How about baby food jars and decorate the jars? It seems like the Dollar Store has very small little boxes when it gets closer to Christmas.
-
Yes, if I can find a good deal I'll buy it and figure out the details later. :)
-
Yep sure have. :) I'll be shopping in Asheboro, NC
-
Hmmm.. I haven't thought about it that way.

Very funny thread.

I hope there's a good deal on mp3 players. My daughter wants one and that's the reason I'm sending in for the Best Buy Bucks.

Every year I've had someone going out with me. But if something happened and no one else could go, I'd go alone.
-
Did they try to jump up in line with you once they got out of the car? Cause that would have peed me off! If anything, one should have come out and asked you if you wanted to get in the car for awhile while they held the spot.

A few friends thought I was nuts.. that is until this past BF when I talked them into going with me. Now they are ready to go again this year. :)

Organization? (Do you carry ads with you? What about cash and wallets???)

I like the binder idea. I am definitely going to try that this year. I usually don't take all the ads into Walmart but I am going to start so I can PM as much as possible. Usually hubby carries the debit card with him when we go and I don't have to carry a purse. It's a pain to keep up with your purse on BF with so many people going crazy. -
That's a great idea! I think I will try doing this for next BF. I just have to find a good hiding spot so I can keep it from the kids. My daughter is always asking for quarters to wash her car.lol.

We buy for my parents, hubby's parents and the neices and nephews that live close by. The adults all agree that the holidays are for the kids, so we all just worry about getting the kids stuff. I tell my parents to not worry about getting us anything, to just buy for the kids. They can watch the kids one night as a gift if they want to do something for us. Both kids have birthdays on the 26th and the 28th so it stetches their wallet. As for hubby and I exchanging gifts with each other, we will probably get a few things on BF for ourselves. We've bought new living room furniture, dining room furniture and a tv recently. So we decided to call that Christmas.

I have 2 rentable kids. My 16 yr old daughter is very strong. She took weight lifting and can bench squat 250lbs. So she can be a big help carrying stuff and loading the car too. She can also help hold back the crowd while you get your big ticket items. As for my son, he hates to shop unless you are buying him something then he's all for it.

mp3 player and a cheap humongous tv for my bedroom.
-
You could always price match them at Walmart. Just get there super early and put them in your buggy.
-
Walmart, Staples, JcPenneys and maybe Big Lots. We don't have much to pick from around here.
-
We'll probably hit Walmart first and then Staples. Maybe JcPenney's after that.. not sure though. I wish we had a Target, Toysrus , Best Buy and Circuit City close to us. The closest ones are almost 30 miles away. BTW : What are Best Buy Bucks and how do you get them?
-
WOW!!!! WTG! That's a great idea for saving money.
-
If it's gonna save me a buck, I'm there for the $29 mp3 player too. lol. I hope they have something like that, my daughter wants one for Christmas. As for saved up for BF, none. Hubby gets his bonus the week before BF so we usually use that. We probably won't use the whole bonus because there's not a lot of big ticket items we are after this year. Maybe a tv for the bedroom if we can find a great deal on something we want.

How do you take a potty break while waiting in line on BF?
laffnatu replied to cherry33778's topic in 2006
Last year my daughter and 2 other friends went with me. Walmart was our first stop. The 3 of us staked out where we needed to be and my daughter went back and forth saving our spots while we went to the bathroom or she got us something to drink and brought it back to us. It worked pretty well. As for having to wait outside, I would make friends with the person behind you so they will save your spot while you go to the bathroom. Most people will save it for you to go pee. -
The patio furniture at my Lowe's was gone a few weeks ago. I guess they started their sale alot earlier. So now I am trying to talk hubby into this set at Walmart. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4267922 I believe that I seen it for around $250 at Walmart the other day. Of course he's response is, we don't have a patio... where are we going to put it.
-
I'll be there layaway or not as long as they are offering something that I'm after. :)
-
Yep, our Walmart had them for months after. I don't know how long they got before they finally sold them all. Yep, the LCDs were sold very quickly. I only noticed them because they were right beside the computer last year. I have my fingers crossed that they will have one or the other. We need a new tv for our room.
