Does anyone have any thoughts about the Nexus 7 (or 10) Google Tablet being on Sale between now and Christmas? I'd really like to have one! My hubby got one the first week or so it was out and I have tablet envy LOL. I know it's $199 but any money saved is good!!

Radio Shack 10/3 -
I shopped the last LE sale and just got some more stuff. I love their clothes - DH does too! On the last sale I got a great little rain coat for me for $30 and I love it! This time for $105 DH has 3 polo shirts and a new sweater, I have two new tops and a pair of mocs coming! So excited I don't think I could do much better at Ross' for that!

Looks like they have changed how the $5 Purina deal works. It comes on your receipt now instead of the coupons inside the containers and it says 1 per transaction? Anyone know how this will work this year if I buy 6 products will I only get one coupon? I hate they make you work so hard to get a deal, it hardly makes it worth it!!

Looking for gift ideas for Mom! Need some help!
Princess7915 replied to jakesmommy403's topic in 2011
You can make all kinds of neat personalized things on Snapfish - or other photo online places. Last year I made a calendar for my grandmother and she loved it. It took me awhile though. You could to a coffee mug or a tote bag or something similar with family photos. -
I think it's sooo gross. But everyone in my family loves it. It makes my stomach clinch to watch them slurp that stuff down by the bucket! It's my little Ha Ha on them because I know how fat loaded that crap is and then they all whine about how much weight they gain over the holidays :) But I would love to find a recipe to make something with it for DH, he may like that and I don't mind cooking goodies for them.

How do you make your lists/budge/amount of giftst?
Princess7915 replied to momof3luvs1's topic in 2011
My budget tends to "flex" every year as I shop too. But I try to stay as on target as I can with each person. If I find some great deals and come up a few dollars under for one, I figure it makes up for the few dollars I went under for someone else. However it does seem there is a lot more over than under LOL. $5 here and there does add up when there is 15 people to buy for :) Sitting down and assigning someone a dollar amount to their name has always been the hardest part of my budget making. It seems pretty consistent from year to year. Every once in awhile we have to re-evaluate, especially as the kids in the family get older because things for them get more expensive. I don't have a set amount of gifts I buy for one person - though I never want to give just one item. But if you get two things for your allotment then so be it - I'm sure they are nice things :) -
Anyone else against any Thanksgiving Day shopping? I have never supported stores that are open on the actual holiday to make a few extra dollars. I was wondering if anyone else avoids shopping - or this year starting BF- actually on Thanksgiving Day. I think it's getting out of hand to make employees give up the few holidays that most retail stores actually get. This year with all the crazy hours of BF I'm thinking I may avoid it for the first time in a very long time The stores are just getting greedier and greedier.

Walmart Black Friday opening time speculation/rumor thread
Princess7915 replied to magst24's topic in 2011
I think that if shoppers don't go to the stores at these crazy hours then the stores will have to change them back. Speak with your wallets! Don't shop at all these Midnight and 10pm openings is you only feel like you "have to" - next year the stores will switch back to more reasonable times if the new hours prove unsuccessful. -
Yeah a Christmas list of some sort is essential for me

Kohl's to open at midnight on Black Friday, will be open all 24 hours
Princess7915 replied to Brad's topic in 2011
My game plan may be Online this year - first year ever. I wonder if all these midnight openings will end up hurting their sales as less people will be in the stores and more will shop online. People buy less when they shop online. -
I don't like these early openings either. Last year my shopping crew all agreed there was nothing any of us wanted that was worth being out at the early hours for. We all de decided 6am was early enough and we didn't miss out on anything we wanted and we didn't stand in lines in the cold :)

Making the big jump to artificial.....any recommendations?
Princess7915 replied to jskarp's topic in 2011
I think it's hard to buy the one's off t.v. - such as the shopping channels. They always look so much better than what they will look like in your house. It's hard to tell. I guess I would say If you are going to go artificial then get a nice one and make the investment - you'll be saving the money of not buying a $70 tree every year in the long run so the upfront money will pay off. So many artificial trees just look bad and are cheap so people have such a bad opinion of them. But you can get nice ones. I second the no-pre lit tree. The do look nice, but if you ever want a different style of lights, or if they break then you are just out the whole tree. -
When is it officially Christmas time in your house?
Princess7915 replied to dwc designs's topic in 2011
It's kind of "officially Christmas" in my house after Thanksgiving. But we don't decorate anymore until mid-December We used to get our tree and pull out all the decorations on Thanksgiving weekend. But the kitties have pushed back the schedule a bit! Hopefully as they get older we will be able to enjoy all the holiday decorations around the house longer - I do love them. But about two weeks is enough for all of us as it stands right now LOL -
While it really may be hard, I'm kind of with your hubby. You'll have BF every other year - save your $ for your trip. You'll be glad when you are there. See if you can find them an autograph book - the little kids like to get all the characters they run into to sign the special autograph books Disney makes.

I like bags for some things because of all the crazy shaped boxed and blister packs some stuff comes in these days! You just run out of right sized boxes to put stuff in so you can wrap it up! Sometimes you just have to go the bagged route!

What city will you be shopping in this year?
Princess7915 replied to jellybean051901's topic in 2011
I have always wanted to BF at the Mall of America! Never been there but what an experience that would be! Has anyone ever done it? It would be a long drive for me though and no way I could fly out there if my goal was to shop! LOL -
Don't you know we NEVER leave :)

Need new set of towels BEFORE in-laws come..
Princess7915 replied to diecastbeatdown's topic in 2011
I picked up some Apt 9 brand at Kohls at one of their big sales with a % off coupon. They have held up will. I personally do not like their Big One Brand for towels but the Sonoma are okay -
We do this too - it's so pretty to have all the nice packages under the tree! We also like to tie things into the centers of the bows. If you got to Michael's or AC Moore then you can get the craft picks for wreaths and things or sometimes we use small inexpensive and simple ornaments with string loops. Good examples are big jingle bells and snowflakes that come in packs of like 6 or so. For the craft picks we get holly and berries or just sparkly "fluffy" looking stuff, or the twiggy branch ones that are glittery. The simple ones look nicer tied in. If you have a Garden Ridge they have good deals on Ribbon and the picks :)

Mom lives in Greenbrier so we do that area. We also usually hit the Lynnhaven area. My aunt has kids and sometimes we have to do TRU at janaf but not always. We also head out to the new complex at Princess Anne because that Kohls is nice and I love Ulta! -
I have gotten some really great paper really cheap at Ollies. You kind of have to check a few times but you get good stuff like from Target, Walmart, even Hallmark brand for half price or better. I have gotten some really nice gift bags there as well for next to nothing - great for "re stocking" and the past 3 years I have gotten my cards there! I got Hallmark brand and American Greetings for like $2 and $3 a box!!

I'm 32 and I still get 'those' presents from my mom at her house! She always had a rule of "If you don't believe you don't receive" So she gave special presents with a certain gift tag and nobody said a word :) But after a certain age and understanding the good and expensive stuff starting coming from Mom and Dad.
