! I put them on top of the trash. Maybe one of the people digging through my bins took it home and drank it. I just know it disappeared before the trash truck came.... -

Yeah, I'd be surprised if the vigilance lasts at those stores that are starting to watch. -

Our stores don't do toys till Thursday, but I am hopeful. I am loaded with coupons courtesy of my friends & family who printed them out. I got more than I expected. We'll see! -

yeah, they stayed 50% here too. the markdown team was surprised as well. I think it might be because they brought them all out at 50%. They had none in most of our stores for weeks, then suddenly showed up with tons. Makes me wonder if they had a manufacturing glitch that had them delivered quite late. Nope, it starts in July and hits 75% during the first or second week of August. -

yeah, wouldn't count on finding them there again anytime soon.... I forgot to mention that I found several children's books 75% off: Bolt, Tinkerbell, Junie B Jones Valentine. I bought the bunch to give to our elementary school. -

Just an FYI, they don't generally donate even to Goodwill or Salvation Army. Those groups buy it as salvage, just like Big Lots & other liquidators. This according to someone I know at Goodwill. -

Not sure where you see them $3.99/tile. The prices are all over the map, but most are $10-$15 per tile. The Pooh set is clearance, so that isn't such a surprise that it is cheaper. -

It is usually marked with Baby stuff here, but it does not usually go down on the 2 week schedule. They always seem to drag it out more around here. -

Yeah, I always tell them the price, but I have 1 store in particular where the manager is a horrible stickler and will not give an inch. If they ring up INF or $0, then I am almost always out of luck. Every once in a while I'll get a nice, young cashier who will go along with things, but most of the time they request a price check! It drives me batty since almost all the other stores in the area will just go along with what you tell them. -

I'm in Pasadena, so I generally hit the SG Valley stores: Pasadena, Duarte, Eagle Rock, Alhambra, Glendale. I also get over to Burbank once in a while, and about once every few weeks I get to La Verne, San Dimas & Diamond Bar. If I get to Diamond Bar, I try to come back by way of the 10 and hit West Covina, down to Rosemead. But I usually only really get over to those stores when there is a big clearance sale I want to follow around. -

Just an FYI for those looking for the Leapster 2 deal. If your store has been sold out, be sure to check back. They brought out 50 of them at one of my local stores over night! Other stores I have visited have also been putting them out. -

Yeah, I found some too and got shot down. One particular store always gives me fits. I try my hardest to pick the best cashier, but sometimes it just doesn't work. Most stores will sell them to me, but not this one. Ugh! There are also the pink LPS decorate pets and I have found several Easter packs of Zubber. I bought the main kit and figure we can use the Zubber to make anything, not just the Easter shapes. -

Yup. Last year, I read in a Target employees forum that an employee got fired and arrested because she (allegedly) failed to check the box of a flat screen TV that was returned. It was a box full of bricks. Don't know the whole story as to whether the employee was actually in on it, or not, but that was what Target thought. They had her arrested. They are supposed to open the box and check it if it has clearly been opened, but maybe not if it looks sealed. Last year I was at Walmart in the toy aisle, and I saw these Star Wars 3 pack sets and some 2 pack comic book sets that had been returned with cheap little military action figures in them. They were done quite neatly, but it was obvious someone had taken the figures and just returned the packaging with junk in them. Of course the employees who accepted the returns were clueless. I mentioned it a couple of weeks later to a collector friend. He told me that he had been to Walmart before me and had taken a cart full of these things up to their returns area to show them. Then he found the same thing at TRU. Well, he knew the TRU manager, so he found out that TRU had gotten hit twice and tracked the receipt with the credit card number, and got the guy's name. They kept the security footage of his returns, then set up a sting to catch him at it next time, and he was arrested and prosecuted. He was selling the figures loose on ebay. -

Good luck. I don't think you'll have much success, but I feel for you. I bought one of the large Lego sets on clearance in August for my son for Christmas, only to find out the hard way that someone had taken out about half the bags and replaced them with junk to keep the weight right and returned it. ugh!
